Notes
The Second Sunday Black Women's Literary Club was formed as a way for Black women to share our love of books and primarily to promote the works of Black Women authors, even though we do occasionally select Black Male authors. The book titles have run the gamut from to include religion, science fiction, romance, mystery, and self-help. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month hosted by a member in her home, or other place of her choosing, except the month of August we do not meet. On the second Sunday in September we celebrate our Anniversary Soiree. At that meeting we post our book list for the year; however, we have been known to change a selection if something new and exciting comes out or if we find that a selection is out of print. During the years we have hosted several new authors and attended readings by writers visiting the local area. Second Sunday is an awesome way for a diverse group of women to spend a lively Sunday afternoon once a month.
