A loser is a loser.  An "incarcerated or financially broke" young brother isn't a winner ... All losers are not people of bad character, just like all winners are not ones of good character. Whatever the case, Life doesn't give a damn because it holds no obligation to be fair. Society reflects life .....

@Cynique:  That's the unfortunate truth of reality.  I never thought about it that way.  Thanks for an undeniable explanation of 'loser.'

Men like you who celebrate promiscuity and wallow in their testosterone can share the blame for this.  And until birth control becomes popular in the ghettos, there will always be neglected kids who grow up to be losers.

Yeah, we love marking territory with our testosterone, as if a Blackman is in charge of anything except abusing Black females.  Well said!

  2. Interestingly, even to my surprise Arabs don't seem to care about the Embassy in Jerusalem.  Many never really had access when it was Tel Aviv.  I was there several times to cancel a resident visa for my wife, we decided it best she does not come to the U.S.   Something about fear of me being harmed should she face Arab hating Islamaphobic white folk.  She's right too, I'll make them kill me!  unfortunately, my compassion is not passive.

The royal wedding, many of the women folk in my wife's family, and others have positive comments about it, but also see it as a Black woman being submissive to a Whiteman.  I constantly hear commentary that American Blacks are becoming worse than whites.   That's probably because they expected Barack Obama to stand-up to Netanyahu more forcefully.   At any rate, I can easily get away from conversations I disdain by denying I speak Arabic or Hebrew unless I'm at one the universities here or in Palestine.

My wife won't allow me to go to bars, but she did surprise me on New Years with a bottle of 50-year-old Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whiskey.   And no, she's stingy to pay $23,000, she got it from an auction house in Dubai for $2,000., more than 2/3rd remain.   You'll never gtuess how many Russian females are here; more Russian Jews then Middle Eastern Jews and most, if all are deeply involved in criminal activity.

Pioneer, I'm not confused.  But it is pointless to argue over geography because maps clearly show Morocco and Egypt are in Africa.

As far as the Middle East is concerned it was something created by white folks, like the national borders of present day Africa, created without regard to the cultures or input from the people who lived there.

Besides you, who else considers Morocco to be in the Middle East.

No need to bring in issues of politics, religion, or the white man into this. Just admit you made a mistake, learn from the experience, and move on -- what is the big deal?

You are right, brother Troy; in fact, I'm about 8-hours from the Egyptian border, visited there several times, driving from Israel; yet they call Israel part of the Middle East, even area's in Palestine they call Israel.  It's all Africa with African Christian, Muslim, and Jewish religion cultures and people.  One cannot say they are of Arab cultures only; not Egypt, Libya, nor Morocco.  They are part of the African continent where Black African, Arabs, and Jews live.  Simple as that, period.

Even the United Nations, though they recognize something called the 'State of Isreal," they actually consider what is called Israel as Palestine.  Isreal is just a government State without a country, until the 1947 war where even Jews called a "Beautiful Bride Married to Another" as Palestine.  Colorful words to that successfully hide their true intention from this stupid world.

You must realize brother, it's easy for Europeans to win-over foolish Black folk because they understand we'll never question what they say.

So you are saying Syrians are culturally the same as Egyptians, and Israelis the same as iranians?!

Latin America and the middle east are not analogous at all.

You are the first person i ever heard say morroco was in the middle east. This is high school geography and you presumably have the internet at your disposal.... smh

Yeah, Latin America is a cultural term; that’s ridiculous.  Latin America is comprised mostly of Latin peoples within the Americas, it's geography.  Middle Eastern Peoples are Africans, Arabs, And Jews.  In fact, the term "Middle East" was probably first originated in the 1850's by Britons but became popular when Americans designated it as the area between Arabia and India.  Hence, Middle East.

Right again, there’s no data anywhere that would support (even) remotely Latin America and the Middle East are comparable.

Any elementary school student knows Morocco is Africa, never considered part of the Middle East.

