  1. Thanks, Joe. I know I been bad mouthing you, but you've redeemed yourself and have come through in the clutch. You've saved your legacy, and Ametica owes you its gratitude for all you've done to make it a better place. Kamala, you may have to make a sacrifice too, girlfriend. Are the undecided swing voters ready for a black woman president? This country is about to be tested. If preserving democracy is the goal, you may have a shot. But desperate times call for desperate decisions, and - testosterone is better fuel for aggression than estrogen is. Humph. Listen to me, talkin like I give a damn about rescuing America from what Donald Trump represents. ...I got grandkids, y'all.

IMO, the country thrives on its diversity and *freedoms*. None of our differences has reached a boiling point where any group or faction is going to start a civil war. Look no further than AfroAmericans who have been grieving and grumbling for over 100 years. Other than a few protests and marches, we still have not become violent over those grievances or in demanding reparations for America's original sin. A few rowdy folks stormed the Capitol on January 6th. Every week there is a mass shooting. Otherwise, America is a relatively peaceful country. Maybe I'll think differently if/when I see a mass exodus out of here. Too much *free* time on one's hands allows for a certain amount of consternation about one thing or another.😉 In other thread, you mentioned having grandkids. Rest assured that they really aren't much different from the previous generations. They too will figure out a way forward.😎

Whaddup Fam......... I know it's been a minute. Martin Lawrence used to say: How yall feel ! So much has been going on, now you got this situation with Trump that I might stop by here and get into this weekend, I'm sure yall have covered it like gravy already. But on a similar topic, the Republican National Convention is going on this week and there's been a lot of talk of "family values", which is one of the main political tenets that Republicans CLAIM to support. We know it's a damn lie, but so many people around the nation...including people of color...believe it. At my job as well as elsewhere around the city, I've met so many Africans and Latinos who said they were supporting Trump because they believe that the Republican party believes in "family values" like they do. They favor a more traditional culture and feel the Democrats don't represent that. At first I was arguing with them over this, but the more I studied both groups.....Africans and Latinos....the more I began to realize how much they really DID have in common with the Republican Party and the so-called right-wing of the United States! What do I mean? To put it plainly....ALL THREE groups tend to support cultures and values rooted in both RACISM and SEXISM. SEXISM Many Latinos and Africans come from cultures where the women are expected to be obedient, subservient to the men, not practice birth control, no access to abortions. Women are generally not allowed to get divorced from their men or leave them despite the physical and emotional abuse they may be enduring. These are the family "traditions" of old America that the Republicans want to bring back, and these are the "traditions" that can be found in too many communities in both Latin America and the continent of Africa. RACISM Many Latinos and Africans come from cultures where Black people and just having darker skin places you at the bottom of society and lighter skin and white skin is often admired and sought after. In many Latino cultures people are encouraged to mate with White people and have babies with them to "improve" their families. Yes...this is true! I was surprised at how racist many BLACK African nations are towards other Black people, including Black Americans. That's an entire story in and of itself. All, right in line with the racist beliefs of the Republicans. An old saying is, with all thine getting....get understanding. It's one thing to have superficial knowledge about these different "minority" groups that we as AfroAmericans have helped get into this nation and have welcomed in assuming that they were going to be our "allies" against White racism.....but it's another thing to have a proper UNDERSTANDING of just who these people were and what they really believed despite their color.
  4. It took a month for POTUS PJB to accept that he was fighting on shaky legs. Some of us are taught not to quit but sometimes one has to tap out and fight on a different level. Whatever juice POTUS PJB has along with the Democratic brain trust...they need to channel that energy into making VP Harris a stronger candidate or whoever they're going to nominate. Either way, the damage may already be done in terms of delivering the White House back to the Orange Jackazz. We'll see if America pulls to the Left just to save itself.😎
  5. I hate to see the President forced out because people are driven by the media, polls, and Rightwing Psychological manipulation rather than conviction and a willingness to fight no matter what. But Kamala Harris maybe the nominee unless others come forward at the convention. I hope she won't face opposition.
