I believe the judge is flexing.  Diddy is not a flight risk.  A Mann Act conviction doesn't usually carry a heavy penalty.

 

The Mann Act was most famously used for the late former heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson who received a 1 year, 1 month sentence.

Diddy has already been locked up for 10 months. 

 

There is a hearing next week to possibly move up sentencing from October. 

 

Word on the curb is they might try to give him 4-5 years for each count.  Not sure if it will run concurrent or consecutive.

 

If Diddy gets 1 year for each charge to run concurrent, he could be released for time served and/or probation.

 

Regardless of what the judge decides to throw at him, I believe Diddy has a Trump card.

I'm not sure what to make of the verdict.

I'm glad he didn't get convicted on more serious charges because I like Puffy and think he's a true inspiration for Black males in this society.

However I often think about the victims and alleged victims of what he was accused of.
If they were MY sons or daughters would I still like Puffy or think justice was served?

Perhaps the good he offers out weighs the bad.
He may have taken advantage of and hurt a lot of people but he's also made a lot people...a lot of AfroAmericans...wealthy and gave them opportunities they ordinarily wouldn't have gotten.

With that in mind.....

I'll take the reports of him getting on his knees and praying after the verdict was read as a positive sign that he is a changed man.
I hope he comes back better and stronger than he was before but more righteous.

The *victims* were adults supposedly. They knew what they were doing and/or getting into especially having spent years with him.

Doubt it. Diddy will no longer have major influence in the entertainment industry. Maybe he will be more selective in his s8x life and with whom and how he chooses to party.

I'm not sure if he's still preaching or rapping or what as I haven't followed him lately.
With the getting on his knees and praying...I predict there may be a religious conversion on Puff's part which may influence the future of his career now.

Anything is possible but considering how Diddy has lived 3.5 decades of his life and his wealth, I doubt that he'll have a religious conversion.

One thing is for sure,

He's not coming out on the other side of this the same man he was when he went into it.
