  2. Not only are they.....as Professor Griff would say: PAWNS in the game ...what virtually NONE of these non-Whites understand is that they are caught between two opposing groups of White folks with conflicting ideas and agendas. The wealthy elite Whites brought them into America for cheap labor and to act as buffers between them and AfroAmericans. That's who sponsor them and that's who support them. The poor and working class Whites feel they are taking their jobs, ruining America with their foreign cultural habits, and generally hate them and want them gone. This confuses the shit out of most of these non-Whites because they feel that White folks love them one minute and hate them the next....lol.
  3. Troy Because we are not animals Oh??? Some of us aren't? and many of us have some modicum of self-control. It seems your expectations of humans is pretty low. Depending on the human, when it comes to sex....yes. Infact, depending on SOME of the dudes I've seen...my expectations of them are actually pretty HIGH. I EXPECT for them to try to screw any woman they can have 5 minutes alone with, including female relatives. If I go to a family reunion and see some of the characters I know leave without hitting on ALL of the females he comes across there...although I think it's a GOOD thing, I'm still a bit disappointed that he didn't do exactly as I expected of him. Virtually all the women I interact with are classy enough not to raise me suspicion of sleeping with my son -- especially if I'm dating them. I don't have a son, but I would hope they would also respect the code implicitly. In today's society, especially in our community for those born after 1970...there IS no "code" of ethics or conduct that most of us honor outside of the code of basic humanity that is given to us through human instinct. I'm in my 50s and most of the women I kick it with are over 40. If I bring them around my family (I generally don't hang around 20 and 30 year olds so the only time I really interact with them is at work or at family get-togethers) the young men usually find them attractive and I see them giving them the "eye". Besides most women just naturally not finding younger men attractive (..though some do) what really keeps them in check is knowing ME and how I am and how protective and territorial I am. But the women I kick it with AND the men of my family know this about me, so they don't try anything while I'm present and evidently don't try anything behind my back either....lol But FEAR is the "code" they respect. Not some arbitrary ethical code regulating who they bang or refrain from. Now you raise an issue with "class." Clearly everyone in this story were of a lower class. Perhaps in these social circles one need to worry about children hooking up with stepparents. I call this "ghetto mentality." Ok. But they are still part of society.....a huge part of society. We're talking about humanity, not simply "upper class" humanity....so my points should be considered valid. That you @Pioneer1 you might be watching too much step-mom porn No need to. I saw and in a few cases EXPERIENCED so much MILF as a younger man, porn of THAT scenario just doesn't do it for me....lol. You have to feel for boys who find out that the ONLY reason they have any "friends" who hang around them is because their step-mothers and REAL mothers are freaks...lol. ProfD How do you define intelligence? The ability to learn, understand, and retain knowledge. How does one gain wisdom? There are multiple ways, but since YOU don't believe in the supernatural I will say: Wisdom is gained through the proper understanding of knowledge through observation and experience. A whole lot of women are classy. Just a matter of being in the *right* environment. You're right to say it depends on the environment because "a whole lot" is a very subjective figure....lol. But what I really meant by that question was WHAT PERCENTAGE of women in today's society would actually be considered "classy". And then ofcourse, we'd have to define "classy". Right. Trailer park mentality would be the white version of it. Yes, but as I said to Troy....that's increasingly COMMON today. Which makes my point valid. Just because something is vulgar or uncouth...doesn't render it invalid or mean it's not common. A LARGE percentage of women have little to no class today. They don't even know how to SIT in a chair when they're wearing a dress...lol.
  4. https://newrepublic.com/post/201664/vivek-ramaswamy-turning-point-racism-ohio This is the kind of wake-up call that let's non-white folks who believe they have been accepted by white folks realize there is a ceiling. Vivek Ramaswamy is running for governor of Ohio. The people in his own political party have let him know for the 2nd time after his failed POTUS bid that they aren't down with having an Indian in charge of their state or country. Many Indians, Hispanics and Asians believe they are either white or white-adjacent and have been accepted by white folks. If they don't play the game correctly, white folks will let Brown and Yellow folks know they're not really white. Ramaswamy is Harvard educated and rich. Not only does he believe he's been accepted by white folks but also thinks being wealthy makes him elite too. He talks in a condescending manner as if he's the smartest person in the building. Average white folks will let Ramaswamy know he's not above nor is he one of them. Another case of FAFO...f8ck around and find out.

  7. Ownership means content control. We don't have to use it negatively. The face of BET ownership was a black man but the investors behind the scenes were not Black. Once BET was sold to Viacom, content programming went off the rails. They served up a whole bunch of mental junk food. McDonald's for the brain. Look no further than the sh8t owned by Oprah and Tyler Fairy, er, Perry. Straight garbage. White folks aren't in the same predicament. Regardless of which way the political winds blow, white folks are comfortable being [insert class here] because as long as they're white...they believe they're better than non-white folks and therefore can't *lose*. OTOH, Black folks regardless of class can be marginalized or wiped out completely. Other non-white folks are fine with white folks controlling power and money. Those people try to blend in and stay low. Some non-whites consider themselves white or white-adjacent. They are just as anti-Black as white folks too.