While we are on the subject of the way black men are treated in college, let's not forget the black women also.Remember that black girl at Yale University

who the cops came after while she was sleeping and working on a term paper. And you must not forget that these women are also raising children by themselves.

Yes, considered the weaker of Black folk, Black women, as well as Black men are being targeted by cops, white nationalists, and the white establishment at all levels of government.   For any cause available to exploit.

Interestingly, I recently watched a short documentary about female prisons being the new hunting ground for sex trafficking; of all the female victims they showed only one Black woman. All the culprits were Black males and one Black female pimp. “The Trap” https://youtu.be/mnGjQKdJrPU

I can't recall ever feeling tentative

Brother Delano suggested you “sound tentative,” not sure if that's what he meant. Though I’ve never heard you do a public delivery, you don’t sound to be someone who ‘freezes-up,’ hesitant or unsure about your subject matter. I can, however, imagine you delivering a ‘tentative speech’ because you’d want to open-up your audience for feedback and conversation.  There's a difference between tentative feeling and tentative speech.

It’s not a Back nor White thing; It’s manipulating yourself best you can, and that almost always comes best with natural speech.

the problem is that white people put Egypt which is firmly on the African Continent in a nonsensically named place they made up called the "middle East."  Clearly Egypt is in Africa -- full stop, end of story.

Right, brother, thanks to Alfred Wegener, the German polar researcher, geophysicist and meteorologist; his continental drift hypothesis, the planet could be considered Africa if his hypothesis is correct.  Even Egyptians recognize theirs as part of Africa, as well as the more accurate history, geometry, and science texts. Most people do not realize or understand this fact.   Honestly,

  8. Yes, I did question whether you actually had an advanced degree even after Troy, Cynique posted that you did.  Then I question whether or not was a 'drug-store' degree.  You know, from some online degree program.   So yes, you are 100% correct.

For further clarification as to why I assumed as I did is because of the lack of clarity in your post's, failure to take the time check grammar and constant use of adverbs, etc.

  9. For the record at this point this discussion, I discovered my tendency to do this about 10-years ago; in a face-to-face conversation with a white elderly guy; he kept on about Blacks being lazy on welfare, drug dealers and addicts, and flirting with white women.  It didn't take me long to convince him that white guys suffer from an inferiority complex due to lack of self-worth, that they doubted themselves and uncertain about own manhood and feel they don't measure up to Black men.  Also, I walked away with $500 dollars of his money.  No going into that part.

You see, brother, inferiority complex is often a subconscious weakness, and is thought to drive afflicted individuals to overcompensate, resulting either in spectacular achievement or extremely asocial behavior, they're easily insulted or offended.   Those of us who attempt to weaponize this human condition is often guilty of misinterpreting or, disagreeing by using what is perceived to be harsh realities of life.

Why do you feel the need to push people's buttons. And how did i attack you.

As  I said, I assumed you attacked me by insisting I was out-of-line by my commentary.   Let's not forget that I'm only human too, capable of erroneous fallacies.

The same is true with brother Delano, he let on early of his sensitivity of comments as to his level of academic exposure, and I went for that jugular.

Sure, I assumed you attacked me, that you were offended when I suggested you expand your academic horizons, I saw immediately you were sensitive about that,  this was exacerbated from a similar post before that happened.  'Jugular,' meaning that's a soft -point, your button.  which  I attempted to clarify many times shortly after.  But you weren't hearing it.

Richard Pryor in concert does he sound white or black

Both, that's why white folks love his comedy; it's an advantage for appealing their sense of Blacks as well as mocking how they really are.   Pryor is a comedy genius but that brother is very serious in making light of real life.

This topic is a brilliant display of subjectivity and the state of Black America.

Various posters  have commented on what is wrong or needs fixing in the Black community. Maybe we  have to learn to respect each other , how to critque an argument without, insulting the perlson, or really listen  and try to understand the perspective and the person.

