As the United States of America approaches its 250th birthday as a nation, there will be no shortage of events in Washington DC.

Unfortunately, the current administration has a way of ruining whatever it touches.🤣

Here is a pic from the grounds of the National Mall this past weekend:

The turnout on the 4th of July should be significantly higher as it has been historically.

On July 4th, plenty folks show up on the National Mall for the concerts & fireworks display at night.

The Great American State Fair is scheduled to run from 25 June - 10 July 2026.

I imagine the turnout will be similar to the pic above from 5 July - 10 July.

As I mentioned in another thread, maybe the 275th celebration will be less political & more festive.😁😎

MY CALENDRIAL REPLY

We will see what happens.

For me it is always a matter of the truth of numbers. The USA is over three hundred and fifty million people.

So one percent of three hundred and fifty million people is three million and five hundred thousand. I think it is easily doable. I argue the district of columbia can't handle three million people coming into it like that so... We will see, but I can see the july 4th celebration being a million or more.

Now on the reverse side, if the turnout is less than a million which means less than a third of one percent of the populace of the usa, I can see that too. Again the USA has a reality that it seems most want to not admit. Media never says it, common folk on media rarely say it. The question again is, what is the United States of America? The USA isn't the country of freedom. Before it was an empire killing people around the world through the central intelligence organization or federal bureau of investigation, it had hordes , millions, of murders by whites, to black descnded of enslaved plus first peoples commonly called native americans that never went to the court rooms. That should had led to convictions of millions of whites as murderes or aiders or abetters of murderers. The USA isn't the country of fiscal capitalism. I argue the english colonies betrayed fiscal capitalism, and the USA inherited that fiscal tradition of betryaing the free marker. Land grabs through genocide and enslaving workers doesn't betray the trading of goods, but fiscal capitalism at its heart isnt defined as the trading of goods, or it has no difference to mercantilism. The key that separates fiscal capitalism from other fiscal ideas, like mercantilims or fiscal socialism is the idea of a free market where all that is traded on value. Enslavement by default cuts out the value from the laborer, land based on genocide, takes out the marker of the land. The USA is the country of hopeful futures. It isn't that James Forten believed the USA at 1778 was the country he wanted, but he believed it would change. The problem is, who believes the usa will change for the better? who doesn't? who is losing belief? who is gaining? I argue based on the voting output, the USA is a majority non of the above vote for the USA, and it is a vote that has been growing, gardless of the saxophone playing white southerner, the Bush clan, the potential for the first female president, the first black president, the Maga movement, the mamdani movement. The number of people voting keeps getting small, that isn't an accident, that isn't laziness, that is based on a set of government officials in all parties that fail to get results and to be blunt, a failure of the fiscal sector to take advantage of its influence and make profit grow throughout the usa.

I quote myself

[Did you know in 2024, the populace of the 13th congressional district was deemed 747,542 while the complete vote for the election, donkeys plus elephants was 217,622. That means 29.11 % of the people voted.

In the donkey primary election that just passed, Chevalier had 32,790 votes while Adriano Espaillat had 30,464 which means as central harlem, a third of the 13th congressional district has 300,000 people, twenty percent of a third of the 13th congressional district voted. Does that mean, Chevalier represents the people of the 13th congressional district? Or does that mean the Democratic Socialist movement is all media hype and no true reaction from the masses?" ]

I pondered if Schrumpf was the first of a new presidential era, but I still see SChrumpft as a continuation of the Reagan era of presidents. In the end of the day, the Reagan era of presidents are all the same.

Terrible legislators, making laws that never actually improve a wide swath but always aid a section of the populace who defends the law as a stepping stone but in truth grows the non of the above party.

Lovely campaigners, they are excellent at getting elected, selling themselves as electable. making huge profits after their government service.

How many people would need to come to the july 4th celebration for it to be a success in your view?

Is the image you shared indicative of the "great american state fair" from 25 June to now., or has it gotten better?

What would be a successful time from the fifth of july to july tenth based on population at the events in the district of columbia, in your view?
