  2. Troy I’m not sure what difference they would make if people read the Bible. There are so many different interpretations It’s hard to believe it describes the same religion. That being the case, how can you condemn another person's interpretation or claim it's wrong or taken out of context? Pioneer, for example, believes, the Bible teaches us that Black men have the biggest penises and accepts this revelation as proof that it is true — and this is after reading the Bible in four different languages! Actually, I only read the ENTIRE Bible in one....English. I read PARTS of it in different languages but not the entire thing....although that's one of my distant goals when I have time to do so. I've gotten a MUCH better understanding of not only the Bible but of history in general by taking a closer and more detailed look at the time period and what the authors really were trying to convey in their original languages. The reality is that for the vast majority of time the Christianity has been in existence, most of its followers could not read the Bible. Which is why they remained Christian. Most Christians who took time to actually READ their so-called holy book would actually LEAVE their religion. Reading the Bible is one of the things that actually took my out of religion. Especially when you realize by reading the Old Testament that the Bible teaches that their are MANY Gods/Deities....not just One. ProfD Back in the day, I remember public service announcements encouraging young people that Reading is Fundamental (RIF). There was also Reading Rainbow. Oh man, you're bringing back memories! I think my man Levar Burton was on that show for a while...lol. Also Maya Angelou had a few cameos on it....if I'm not mistaken. Brotha @Pioneer1 is in a minority having read the entire bible several times and in different languages too. That's another level. As I told Troy, I've only read the entire Bible in English. I study sections and passages of it in it's original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages through TRANSLITERATION. It's a real eye opener. You realize that a lot of the words in English have been PURPOSELY mistranslated in order to confuse the readers.
  3. That sounded (read) like a White girl TRYING to sound Black.....lol. Do you talk like that in real life? Are you one of those Black folks who is more comfortable around White people and get awkward around your own? Speak regularly around White folk; but when you have to interact with other Black folks you start patronizing and mocking them. Exaggerating and putting extra slang in your speech hoping to "relate" better....lol. Like Braxton from the Jamie Foxx show...... "Hey brothers! What it beez like down in the 'hood today? I'm chillin' like a villain, myself. Hey I'm so hungry, I can sure go for a heaping helping of those chitterlings and turnip greens! Anyone know where I can cop a plate on the downlow?"
  4. It's not so much that he's saying what's on "people's" minds....he's saying what's on RACISTS' minds! I don't like how so many Black people on the internet and especially on social media are cheering his vile and racist attacks. To see so many Black Americans side with an open and avowed racist against other Africans/Black people is disturbing. Not so much that they didn't have it coming to them. I'm not in love with Somalis myself because much of my interactions with them on line was them being VERY racist and anti-Black American in general but they also tend to be very anti OTHER African as well and consider themselves superior. One of the reasons there are so many Somalis in places like Minnesota, Oregon, and Maine is because these are some of the places with the LEAST amount of Black Americans, who many Somalis try to avoid when coming here...lol. However there are 2 major problems with his rhetoric: 1. If he's talking like this about Haitians and Somalis...calling THEM "garbage" and saying that he doesn't want the in the country, how long will it be before he starts saying that about Black Americans? Will there be people all over social media hand clapping and cheering THAT on to? Will I see other AfroAmericans staring at the screen with their eyes wide open and shining "agreeing" with Trump and clapping their hands and saying "right on" or that he's "telling it like it is" by disparaging AfroAmericans as a community.....as if they aren't part of that same community? Where does this stop? 2. He's just talking. But don't think he's words aren't firing up the racists on the ground level ready to take action and do something. He long before we start hearing reports about attacks from private citizens on the groups he's targeting? That goes for this so called "New Black Media" who seem to be cheering him on in his attack against Somalis and other Black immigrants. This is one of the reasons I can't trust them. Because if you'll side with Trump over THEM Black folks....how do I know you won't side with Trump over YOUR OWN Black folks? If he decides to go hard on Black Americans and try to remove THEM from the country, how do I know YOU won't sit up there with a bowl of popcorn grinning and talking shit about US...even though you're one of us...and cheer him on?