  8. That gives Democrats enough time to get their messaging right and field strong candidates, charismatic and capable enough to carry and deliver it.
  9. That is certainty a factor give the midterms are a full year away. But that is also ample time for the current administration to create more havoc. Eyes will be in NYC too.
  10. The reason that technology reaches people quickly (goes viral) is that it is designed to do just that. I argue that content used to do that does not serve us. If you do not use the technology the way they do no one besides you and me will use it. Think BET. It is not just us man. Most of the country is in this predicament. Of course, when American catches a cold... always applies.
  11. The people who work for government definitely know what it means especially when they're sitting home or going to work and not getting paid. The average American doesn't have a strong knowledge of US government or Civics. It's supposed to provide checks and balances and prevent fraud, waste and abuse. No shortage of books on the subject. Hopefully, the people most adversely affected by the shutdown, losing paychecks, SNAP benefits, rising prices and goofy Republican policies and actions, will remember all of it during the midterms and 2028. Even without offering any policies or solutions, Democrats should be able to sweep the House, Senate and national elections if people are truly bent outta shape. I'm willing to bet short attention spans and entrenched racism will make those same Republican voters and non-voters alike stay the course.
  12. I watched this TV series called The OA on Netfix it dealt with the subject of traveling through different dimensions. It held my attention but I would not string recommend it unless this subject really appeals to you. I see a fetus.
  13. As @Troy alluded, those are negative emotions. Usually points to deeper issues within that individual. People don't make the best decisions based on their emotions. Jealousy and insecurity are not traits that enable a man to provide for and protect his woman, children, family, village, etc. A man should have the mental and physical abilities to handle his business. No time for jealousy and insecurity. In fact, a strong man (mentally & physically) doesn't have to worry about his woman leaving and/or another man testing him. A strong man can easily find another woman. They are attracted to him.
  14. Black folks need to own whatever forms of technology that reaches the most people quickly. Black folks don't have to use technology in the negative ways that greedy people do. we definitely need it. White folks control power, money and technology. Black folks are dependent and defenseless. Not a great position.
  15. @aka Contrarian the death of the penny was lok overdue. When I was kid you could buy all sorts of candy for a penny. Can you buy anything for even a nickel today? Get rid of those too. Who still carries currency anyway? The only time I carry currency is when I play poker and spend the winnings
  16. Right, I actively avoid consuming content on social for reasons I can go on with all day long. So it does not matter to me who owns it as I don't use it. If Black folks owned it, and it operated the same way, I still would not use it. The move for Black people is not to embrace the same f'ed systems greedy white boys use to exploit the populace (winking at Richard). We desperately need to do things that will serve us. This is true to the nation in general.
  17. The democrats will, I believe, make gains in the midterms. I'm glad the government shut down ended. The only people being hurt were the poor. I don't hold this against the democrats either. MANY people lost a month and half of pay and will not get it back. If you've never lived paycheck-to-paycheck or were so food insecure you needed food stamps, you simply can or don't want to relate. As far as the republicans using the shut down as a tactic, DHTPHTG. Another reason the Dems will prevail in the midterms...
  18. Jealously and insecurity are human emotions nothing is inherently wrong with them, but like all negative emotions including hate, fear, envy, etc we should try to moderate then. If a brother greets your woman with a smile while you are standing there, do you fly into a rage or are your pleased that she was greeted in a friendly manner? Do you later give her grief, or slap her around, for encouraging the brother or do you think homie was a friendly guy? The emotions are natural what provokes them and how we react to them is what matters.
  19. Because we are not animals and many of us have some modicum of self-control. It seems your expectations of humans is pretty low. Perhaps I'm naive but, I would not be worried about my son banging my wife, or my wife cutting my head off -- I don't have that kind of mental energy. Virtually all the women I interact with are classy enough not to raise me suspicion of sleeping with my son -- especially if I'm dating them. I don't have a son, but I would hope they would also respect the code implicitly. Now you raise an issue with "class." Clearly everyone in this story were of a lower class. Perhaps in these social circles one need to worry about children hooking up with stepparents. I call this "ghetto mentality." That you @Pioneer1 you might be watching too much step-mom porn
  20. ProfD Right. A man should be secure enough within himself and be able to decern that foolishness. I thought discernment was more a matter of intelligence/wisdom than self-assuredness. Bottom line is most men don't have grown azz sons living with them. Otherwise, it would be too much of a reminder that he failed as a parent Excellent point! This was the first time I actually heard someone give THAT perspective of having an adult child still at home, however it makes sense. Classy women don't entertain those situations Lol....but how many women ARE classy?
