You seem to be the only one who cares

Given your judgemental response, if you don't care now, you will very likely care soon, once you understand the underlying message that Jay-Z and the entire hip-hop ecosystem is sending.

From the way it at least looks right now and under deeper scrutiny, Jay-Z's journey through life may be commendable in some respects, but in others, his entire personal and business lifestyle and the cultural carnage those lifestyles have left behind appears to have both promoted and elevated his success to a level that will never be achieved buy even the .001% of the underprivileged.

Most of Jay's wealth comes from white people, not "needy black youth"

Troy, IMO, you may be missing the point. It's the message that's being sent about realistically reaching a level that will indeed be unattainable for all but the (real plugged-in) 1%. Reflecting on your (again) mention of casting shade, judge, hate or whatever on others seems misdirected and perhaps to some, indicative of having a lack of understanding of core role models and how they impact the vision and growth of people, especially youth. Attempting to escape through the 'gossip' portal does little to invalidate what should be brought to light, whether it's a public figure's personal life, etc. Like it or not, in today's hyper-critical world where virtually every aspect of everyone's life is interconnected and intertwined with that which they may not have control of or a say in, anything is game. As for "they don't have any money to spend", ask them that same question and see what they say.

    "Hard Knock Life"

Mel, not to throw any (ahum) so-called but perhaps well deserved 'shade' on  "Hard Knock Life" and / or anything Jay-Z, but when you buy a $200 million mansion in Malibu, CA (see enclosed link) while virtually sucking the (moral, financial and spiritual) life blood out of America's poorest, underprivileged and needy black youth (and some other groups) in order to do it, there is a much bigger problem that lies ahead. Black Americans seem hell-bent on blindly feeding the (wealth-transfer) monster that is eating their lunch everyday, seemingly mesmerized by the prospect of becoming the next hip-hop sensation, social media influencer, and so forth. Black Americans are already at the bottom of the ladder and following Jay-Z and anyone else in his orbit, is very likely to keep them on the bottom rung for a very long time.

Troy, obviously, it's your board, and it's certainly your prerogative to do with it as you please, and even delete me as a user, if you so chose. Since I'm not into censorship, removing anything you want has absolutely no bearing on my participation. In short, it was just a discussion (i.e., in your words, "a meaningless distraction") that even the least smart of brains and minds could have handled. In any case, it's nice that you've made the board available for exchanges.

  7. DC residents drive short distances, afraid to go out in daylight as crime crushes city

And by the way, looking well past this article (which is one of perhaps thousands on DC crime), the vast majority of the crime victims and perpetrators in D.C. are black, as in black and ain't never gonna be anything else but black, no matter how hard they try.

serves no purpose and make it difficult to take your conclusions seriously it reeks of irrationality

Troy, your statement sounds like nothing but word salad, which also happens to be one of Kamala's favorite dishes, so to speak. I never (said that) I hated her (, but judging directly from her record) she is indeed an idiot, by any discernible measure), so your judgmental response falls into that category, as well. Do you know what the definition of 'stupid' is? It's knowing something you're doing is wrong and continuing to do it anyway. Kamala has almost never failed in demonstrating here superior skill at being stupid. She can't debate, she can't govern, she dodges nearly every serious question that's ever been directed her way. Go help Black America, should she ever be thrust into replacing presidential impostor and election thief Joe Biden, because the people who will be pulling here strings won't be employees of Disneyland.

The premise of my words is that black greatness IS

IMO, black greatness is indeed something that one can only experience through continual situational awareness. As black people, we always have to be hyper-aware of not only our ever changing surroundings, but the constant barrage of 'incoming' fire that those who are not black or identify as black, don't see.

How do you define Black Greatness?

I would say that I was born with Black Greatness.

My skin - dark as the night – until the light reveals my hue.

My face -  beautiful as the night sky, present in every episode of life.

My heart -  mysterious as a dark room until the warmth of my love fills your soul.

Yes Ms Clairol, I was born with Black Greatness

what’s your claim to Black Greatness?

IMO, none of this feel-good (stuff, so to speak) makes any sense. Black greatness is the ability to boldly execute to completion, prosperity and success, without relying on anyone's help or permission. The color of one's skin, the beauty of one's face, or the warmth of one's love is totally irrelevant in today's hardened real world of precision, perfection and dominance. As many know, if you're looking for acceptance and acknowledgement, people will walk all over you.