  5. They said his wife was Jewish too. So that's interesting. I don't know about him being gay, but I definitely don't think he WANTS to be married. I think this is just cosplaying. He's trying to portray himself as a "family man" the others can relate to, or atleast a man who kicks it with the ladies. He's making this move for a future Presidency bid.

  8. Good Afternoon, It's great to be in community with you. My name is Nicole Carr and I'm an Atlanta-based journalist, journalism professor and author of the forthcoming book The Price of Exclusion: The Pursuit of Healthcare in a Segregated Nation (HarperCollins June 2026). This is my first book, and it's taken me on a journey through the archives of our medical schools at home and abroad, as well as family history in Jamaica, the U.S., Canada and Europe. We released the cover on Black Friday, and I'd love for you to check out the description and cover below. If this sounds like a read you'd like, I'd appreciate your support with pre-orders and/or spreading the word. You can shop your favorite Black-owned and independent bookstores through the Bookshop link located here: The Price of Exclusion – HarperCollins Thank you for your consideration and support! Nicole Book Description: From award-winning journalist Nicole Carr comes a landmark narrative revealing the untold history of Black medical professionals who have long fought to heal their communities—while confronting a system built to exclude them. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Americans died at nearly twice the rate of their white counterparts—a disparity rooted not only in access to care but in a long history of exclusion, exploitation, and systemic racism. How did we get here, and why, despite generations of Black medical excellence, do these inequities persist? In The Price of Exclusion, journalist Nicole Carr uncovers that history and its urgent consequences, exposing the hidden toll of America’s refusal to value Black doctors and their patients. At the center is the extraordinary life of Carr’s great-grandfather, Dr. Lawrence St. Clair Ferguson, a Jamaican-born physician who served in World War I and attended medical school during the Spanish Flu pandemic. His journey from colonial Jamaica to a racially divided America provides both an intimate family portrait and a sweeping history of how Black physicians persevered despite segregation, erasure, and relentless barriers to practice. Through vivid storytelling and meticulous research, Carr resurrects the lives of pioneers who transformed medicine against impossible odds. From America’s first four-year medical school located at a historically Black college in North Carolina to the generations of Black physicians whose contributions were pushed aside by institutions of power, Carr shows how these figures were not only doctors but also advocates and innovators whose work reshaped public health and opened doors for those who followed. Carr also reveals the systemic campaigns that actively disempowered Black doctors, from the American Medical Association’s exclusionary policies to the devastating closures of Black medical schools after the Flexner Report. That legacy fuels today’s shortage of Black medical professionals and the lingering distrust in medicine that continues to cost lives. Bold, moving, and essential, The Price of Exclusion is both a necessary history and a testament to the resilience of Black medical pioneers past and present. At a moment when diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine are under political attack, Carr forces us to reckon with the past while imagining a future where healthcare truly values every single life.
  9. In False Promises, the fight for Black voting rights in Ohio comes alive through narratives of men of color who defied the state’s nineteenth-century restrictions on suffrage. Though ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment ostensibly extended the franchise, state election laws still forced men of color into a perilous struggle for full citizenship. Ric S. Sheffield depicts their courage and determination, revealing their humanity through stories of sacrifice, resistance, and hope. 10. Right. Married on paper. Bachelors in their actions.
  11. The difference is that he happens to have the biggest platform and is considered a leader of the free world. So, whatever limited vocabulary and insults come out of POTUS OJ's pie-hole, gets broadcast not only to his base but also around the world. Millions of budding racists, white supremacists, misogynists, etc., get to hear the crap being uttered by POTUS OJ. Powerful ignorant messages being sent.
  12. Trump, Clinton, and JFK were bachelor too, even though they were married.
  13. Well, it is sad people think like that too. I know someone I have to deal with who seemingly expresses whatever she is thinking -- without a filter. It is not possible to reconcile what she says with her actions, so I'd rather not hear anything her stray thoughts. Same with Trump. He said "Ilhan Omar is garbage." What does that even mean? That communicates nothing other than he is a very crass man with an apparently limited vocabulary.