  21. Let me ask a provocative question..... What's wrong with a man being jealous and insecure? Not in a timid and scared way to the point that he doesn't take risks or chances. But in a protective and territorial way where he's generally on alert when other men come around and suspicious that they may try to push up on his woma(e)n or take his money. If a man should NOT think like this, WHY shouldn't he?
  22. They should stop calling it a "shut down" because the government clearly didn't shut down. They just stopped funding targeted programs, plain and simple. That term misleads people. ProfD The shutdown was an example of them going by the rules. No appropriations...no money. Perhaps. But the rules are so confusing and contradictory it's hard to say. Congress passed a law agreeing to provide stimulus checks. Right. A smart citizen would ask where did they get the money if the nation is supposedly "in debt"? An even smarter citizen would ask why couldn't Congress pass a law to keep SNAP going and funded during the alleged "shut down" until they agreed on a bill? And and even smarter citizen than that would already KNOW why...lol. Those funds were already appropriated for foreign aid. Yeah, I know how this "game" works...lol Having been a social activist for years and having to deal with governments on a city and sometimes county level I know that certain funds...especially funds granted by the state or feds...are appropriated SPECFICIALLY for certain projects and programs and can ONLY BE USED for those projects and programs. It's really a way of cutting one's own throat because a city should be free to use it's available revenue where ever it's NEEDED instead of being forced to use it for only one specific project and then have to give it back if not completely used up. The definition above says it all. The government has already defined essential and non-essential services and functions as well. Not really. It looks to me like these federal agencies that rely on the funding get to decide for themselves what is essential and what is not, but perhaps I'm mistaken.
  23. I thought TikTok was supposedly owned by China? Where did all of this talk about TikTok being a source of Chinese propaganda come from that these Republicans were crying about a little while back? Although we do need to own our own social media platforms, I don't think we should ignore the grass while focusing on the flowers. We need to make sure we own national television stations, radios, and news papers! Social media is a good way to reach SOME people, but a lot of people....older and a surprising number of younger people....still love to sit back on the couch and relax and WATCH television or LISTEN to the radio. The Civil Rights and Black Power Movements were carried largely by Black owned news papers and radio stations and later on in the 70s and 80s we started buying television stations. We should have kept them.
  24. https://www.businessinsider.com/who-could-take-over-tiktok-us-business-investors-oracle-ellison-2025-9 The current administration facilitated the $14 billion dollar sale of TikTok to a group of investors including Oracle and billionaires Rupert Murdoch and Michael Dell among others. Oracle, owned by billionaire Larry Ellison will own a huge stake in TikTok. He also just bought Paramount. That means he has control over them. The best way to control information and content is to own it. Instead of starting a network or social media company or app, just buy one of the most popular existing companies. It would be awesome if Black folks could have made such power moves.

  26. The shutdown was an example of them going by the rules. No appropriations...no money. Congress passed a law agreeing to provide stimulus checks. There are contingency funds and multi-year funds built into certain appropriations. Those funds were already appropriated for foreign aid. There is no confusion among the lawmakers who control appropriations. The definition above says it all. The government has already defined essential and non-essential services and functions as well.
  27. Right. A man should be secure enough within himself and be able to decern that foolishness. That's another question for a whole thread. Bottom line is most men don't have grown azz sons living with them. Otherwise, it would be too much of a reminder that he failed as a parent. That's made for TV dysfunctional sh8t. Classy women don't entertain those situations.
  28. Out of curiosity I asked ChatGPT: Are Economists stupid or liars in relation to dealing with the Depreciation of Durable Consumer Goods? ========= ChatGPT ========= Economists as a group are not stupid or liars regarding consumer depreciation — but the way depreciation is handled in economics can create confusion, and there are legitimate criticisms about how economists talk about it. Here’s a clear breakdown: 1. Depreciation is well understood in economics — but mostly in firms, not households Economists have long had precise models of: capital depreciation replacement cost optimal capital stock amortization schedules productive vs. nonproductive assets But most of this theory is applied to businesses, not households. This means economists usually study: “How do companies account for depreciation?” not “How do consumers actually experience depreciation?” So the gap is real — but not malicious. 2. Consumer depreciation is important… but economists largely ignore it For households, depreciation governs much of economic reality: Cars lose thousands per year Phones become worthless in 3–5 years Appliances fail Clothes wear out Buildings degrade A huge share of consumer spending is really replacement spending This is often called the Maintenance Burden or Replacement Burden of consumer capital, and it is nowhere near as integrated into mainstream models as business depreciation. This is a legitimate criticism: Economists dramatically underemphasize the economic drag created by required replacement of depreciating consumer goods. But this oversight is systemic, not deceitful. =========== ROFL ============ I would just call it lying but some economists must be stupid. .
