No, this isn't a thread about our late and beloved brother D'Angelo; may he find peace and happiness....

I hope some of yall didn't bring yall asses up in here expecting to see a brother with a 6 pack and corn-rows grinning at you and licking his lips....lol.

I have questions for our brothers @ProfD and @umbrarchist  and any others who consider themselves agnostic.

I often wonder what goes through the minds of people who live in this world without acknowledging a Higher power.
How do they feel as they go through this life?

When you are met with tragedy in your life....tragedy so serious you don't see a solution for....how do you deal with it?
I'm presuming you don't pray because you're not sure who to pray to or if prayer is worth it?

Do any of you believe that you'll continue to exist after physically dying?

How do you feel about suicide?
Do you think it's ever justified; like say....if a person is suffering without much chance of getting better?

Do you believe there are forms of life and intelligence in this Universe superior to human beings?

These are questions I often ask atheists and agnostics both online and in real life.

Like I said, I started reading about the occult in the late 80s.

I have regarded the Heaven/Hell paradigm with the Terrorist God as rather dumb for decades.

But it is like Donald Rumsfeld said, "The unknown unknown is a motherfucker!"

I get the impression that the "feeling of uncertainty" bothers most people. It does not bother me. I do not comprehend how people can believe that a 200 ton airliner could destroy a 500,000 ton building in less than 2 hours and not expect to be told the Distribution of STEEL up and down the 116 level structure with 6 levels below ground.

But the Bible thumping Christian would ask:
You're telling me you're more concerned with THAT....than where you'll spend "eternity"?????

A famous Mark Twain quote about heaven is: "Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company". Another well-known quote is: "Heaven is by favor; if it were by merit your dog would go in and you would stay out". Twain also humorously noted about the afterlife, "I don't like to commit myself about Heaven and Hell, you see, I have friends in both places".

What is the meaning of the word SHEOL? How often do Christians mention that?

Liberated. Free to live and do whatever I want without any type of conviction or judgment.

Accept it as the natural order of things. Life is a cycle.

Only in the form of whatever works we leave behind.

Otherwise, I believe our last breath is the end.

Absolutely. Suicide is a valid option for ending pain and suffering.

Absolutely not. If so, it would have revealed itself. We would know there was a higher form of intelligence.

It's all good. People who believe in something have been asking those questions for a long time. Countless books have been written too.

As the highest form of intelligence as far as we know, it stands to reason that human beings will have various beliefs.😎

And now for something completely different:

If God created the universe then didn't he have to know Einsteinian physics long before Einstein figured it out?

If you search the Bible for 'transla' you will find variations of the word 'translate' & three of them are associated with an Enoch character.

The Bible says:
And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah...
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Suppose God "translated" Enoch through space and time via Einsteinian physics and set him down on Earth 2000 years later and he told everyone that his name was Melchizedek?

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

What does the Bible say about Mel?

No Mother?

The author of Hebrews says that Melchizedek is "without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life."

{7:1} For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; {7:2} To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; {7:3} Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Taken literally, this would mean that Melchizedek is an eternal being.

Enoch would have been an adult popping in through a space-time transition. No need for a mother. He would not have a geneology. Not from any people who had lived through normal space-time for previous centuries.

Maybe God is not really mysterious, but just sneaky!

According to myth, the Supreme Being created eternal beings, angels, demons, etc.  Got it.😁

Ever since I was a kid, my question has always been how was the Supreme Being created.🤣😎

What is the meaning of the word SHEOL? How often do Christians mention that?

According to post-Babylonian Judaic Doctrine, Sheol (commonly translated as "hell" in English in the Old Testament of the Bible) is the place where souls go to rest and await Judgement.

Most Christians don't mention it because most of them don't know about it.
And even many if not most of the ones who DO, don't have a proper understanding of it.

If God created the universe then didn't he have to know Einsteinian physics long before Einstein figured it out?

I'm not atheist, so I believe in THE SUPREME BEING Who knows everything.
Literally EVERYTHING.
Including things we as humans can't even conceive.
What people are calling "Einsteinian physics" is almost nothing by comparison.

Salem was the name of Jeru-SALEM before the Israelites conquered and took control of it.
It was built by Canaanite and named after one of their Deities "Salem"

Speaking of which.....

When you read "Sons of God" in the Old Testament, that word is "Beni Elohim"  = Sons of Gods (plural)

Taken literally, this would mean that Melchizedek is an eternal being

We are all "eternal beings".
Not just Melchizedek but all humans, because although the body may die....the soul never dies.

Lol...internally, right??

Only in the form of whatever works we leave behind.

Interesting....
The Nation of Islam has similar beliefs.

What about children?
Do you believe people "live" on through their progeny?

Ever since I was a kid, my question has always been how was the Supreme Being created.

I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that THE SUPREME BEING wasn't created.
THE SUPREME BEING always existed...no beginning.

If internally means without guilt or fear of eternal d8mnation...correct.

Nope.  They have their own existence to live.

Imagine tracking down descendants of [insert great person here].  Some of them are raggedy as f8ck.🤣

Your understanding was correct also.

But if you look at things from the other end.
In a "seemingly" hopeless situation, you would absolutely not have any hope since you don't believe in anyone or anything to pray to for help.

I think you may have answered this before but do you believe humans have a "spirit" or "soul"?
An entity of consciousness BEYOND the physical body?

You said "humans".
Do you believe any other creature or Being does?

Nope. Until I see evidence or proof of something different I believe this existence is all we get and it's a wrap after that final breath.😎

So you're over 40, and I'm sure you've lost loved ones.
Friends and family you were close to.
Are you saying you haven't had ANY Spiritual experiences (including realistic feeling dreams) in which they have come back to you?

I have not. That's why I don't believe in it.😎

Nope. Don't believe in UAPs/UFOs either.

@frankster and I have a whole dialog on that subject.😁😎

For me its no longer a matter of "belief"

Its just common sense

Common sense isn't really...😁

If that common sense is working, roll with it until the wheels fall off.😎
