A Movement vs A Campaign

People need to understand the difference between a MOVEMENT and a CAMPAIGN

 

 

Movements promote specific agendas with clearer goals (be they good or bad) than campaigns which pretty much parrot partisan rhetoric.
 

 

Movements tend to be more grassroots oriented, wholistic, and longer lasting, than campaigns.

While campaigns typically last less than 4 years, movements can span DECADES.

Think....
CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT
WOMEN'S MOVEMENT

LABOR MOVEMENT

 

While a campaign is designed to change the POLITICAL direction of a nation, a Movement is designed to and can change not only the entire political landscape but the entire CULTURE and FUTURE of a nation.
 

Trump had...and still has...a MOVEMENT behind him!  The MAGA Movement.
Harris was merely running a campaign.

The MAGA movement is real. 

 

POTUS OJ used his reality TV experience to create a prime time circus.

But circus' are usually sold out.
People come to see the circus because they want to be entertained.

Most Movements are founded and/or maintained around a central Charismatic figure.
Like Malcolm or Martin or Gloria Steinem or Ceasar Chavez.

The MAGA Movement is organized around Trump and his charismatic persona.
His charisma is what made his television programs so popular.
Remove Trump and insert Kamala Harris or Mike Pence into the same positions and those "reality" shows would have been a flop.

I'm convinced that over 90% of Black MAGA supporters are only with him because of a lack of a powerful Charismatic pro-Black figure on OUR side who can match him in terms of drawing and electrifying the people.

I'd go as far as to say about 25% of the WHITE MAGA supporters would actually get behind and support a Black...I'm talking PRO-BLACK!!!!....Charismatic figure!

Sure I believe it. Already happened.

 

Former POTUS Obama was the last Black charismatic political figure.

 

Many Black folks voted for POTUS Obama just because he's Black.

 

More than half the country got behind POTUS Obama's message of hope and change. Stuck with him for 8 years too.

 

The half who voted for POTUS Obam would include folks of all stripes.

 

The half that didn't vote for POTUS Obama would include folks all of stripes including Black people. 

 

Charismatic figures are often discovered, groomed and elevated into positions of power and influence. 

 

For several reasons, the Democratic party chose not to go that route. Instead they played the poker hand dealt and came up short on the river.

That's my point, they played the hand DEALT to them instead of doing the dealing THEMSELVES or better yet choosing the time, place, and the GAME ITSELF.

They choose Harris because she was next in line.

A logical linear choice, but not a STRATEGIC one!

Really it was one of emotion.
Choosing Biden OR Harris is a choice of EMOTION.

The DNC didn't want to hurt their feelings by telling the both of them that NEITHER was qualified to destroy the Trump MAGA Movement and they'd have to groom and pick someone with a much better chance of doing so for 2024.
So they just went with Biden, then Harris.

Do a search on the word spineless and it will come up in a few of my posts.

 

Democrats have been fundamentally weak for a long time.  They don't fight for anything.  Couldn't nominate SCOTUS judges.  Couldn't save Roe v Wade.  They take Ls as if they're playing Wheel of Fortune. 

 

Maybe the Democrats will get a membership at a boxing gym.  They will get a trainer and strength and conditioning coach and a nutritionist.

 

If they train really hard over the next 2.5 years to becoming stronger and grooming a candidate, they might stand a better chance of reclaiming the White House in 2028.

Perhaps all of these Black Conservatives and MAGA supporters are starting to have an influence on me too, lol.

I'm beginning to wonder if it IS actually better to have Trump or a Conservative Republicans in charge of the government for a while INSTEAD of these so-called "progressive" Democrats.

Why?

We know they tend to be more racist, however there racism seems to engulf ALL groups who aren't Anglo Saxon and their agenda seem to be pretty clear.

With the Democrats, it seems like most other groups like Latinos, LGBT, and feminist organizations seem to stand the most to gain while AfroAmericans....especially AfroAmerican men....are being left out.

On a personal level......

When I've worked under conservative White bosses, I tended to get along with them much better than when I worked under Latino or Arab or Asian bosses.
Almost all of the Latino, Asian, or Arab bosses I've had would talk about White people to me.
I'm not sure if they did that as some sort of psychological trick to make me feel better or more comfortable around them...but nearly all of them did.
But despite them dissing and talking about White folks, many if not most of them seemed to be harder and more critical of their Black employees THAN the White folks they talked about.

Atleast White folks...including the conservative ones...TRIED to PRETEND to be fair and non-bias to their employees.
Most Arab, Latino, and Asian bosses almost OPENLY showed favoritism to their respective racial/ethnic employees over others.

That rationale is why some folks considered slavery a choice.

I usually understand your points crystal clearly, but this one....not so clearly.

 

When I think of Slavery being a choice for our Ancestors.
I think of the choices of most of them being:

1. Slavery
or
2. Death

 

Because most of them weren't technologically advanced enough to fight off the White enslaver.

Most people have a natural fear of dying.
Especially if they're young and healthy.

Sure.  Yet, there is no shortage of young people in militaries around the world.  They have signed up to kill or be killed.

When they escaped Chattle Slavery, they didn't get away from the Racist System.
They just RELOCATED to a more comfortable spot in it up North or in Canada where White folks were STILL racist and STILL ruled.

The vast majority of these healthy young people:

1. Don't know any better.
They aren't signing up to die, they're signing up for the benefits of being in the military.

 

2. Most haven't seen actual real life VIOLENT death.
So they have almost know idea what they will face during actual combat.

 

If they did, trust me...MOST of them would opt for a few years in prison than to face the battle field.

I said most...some psychopaths will love it.

It doesn't matter *why* millions of people have signed up to join the military. Bottom line is they're in a positron to kill or be killed when given orders to do so.
