ProfD Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Amid Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's resignation, incoming POTUS mused that considering the protection Canada receives from the US, maybe it should become the 51st state. Greenland is a strategic territory of national security interest. The incoming POTUS' son is going up there to determine if they should buy the island. In the same press conference from the Winter White House, Mar-A-Lago, POTUS also mentioned changing the name of Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. Again, in my lifetime, I cannot recall another incoming POTUS having press conferences prior to inauguration. I don't know where the US government is heading but it seems the current administration is perfectly fine with it.
Pioneer1 Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 ProfD Trump is planning to do THIS and planning on doing THAT....but the man was in the Whitehouse already for 4 years and didn't do anything that other Presidents before him didn't do. I'll believe it when I actually see it. Gulf of America? To be honest with you, I wouldn't cry over the change.

Of course, the resident agnostic and skeptic (UAP/UFO/ET) doesn't believe too much of anything without evidence and/or receipts. I'm creating topics and posting information to keep up the forum dialog.
richardmurray Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 What about mexico? The truth is, Canada would never want to be part of the usa, if it has any decent leadership. Canada is a small populace country , meaning per its size and natural resources canada has a small populace. that allows for the universal health care, the social services, i have been to canada many times, in canada fiscally poor people have true services, that cost money. Joining the usa destroys canada's advantages financially, whether internal or external.
umbrarchist Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Should Donald Trump just kick the bucket and quit wasting the planet's oxygen.

Too much crime there. 15 hours ago, richardmurray said: The truth is, Canada would never want to be part of the usa, if it has any decent leadership. Of course Canada does not want to become a part of the US. Sovereignty has its privileges. They still get US protection. POTUS OJ wants to add a major accomplishment to his legacy. It's not going to happen. 13 hours ago, umbrarchist said: Should Donald Trump just kick the bucket and quit wasting the planet's oxygen. Everyone has an expiration date. He isn't teflon enough to get around the other side of the dash 1946 - ?. Just a matter of time. 1
Pioneer1 Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 Yall know good and dog gone well that the U.S. isn't going to annex EITHER Canada or Mexico. That's more Trump talking shit. I can't believe so many people are taking his shit so seriously. Buying back the Panama Canal....I can believe. Taking over Greenland...that's a stretch, but possible. Making Canada and Mexico part of the United States? Balki from Perfect Strangers used to say, "Don't be re-DICKLESS". 1 1

Joining a country that is dysfunctional internally, lies to itself constantly, is full of variant peoples who have at best a connection only to live on top of each other.why join that? yes your correct about sovereignty and being favored by the usa. A good satrap is unbothered by the persian emperors. But, the usa in my view is not a place of positive value outside of militaristic strength. Take the usa military out and the remainder of the usa i argue is worthless.

You already know I don't believe anything POTUS OJ claims. I doubt that regular contributors and lurkers here believe him either. As James Brown sang, he's talking loud and saying nothing.
Pioneer1 Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 There's a lot of people out on the street who are taking him serious when he claims he wants to make Canada and Mexico part of America I have to remind them that these nations already ARE...lol. They ain't heard of NAFTA?

They ain't heard of NAFTA? Unfortunately, that's what happens when people are ill-informed. They rely on second-hand information instead of watching the news and/or reading for themselves. POTUS-elect prides himself on being a deal-maker so he hates NAFTA like every other *deal* he wasn't involved in and/or didn't negotiate. During POTUS OJ's last term, he threatened to blow up NAFTA because Mexico and Canada aren't paying their *fair share* of the agreement. Those 25% tariffs POTUS-elect OJ is proposing will be his way of making *right* what he believes is *wrong* with NAFTA. 1
richardmurray Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 @ProfD yeah the tariffs is a blunt way to change the global financial order, if you take the usa out of the equation most governments financial activity lacks crucial elements and in that chaos , the usa can benefit off of any other governments realignment. That is the positive potential side that the white isolationist have desired since woodrow wilson started the usa organizing intergovernmental bodies. but the negative potential side is the chaos will create fissures or strengthen fissures that can lead to an age of woe at a scale nearest apocalyptic
