When we think about slave rebellions, many have heard of the revolt led by Nat Turner and popularized in Nate Parker’s, critically acclaimed, 2016 film The Birth of a Nation. However, many slave rebellions have been virtually erased from history. Fortunately there are excellent books which ensure these inspiring stories of unimaginable spirit are never forgotten.
