Dear Sisters from Philadelphia, PA

Dear Sisters is comprised of black women who meet on the fourth Friday of every month. Books are selected on recommendations from the group. We usually read books written only by black authors. We read fiction, non-fiction, autobiographies, and poetry. Someone from the group usually tells the story (for the benefit of those who did not read or finish the book) and then everyone will discuss the book giving our views, opinions and asking questions. We also discuss news, world events and share what is happening in each other lives. At the end of each discussion, we dine on a variety of good food. A good time is had by all.
