  1. In many cases, the question is in the answer. Whenever I consult Meta A.I. or GOOGLE I try to include as much information as possible in the question for quicker results. There's a lady whose name is hidden in this sentence. Discerning it proves absolutely nothing about your intellect. LOL
  2. I tend to believe readers are born, not made. Curiosity plays a great role in the pursuit of knowledge via the printed word. How your brain is wired influences your curiosity. I READ somewhere that there are people who if never taught to read, would learn to do so on their own. Unfortunately, being an avid reader is not synonymous with being rich and successful.
  3. @umbrarchist just because your mother didn't approve your choice of books doesn't mean that you didn't benefit from having a father in your home or didn't suffer from not having a father in your home. I have difficulty following your train of thought.
  4. Women have the right to control their own bodies. Motherhood should be a privilege not a punishment. Abortions in the case of ectoplastic pregnancies, for instance, save the lives of women - who may already have small children to care for. Black men are always beating their chests, blubbering about genocide but among the underclasses, these guys are glaringly absent from the lives of their children. This contributes to genocide as much as abortion.
  5. I've seen him interviewed and imo Reverend Barber is a cross between Malcolm and Martin. Not a bad combination. Somebody has to keep the seat warm while this current generation of young black men get to the point of being relevant. Scampering around, rapping about "they not like us" isn't making any great impact. All style and no substance. Democrats might be inadvertently giving the Retrumpicans enough rope to hang themselves. Considering the way things are going, the Trump regime may simply self implode. źzzzzzzzzzzzz,
  6. Much ado about nothing. zzzzzz
  7. It is said the kingdom of god resides within the individual. According to the Bible, Jesus said: "whatever I do, you can do." All religions promote the Golden Rule. Heavenly bliss is out there just waiting for what is preached to be practiced .
  8. @umbrarchistMy initial statement was in response to the question Delano posed about racism. People accumulate wealth and they spend money. And institutionalized racism remains in place. Trial and error is a good teacher. Anybody who is employed and budgets their money is automatically an accountant. Some people are better at this than others, however. And so it goes...
  9. @umbrarchist I have no idea why blacks parents don't teach accounting and a whole lot of other things to their children. But what I do know, is that money talks.
  10. @Troy pioneers' assessment of womens' status in the workplace sounded like something from the 1950s. Most factories have Unions and women hold positions in these organizations, making sure female workers and their demands are met. And when it comes to supervision, a whole lot of men, especially black ones, will tell you how they hate having a female boss because they are so tough to work under. As for sexual harassment on-the-job, it can work both ways. Puleeze.
  11. @TroyShannon is also a surname as well as gender neutral one. It's an Irish name affiliated with the Shannon River in Ireland
  12. Race will always be a factor. In most cases, it will impact negatively. But class will also exert an influence and money will be the bottom line on an individual basis when it comes to the grand scheme of things.
  13. @ProfDThere's still a sizable number of women working on factory assembly lines. Depends on what's being manufactured. And manual labor has become obsolete. BTW, my Rosie the Riviter remark was in response to the gnat flitting around.
  14. The masons, of course, date back to the Egyptian pyamid builders. The Pan Hellenic organizations were inspired by the Phi Beta Kappa honor society which was inspired by the ancient Greek sages. At this stage in my life, I really have no great interest in burning sands trivia. Mostly all of my pledge sisters have passed on and my interests lie elsewhere.
  15. @ Frankster:I feel a kinship with this woman! 🫣 Life is a mind boggling proposition. And the best goes on...
  16. Man take chances all the time via one nightstands. And nobody is expecting anything of men except for them to co exist with those who embrace gender rather than genitals. Live and let live. Nobody can be "turned into" something they dont already have preexisting tendencies for. Not surprising that you know nothing about the "Rosie the Riverter" women who during WW2 replaced men in factory jobs that required them to be familiar with the production and maintenance of machinery.
  17. Shannon should've honored the fine line between rough sex and sexual abuse. He is not a gentleman.
  18. There won't be any backbreaking labor. It'll all be handled by machines and robots.
  19. "Exactly," yelped the dog chasing his tail. 😜
  20. @ProfDplus the fact you don't have to be macho or even a man to utilize the computerized technical support necessary to organize and coordinate a response to a disaster!
  21. I think this parody of Buddhism is really about the effectiveness of choosing silence as a response to the sound and fury of an idiot... 😶😉
  22. Blah, blah, blah, - more blather from Piognat, that well known authority on nothing. I'll take Mel's explanation about the sorority/boule alliance ANY DAY over that of a second rate, self important wanna-be who, himself, is not a Greek, nor a college graduate, who is nothing more than a garrulous blow hard warehouse peon with a god complex who thinks he's infallible and that his half-baked opinions are the gospel truth. But his transparency becomes more evident by the day as he struggles to be relevent @TroyAnd he's certainly not one of a kind! He's just another example of the anxiom about "a little bit of learning being a dangerous thing"; a fool who knows not, and knows not that he knows not. Pitiful.
  23. LOL It probably wouldn't be the first time a woman didn't have her expectations fulfilled in the bedroom.
  24. @TroyOf course I know what "crossing the burning sands" means. And you're right. It's simple enough to figure out, but I'm not keen to discuss the secret rituals of Greek organizations on a public forum. I also refuse to allow Piognat to draw me into a conversation where he "controls the narrative". All of this subterfuge he's clouding the issue with has nothing to do with the original dispute about him using the wrong adjective when referring to the soap opera "Beyond the Gates". But his modus operandi is to change the focus and go all off on irrelevant tangents when he can't win an argument. And his failed attempt to "school me" by babbling a lot of drivel was a glaring example of him not knowing what the hell he's talking about inasmuch as his whole premise was based on his WRONG ASSUMPTION about what I "seemed to think". The only legitimate contribution Piognat could've made in his attempt to enlighten, was to point out that I spelled W.E.B. DuBois' name wrong. But he's too ignorant to know that D-u-B-o-s-e was the wrong spelling.
  25. From what I have observed, men seem more threatened by the LGBQT movement than women are. The move Maher made in the final moments on his last show was to forcefully declare that if you're born with a dick, you're a MAN! Big deal. Women don't seem to really care about female trannies except when it comes to sports and toilets. They even appreciate how stylish and glamourous some of these he/shes can be. Men, however, are so convinced that having a penis is a privilege, they think anybody born with one should be too proud to get rid of it and should, instead, take great pride in this groin ornament they regard as an object to be envied. Women would more likely laugh upon discovering the buffed,well-groomed person they were cuddling with was wearing a tampon. Men, on the other hand, would go berserk upon realizing their long-lashed, wig-wearing bedmate hadn't been castrated yet.
