How do you define Black Greatness?  

I would say that I was born with Black Greatness.

 

My skin - dark as the night – until the light reveals my hue.

My face -  beautiful as the night sky, present in every episode of life. 

My heart -  mysterious as a dark room until the warmth of my love fills your soul.

Well,  

I define Black Greatness, absent any desire to influence another's definition, as contentment. 

I think when Black folk are happy, nothing like it exists anywhere else in humanity. 

 

We are the ORIGINAL....the first.

what’s your claim to Black Greatness?

IMO, none of this feel-good (stuff, so to speak) makes any sense. Black greatness is the ability to boldly execute to completion, prosperity and success, without relying on anyone's help or permission. The color of one's skin, the beauty of one's face, or the warmth of one's love is totally irrelevant in today's hardened real world of precision, perfection and dominance. As many know, if you're looking for acceptance and acknowledgement, people will walk all over you.

IMO, black greatness is indeed something that one can only experience through continual situational awareness. As black people, we always have to be hyper-aware of not only our ever changing surroundings, but the constant barrage of 'incoming' fire that those who are not black or identify as black, don't see.
