Finally got around to seeing the Michael Jackson movie yesterday. I enjoyed it. It brought back a lot of memories. I looked for things that I remembered seeing and hearing about him back in the 70s and 80s. I remember watching television and seeing Michael being hauled away by ambulance after his hair caught fire during a Pepsi commercial shoot. ....I also remember that Pepsi commercial, lol. And one of the things that I looked for and saw was the media showing him laying on a ambulance cot with that sparkling white glove being held up. I had little idea that the burns Michael received from that Pepsi commercial accident were so serious and left him in so much chronic pain. I though his hair just caught on fire. I wish they would have included Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, and Brooke Shields in the movie. The movie basically ends with Michael's life back in 1988 -WTF????? I sense a part 2 in the works.

I agree. Most of those who support him should have THEIR intelligence questioned....lol. Most...but not all. Even many of his true supporters KNOW why they support him and for what reasons. .......as long as he's serving their self-interests. Cynique Do your daughters know you are showing pictures of yourself all over the internet.....on beaches and in robes grabbing on men? I'm curious to know if THEY know this is the type of behavior their mother engages in.

That could have and should have been a Black American. If we had played our cards right after the the social revolutions of the 60s, AfroAmericans could have been in a position where we owned tremendous amounts of wealth not only in the United States but in Africa and all through out Latin America. Back in the 60s and 70s we were in a social position where were could have established connections all across the global with people allowing us to freely partake of their abundant resources. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Eldridge Cleaver are 2 immediate examples who come to mind. They were well known and well respected in the Middle East and the nations overthere probably would have GLADLY shared a portion of their oil and resources with the organizations these men represented.

@ProfD Word is that Hammond is pretty much a done deal because property taxes would skyrocket if Chicago took on that project so that made iit a deal breaker. The Bears did buy property in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, a defunct racetrack race track but that didn't work out.. Oh well, they say it will take 5 years to complete construction on a brand new modern stadium, sooo I won't worry about it. zzzzz zzzzz

@ProfD I wouldn't say low self-esteem is the only reason. It's not necessarily even a case of wanting to look like somebody else. It's often just a case of wanting to become your "best self"; just as easily a case of self- love, rather than self-hate. It's presumptuous to suggest that one size fits all when it comes to why a woman decides to improve her appearance. Men would do well to stop trying to define women. 😉

Word on the curb is there's supposedly video evidence of Karmelo Anthony being jumped by several boys. The problem is folks are talking about it but haven't produced anything. Even if such a video exists, white folks will find a way to flip the script & leave Karmelo in prison on ice.😎

Plastic surgery & body transformations ( injections) & hair implants to name a few things that are big business because people don't want to put in ths work (diet & exercise) to get in shape naturally & age gracefully. Low self-esteem is the only reason any seasoned woman would aspire to look &/or be like Shakira or anyone else.😎

Technology has lowered the barrier to entry in a number of areas. Journalism is one such area. Even with an abundance of disposable content, there's still outlets for good Black journalism. Nowadays, good Black journalism can be found in local publications & podcasts. Really depends on what the reader wants to know.😎
