....But What About When Black Women Are Disrespected?

Recommended Posts

I've briefly followed a story recently where apparently some Asian man who was speaking at a beauty pageant talked rudely to a Mexican contestant and in a show of solidarity against his "racism" most of the women got up and walked out.

Here's a brother doing a show about the incident:

I have a few questions about this incident:

1. Although he was indeed rude, what did he say that was racist or anti Latino?

2. Do they consider just TALKING to a Latina woman in that manner "anti-Latino" or "anti-woman"?

3. When we see video after video of bosses, police officers, and other public figures talking rudely and even being violent with Black women...where is the solidarity with THEM?

4. Apparently the Director apologized....lost his position...and then came on and apologized some more.
Ok.
But he didn't have to....nor did he have to be fired.

This reminds me of incidents where LGBTQ members are insulted or disrespected and people come out apologizing and bending over backwards to make amends to them.
They don't have THAT much power or influence.
They certainly don't have the power or influence AfroAmericans have...yet they are often GIVEN more respect and concession for some reason.

They don't have to boycott stores or riot in the streets.
Yet so many people come running to their rescue at any HINT of disrespect.

Kudos to the women who walked out. I wonder how many stuck around because they didn't see or hear anything wrong.

i didn't hear racism in what dude said. I heard his cultural upbringing come out.

As an Asian man, he talked to her the way they do to their own women.

He only apologized due to embarrassment. He lost his job because the incident was publicized. Clearly, that wasn't his 1st time berating a woman.

In western society, I believe women are respected to a slightly hugher degree than within other cultures.

Black women and every other group in the US has a right and voice to stand up for themselves. It's not like those countries where they get killed for speaking up or too loudly.😎

My sentiments exactly.
It was rude the way he spoke to her, but I didn't hear racism.
This is one of the reasons this incident got my attention.
They love to get on Black folks for calling something "racist" when they FEEL there is no evidence that race had anything to do with it, yet so many people are doing that very same thing with THIS incident.

And really, it was the same with the attacks on Asian people that USED to happen a few years back but all of a sudden magically disappeared.
They showed Asian people being attacked but outside of it being non-Asians doing the attacking....there was no actual evidence that the assaults were racially motivated.
Yet the media MADE race a factor in it and so did Congress.

It seems that whether words are exchanged or not....most people instinctively know that if a person of ONE race is attacked or mistreated by a person of ANOTHER race....racism is usually a factor.

And you know what?
They have  BLACK MEN to thank for that!
Not just Black women but ALL women should be thanking Black men for that comfort!

Why?

Because White, Arab, Latino, and Asian men all know that WE are the viable alternative if their own men don't treat them right and start trying to control them too much and abuse them.

Back in their own countries where there are no other men....especially Black men...around as competition, they treat their women any kind of way and dog them out.
The women have no other options BUT to put up with it.
But in America where they work, live around, and go to school with Black men on a routine basis and probably already had a brutha or two push up on them and have heard stories from their friends who HAVE been with Black men, they KNOW their value and KNOW that the man they're ain't the only option.

THEY know it and the MEN of their communities know it too.
So as long as that Black dick is in the vicinity....they're scare out of their wits to treat their woman the way they really WANT to treat her because they know it's so easy for her to take a stroll over to the Black side.

This includes White women.

If Black men weren't in this country, White women would be all wrapped up in bonnets and forced to have babies living in worse conditions than those women under the Taliban.

Slow down bro.

Most women are raised in a culture where they accept being 2nd to men.

The main reason a non-Black woman leaves an abusive man and runs into the arms of another man is for security and protection.

S8x is not a woman's highest priority. Survival which includes security and protection comes first.

There's a reason white women don't say too much against white men and vote the way they do as well.😎

While this is true, it doesn't contradict or conflict with the point I just made about us (Black men) being a viable alternative that the men of their community consider when dealing with their women in America.

Agreed.
OR....to just get away from the abuse; even if the man she runs to isn't very protective.

When folks ask why would a child run away from home and live on the streets, maybe they need to understand how abusive and violent the situation that child faced AT home.
The streets may be harsh and callous but STILL better than the constant violence they faced at home.

Likewise.....

A woman running into the arms of a Black man who makes less money and doesn't offer her much protection may be a whole lot better than staying with a wealthy man who is extremely insecure, accusatory, and whooping her ass every day and threatening to kill her.

Depends on the woman....lol...but I understand your point.

You're talking about MOST White women.

Keep in mind that a large minority of them:
a) Seek out and prefer Black men
b) Vote Democrat/Liberal and often for Black politicians like Obama or Harris

There are multiple reasons for this, but one of which is Black men usually offer that viable alternative to the more dominant domineering ultra-controlling and abusive White man.

Sure. Black men are a viable alternative. It goes the other way too. Black women are looking at non-Black men.

I just don't believe our mere presence in the vicinity keeps non-Black men in check when it comes to women of their race or culture.

Both women and men choose to go outside their race/culture for any reason(s) or none at all. No different from buying an exotic pet.😁😎

Facts.
.....for different reasons.
But facts, none the less.

Because I don't know for sure what's going on in the minds of these other non-Black men, perhaps our mere presence doesn't.
However there is EVIDENCE (by deductive reasoning) that it does.

What do I mean?

Keep in mind I'm talking about FBA men...not all or any Black man.
These other groups could care less about African men because many African men will keep their head down and pretend not to see their women being abused or mistreated.

Also keep in mind that when I say "FBA men" I'm also including Black Caribbeans like Jamaicans and Haitians because they also descended from Slavery and share similar experiences and traditions.

In countries where FBA men AREN'T there in noticeable numbers, you see more abuse and traditional hardline treatment of women of all groups.

However in countries where FBA men DO exist in large numbers...like the United States obviously, but also Canada, England, and France....all women tend to be treated better regardless of race or ethnicity.
They experience more respect, more sexual freedom, and tend to be more outspoken.

Some would say one has little or nothing to do with the other.
But having closely examined some of these societies...I would argue differently and say that the confidence these women have is as a DIRECT result of our presence among them.

I still believe it is a cultural thing with those dudes treating their women like 2nd class citizens.

The main reason those same dudes treat their women *better* here in the US is because of the laws. They don't wanna end up in the penalty box.

I don't believe the number of FBA men in those other countries is significant enough to make a difference to the white men there.

White countries seem to be less restrictive than other countries where they keep women covered up and won't let them learn or drive.😁

White men are willing to sacrifice women especially if 1) they don't really want for themselves and 2) use them to weaken Black men.

Surely, white men don't care about giving up those less than attractive white women Black men seem to bun up.🤣😎