I have been guilty of every one of those flaws. Which resulting in my apologising to both Mel and Troy. I also realise my  elitist attiutude about thinking, which  resulted  in my recognising Pioneer's modus operandi.

There is a difference between perception and the reality of a person or situation. So my comments are more  societal than individual. Also because making comments to any individual is pointless until they are open. Or willing to see another perspective.

We are te both watching and engaging in the psychopathology of Black People.

    OBSERVATION:  Absolutely excellent!

I stopped bothering to code switch decades ago.  Once I left the 'hood it was no longer necessary.  I'm sure I sound like a "white boy" to folks who live where I grew up

You sound comfortable with that choice of communicating; of the more embedded character trait, behavioral personality called ‘code-switching’ sounding like a white boy, as you put it.’  Such duel personality is not easy to shake once one part completely ignored, it's not a dual personality anymore; it has become a part who you really are, now.  As if that other part is no longer necessary, as you say.

However, I was referring to that aspect describing the internal conflict experienced by marginalized groups in an oppressive society “double consciousness;”  awareness of being made different or choosing to voluntarily accept the added advantage of being able to function without totally committing to any particular form of communicating.  In which case it’s all blended in together, the difference is a conscious awareness of a need to change and, normal if it serves a need.  It's more advantageous living as who you really are in our white world.

I’ve been criticized by brothers for advocating against drug abuse and illicit selling of street drugs and by sisters who disagree with my thinking.  And by whites just disagree with how I think.  Never about how I communicate.  Rather than becoming a part of my academic exposure, it is simply an addition to who I really am.   A person who sees the dark side of things and disregard the so-called bright side as a mirage.  An individualist of sorts with no quims about using weaknesses of others to my advantage; survival of the fittest mentality, in lieu of better decription.

  14.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is a longtime spiritual adviser for Barr, and during the lengthy podcast interview asked her why she wrote the offensive tweets.  What you wrote, he told her, seemed to be in “complete contravention” of your “Jewish values.”

Barr responded by starting to cry, saying:

“I’m a lot of things, a loud mouth and all that stuff. But I’m not stupid for God’s sake. I never would have wittingly called any black person… a monkey. I just wouldn’t do that. I didn’t do that. And people think that I did that and it just kills me.”  ["Boo Who, darn people, why would they do that?"]

Barr said that she had taken the sleep drug Ambien before posting the tweet where she compared former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape. Her tweet said: “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

During the interview Roseanne repeated her previous claims that when she wrote the tweet she didn’t  know that Jarrett was black.

REALLY, are you kidding me!  that's the first I've heard a racist using being high as an excuse for her racism.  I'm not buying it!   I didn't know she subscribed to Jewish faith though, her sentiments do coincide with attitudes of most American Jews, worldwide even.  I WONDER, DOES BLACK FOLK HAVE ANY FRIENDS IN THE WORLD???

  15. (Reuters) – Pennsylvania prosecutors on Wednesday charged an East Pittsburgh police officer with homicide in the shooting death last week of an unarmed black teenager, the latest in a string of U.S. police killings of black men that has sparked nationwide protests.

Officer Michael Rosfeld, 30, surrendered to face a single criminal count for killing 17-year-old Antwon Rose on June 19 as the officer was searching for suspects after a drive-by shooting that wounded one. Authorities have not specified the type of homicide charge that Rosfeld will face.

Video of the incident, showing two men running from a car that was stopped by police and falling to the ground amid the sound of gunfire, sparked several nights of protests around Pittsburgh.

A series of police killings of black men in U.S. cities in recent years has fueled a national debate about racial bias in the criminal justice system.

Also on Wednesday, a white police officer in Kingsland, Georgia was arrested and will face voluntary manslaughter and other charges related to the June 21 fatal shooting of a black man fleeing after a traffic stop.