  14. Probably not because Senator Booker has been mentioned in another thread. @Pioneer1 gave the senator benefit of doubt and believe he could be as*xual. Well, the stunt he pulled this past weekend could nullify that claim. However, since I believe the marriage is a front, the jury is still out. Not that it makes a difference one way or another. Higher political aspirations seem to require a different look. The last bachelor POTUS was James Buchanan. There were questions about him too.
  15. POTUS OJ does not seem to have a filter. He says what other people are thinking. That's why it goes unchecked. Silence is acceptance.
  16. Hey @Milton, A Palmetto Christmas was already on the site, but I found a few more titles to add including what I believe is you most recently published novel, Cynda. BTW I see you use two different names; Milton J. Davis and Milton Davis. Is there a reason for this? If not, I suggest you update your metadata to use one version of you name (I suggest "Milton J. Davis"). There are other Milton Davises out there
  17. Hey @Kimberly S. Love we've added you book to the site: https://aalbc.com/books/9798218669324 What is the book's publication date and page count? By the way, do you know Jay Myhand or Marc Lacy (both from Huntsville)?
  18. Hey, y'all seen what happened to jive assed nigga when he was hangin round some ol hornet nest? He look awful. So messed up guess he cain't even sleep. Say he get up early in da mornin and play wid his computer like he crazy. Talkin' to himself, and stuff. smh Dere he go now. Jes look at him! 'Heard his bitch really pissed off, 'specially since she found out he been playin round wid dat ol funny talkin' Idris Elba. Po Canina. Dat jive-assed nigga prolly gonna drop her off at da shelter now dat he found him a new Interest. uh-uh-uh. He jive-ass, alright. 'N real freaky. Dat's da word on da street...
  19. Maybe the last 75 years... I doubt most Black men read well enough in 1900 to understand the bible. I don't even understand it
  20. There is no excuse for folks born within the past 125 years and counting.
  21. I undwerstood. I was just emphasizing the bible for most of its existence couldn't be read due to illiteracy. The printing press was invented until 1,500 years after Jesus the Christ's death. Basically, reading the Good Book is not a requirement for being a Christian. So I wouldn't beat them up on that point.
  22. I was only referring to the bible as a popular book that many people of faith haven't read thoroughly. If people aren't willing to read the ONE book of their beliefs, getting them to read other books and other sources seeking knowledge and information will require a level of effort. Back in the day, I remember public service announcements encouraging young people that Reading is Fundamental (RIF). There was also Reading Rainbow. The average American is literate in their ability to read. I still contend it is surface level. Just well enough to follow directions and get things done and not get unalived. Brotha @Pioneer1 is in a minority having read the entire bible several times and in different languages too. That's another level.
  23. Must be using a combination of CGI and AI to include Richard Pryor in the cast.
  24. Also featuring: BERNADETTE STANIS as "Baby Girl" "Ooooohhh Big Mamma! Now you KNOW Dolemite go eat you alive when he find out you been dealing that he'ron out of his ho' houzes. And hiding the dope in Hornets Nests!!!" "Girl hush yo' mouth....jive ass heffah! He ain't go find out, cuz' ain't nobody go tell him! Now GIT yo' lil' narrow ass back up stairs and keep sucking...sucka! ....and finish makin' yo Mamma some mo' money!"
  25. @ProfD I’m not sure what difference they would make if people read the Bible. There are so many different interpretations It’s hard to believe it describes the same religion. Pioneer, for example, believes, the Bible teaches us that Black men have the biggest penises and accepts this revelation as proof that it is true — and this is after reading the Bible in four different languages! People can read the Bible and make it justify anything. The reality is that for the vast majority of time the Christianity has been in existence, most of its followers could not read the Bible.
  26. Pioneer, I repeat your conclusion the Bible has provided proof that Black people have the biggest dicks. Your bizarreconclusion speaks for itself. As far as telling you what it the passage actually means. (1) I know with 100% certainty. It does not mean what you have asserted. (2) why waste my time when you will reject or ignore my reply. I will not provide the meeting for you, (3) biblical scholars can disagree on what it means, however, I can guarantee not one thinks it means what you do. you are literate and all of these languages, man I’m impressed maybe I should call you ProfP!
  27. It’s sad to see anyone speaking like this in public has become normalized. The leader of the free world talks like ignorant trailer park trash. I guess he’s speaking to his base.
