Winston James

Winston James is a distinguished professor of history at the University of California, Irvine. With his expertise in Caribbean and African American history, he has authored several notable books that delve into significant historical figures and movements.

His book titled A Fierce Hatred of Injustice: Claude McKay's Jamaica and His Poetry of Rebellion (2000) examines the life and poetry of Claude McKay, focusing on the rebellious spirit and resistance to injustice evident in McKay's works.

In The Struggles of John Brown Russwurm: The Life and Writings of a Pan-Africanist Pioneer, 1799-1851 (2010), James explores the life and writings of John Brown Russwurm, a pioneering figure in the Pan-Africanist movement during the 19th century.