Zechariah Presley turned himself in and will face charges in the death of Tony Green, 33, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said on Twitter.

Black clergy and the NAACP have held prayer vigils and protests since the shooting occurred, local media reported. Kingsland is about 35 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida.

Few of the officers who have faced charges for the killings have been convicted. U.S. laws give police broad powers to use deadly force when they believe their lives or the lives of others are in danger.

I'd bet a dime to dollar neither one these murderers get convicted!  violence in America is as normal as white media and officials using the 'N' word.  But Black violence in Chicago rampant, they say?

  16. Yeah, and that number's going up under the Trump era because the sisters understand the system and how to make it work for them.  They avoid trying to get around racism and go through it; they avoid trying to fit-in, instead, they take advantage of being outsiders, and they know their Blackness is their ticket, not a denial.  Instead of attempting manipulation of the system, THESE SISTERS ARE THE CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF HUMANS TAKING CONTROL OF SELF, manipulating their own strengths and weaknesses.

The other problem is everyone is different.  Take Pioneer's demand for an apology for example.  He feels K2 crossed a line and now he deserves an apology  But he can't see that the line he created is purely arbitrary, of his own making, and no one else is bound to accept it. That does not mean his line is wrong or right, but I'm not going to ban people crossing every arbitrary line that someone has crossed.

K2 could simply invoke some arbitrary line that Pioneer crossed and demand an apology too.  This is a lose-lose scenario

That’s an accurate observation, brother Troy, and describes the reason(s) I refuse to apologize.  I am not above reproach, however, and it costs me nothing to accommodate P1’s demand if for nothing more than to make him good about himself.  If it is something he needs to feel whole or victorious.

    Truth is, I have no valid complaint of a ‘line’ P1 crossed to justify such insults, though I do harbor some dislikes (maybe even disliking him personally) all are arbitrary in nature and none substantial including his refusal to be forthcoming of his true identity.  I was immature and aimed to be deliberately vicious; surmising him vulnerable was easy to size him up based on his online demeanor, {two words deleted by administrator}

The same is true with brother Delano, he let on early of his sensitivity of comments as to his level of academic exposure, and I went for that jugular.  That does not make a winner  nor a loser, just determined and forceful.

"Make America Hate Again" because nothing about this country under him is "great".

    WORD!!!

I seriously doubt America was ever great.  liberation from the oppression of white European rule by colonialists never make America great, indeed, they weren't even Americans, just seekers of freedom to continue the white legacy of mass genocide, xenophobia, and white supremacy; wasn't democracy at all.  Their success only mocked rights of who gets to be in-charge.  Hence, the U.S. Constitution.

There's no such thing as a Black leader today, at least not in the sense of unity seeking common ground on which to struggle.  They died out with the deaths of MLK and M.X,  And even they disagreed as to direction.  Maxine Waters is a politician; just as Barack Obama and all the other Blacks with a so-called plan for Black America.  Consumerism and grandstanding have replaced their priorities which they hide under white social norms of living.  In the name of survival of the fittest or, "if you can't beat them, join them" rationale.  The former of which even I stand guilty because I see myself as fit to survive more than the 'average' person.

Troy, the non-commercial aspect of AALBC.com is the first thing I've noticed and fallen in love with, like immediately.  I would have gladly paid if there was a subscription fee because it is substantial, to me, to be able to converse with you, Cynique, and Mel, your ideas, and straightforward commentary speaks directly to my interests.

  20. Yes, of course “use your ‘white voice’”!  Character/personality behavior adjustment for security and survival is especially useful for Black folk.  W.E.B. Dubois called it “double Consciousness Theory.”  Being aware of your environment and adjusting one’s behavior to fit-in and/or stay safe in the white world of stereotyping and profiling.

I like to think of it as having a ‘duel personality’ because, unfortunately, we Black folk go too far adjusting our behavior to fit-in that go far beyond what is needed for advantage, personal safety, and self-esteem.
