Pioneer1 Posted May 3 Author Report Posted May 3 As I look over the posts during our exchange, it appears that many of you mistakenly believe that my position is that my personal observations weigh more than governmental agencies that are charged with gathering stats. That's NOT my argument. Yes, I hold my personal observations OF A PARTICULAR INCIDENT OR SUBJECT in higher regard than what I'll read in some book or in a news paper simply because I've seen it for myself. It's common sense that I'm going to believe what I have seen personally over what somebody WROTE in a damn paper. But obviously I can't compare my limited vision and ability to gather information with a national agency. I think that's pretty much a given. I've seen too many instances of the media lying to trust "the system". Even as a kid, we could witness something go down in the neighborhood and the reporters will often come over to interview some of us as witnesses. Later on that day we'd rush home to see our neighborhood on the 6 o'clock or 11 o'clock news hoping we might see ourselves and our friends and we'd often see 3 things: 1. The reporters may have interviewed 5 people on the street about what happened, but only ONE of those interviews made it on the news! 2. The reporter spend 5 minutes asking questions to the person being interviewed, but on the news....only about 10 seconds of it was shown....lol 3. Half of what the news claimed happened....DIDN'T happen. What the people on the scene actually saw and what the media reported are two different things. This is one of the reasons I don't trust the "official story" in most cases to this day. However, I'm not saying my personal observation or anyone else's personal INDIVIDUAL observations should take the place of government agencies who are sanctioned to actually gather useful information on a large scale like nationally. I'm saying as an INDIVIDUAL...I trust my observations and what I actually see more than I trust what someone tells me to believe.
