Pioneer1 Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 Government shutdown updates: USDA tells states to 'undo' issuing any SNAP benefits Government shutdown updates: USDA tells states to 'undo' issuing any SNAP benefits -How do you "undo" benefits that were issued out? Especially if they've been spent?
ProfD Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 Reads like states are being asked not to issue any benefits. It would be impossible to reclaim spent funds. They clearly want people to feel the pain of not being able to buy groceries. I'm slightly curious to see how much the system can bend before all h8ll breaks loose.

I think most of the people who voted for Trump do, also. They KNEW that his Administration would bring chaos and a disruption of the system, which is what they wanted in the first place. For various reasons.

D8mn shame that they get paid while not doing their jobs. Nevermind that most of them are already rich. Ridiculous. 1
richardmurray Posted November 11 Report Posted November 11 @ProfD yeah The senate have confirmed so it is up to the house and the republican was made in the house so case closed. I do think the focus should be schumer's leadership. Regardless of what one thinks of the donkey's or elephants, schumer is supposed to be the leader of the donkeys in the senate and some broke ranks, technically only seven broke ranks. Angus King is an independent from maine, not a donkey. but Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., and Maggie Hassan, D-N.H. ,Dick Durbin of Illinois; John Fetterman of Pennsylvania are all northeasters while Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen of Nevada are not. https://aalbc.com/tc/events/event/584-the-shutdown-ends-potentially/

I wonder about that too. This is crazy! But I knew that this was going to happen due to the actions of President Trump back in July! This statement was on the main internet board in the State of Maryland issued by Governor Wes Moore's office: Governor Wes Moore H.R. 1 (2025) was signed into law by President Trump on July 4, 2025. The new law directly impacts Maryland’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by changing who is eligible, reducing benefit amounts, and increasing the cost of funding the program. The new law imposes work requirements on up to 80,000 additional Marylanders. https://dhs.maryland.gov/important-changes-snap-benefits/#:~:text=H.R. 1 (2025) was signed,up to 80%2C000 additional Marylanders. ____________________________________________________ [I am also quoting AI about this statement, however, if you pulled up the Social Security Site in Maryland, this statement was on the main page]: On July 4, 2025, a new federal law (H.R. 1, the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025") was signed that implemented significant changes to the federal SNAP program, ... benefit amount reductions for many Marylanders. Governor Wes Moore's statements regarding SNAP around that date and since have primarily focused on the negative impact of these federal changes on Maryland residents and the state's efforts to mitigate the harm caused by the federal government's actions, particularly amid the recent government shutdown in November 2025. _________________________________________________ The statement on the website continued to state that Governor Moore issued from the State funds 50% of SNAP benefits to Marylanders who are dependent . on these benefits due to it being an emergency, and did not gree with the federal government still urging the States to withhold SNAP funds. What an incredible man[!]-- Governor Wes Moore. How can this government go after the poor and oppressed and think that it will be okay. Not only did they hurt little children, but senior citizens, as I am, were also hurt. Many many not believe me, but back on July 4th, when the flood catastrophe happened, I strongly believe that many of the conservative Republicans saw this occurrence as being detrimental and abruptly spoke out against President Trump! A lot of strange phenomena have been occurring since July of 2025 because this date correlates to the Creator God as well. On July 1, 2025, the 3I Atlas Star came close enough in our Solar System to finally be detected on instruments. On July 9, 2025, the international science world reported that the Earth speed was significant on that date. On July 9, 586 B.C., the First Temple of God [Solomon] was destroyed byway of the Chaldean forces that invaded Jerusalem. Then, 586 years later, the Second Temple of God [Herod's] was also destroyed and some say, it was destroyed by the Romans on July 9. Strange things are happening. Pioneer1 Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Now think about that..... People who are so poor that they need to receive food stamps and assistance....are being told they must WORK in order get the benefits! Most people outside of America would reason that if a person had a job and were working they WOULDN'T NEED food assistance to begin with! Reminds me of that scene in Friday when Ice Cube asked his mother for $300 and she said she didn't feel comfortable loaning him the money because he didn't have a job. And he told her that if he HAD a job he wouldn't need the damn loan!

Pioneer1 Posted yesterday at 12:53 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:53 PM ProfD Some people work jobs that pay a minimum wage. It is not enough to pay bills and buy groceries. Food stamps supplement their income. Many folks have a job and still live from one paycheck to the next. They borrow money to make ends meet. I know, that's why I said this is how it looks to most people OUTSIDE of America. As American citizens....we ALREADY know what's up. Half of the people working have to rely on government assistance because most of the jobs are unreliable and don't pay enough. But the very THOUGHT of forcing someone who doesn't have a job to begin with....to "work" in order to be provided with the basics for survival is down right inhumane to most people around the world. I find it a bit ironic that for decades when the American family was somewhat intact and the jobs were plentiful and paid well....welfare was also generous. ANYBODY could get an apartment in the projects....single or married....children or none...male or female. ANYBODY could get on welfare and stay generation after generation. As soon as they moved most of the good paying jobs overseas and broke up the family unit to the point where everybody went their own separate ways and you couldn't rely on a father in the home or your children to help take care of you.....THEN all of a sudden they start restricting welfare benefits, limited who could and couldn't qualify to live in government housing and eventually tore down the projects, and started putting limits on who could get welfare. The IMMIGRANTS are able to survive and thrive in this economy because they are still living like OUR people used to live 100 years ago with the extended family all living in one house and pooling their money together.

Right. What the people around the world may not know is there are able-bodied people here in the USA between 18-59 years of age who refuse to work. There are able-bodied American citizens who would rather spend their time and energy collecting SNAP benefits and selling them for cash to buy cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or go to the casino. The government calls itselt trying to crack down on the SNAP and Medicaid benefits scammers.

Jesse Jackson said.... "But....we....can't....throw...the BABY...out....with...the.....bath water. Keep hope alive! The...scriptures said...but whatso'eva....you do...for...the least of these....you do also for me. Keep hope alive!" Lol...... We shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Far more people NEED welfare than those who are abusing it. Infact, some of those who are abusing it actually need it too....but they just go too far sometimes. Sure we got a lot of scammers out there but the amount of money this nation loses do to welfare fraud is MINIMAL compared to the amount it GIVES AWAY on an annual basis to foreign nations who aren't even citizens or tax payers. It's like punishing YOUR child and sending them to bed hungry because he took a cookie without your permission, but you're throwing parties for other neighborhood children every weekend. You might be making a point, but you're neglecting YOUR OWN responsibilities in doing so. It's obvious that most of these Republicans and Conservatives are just trying to GET RID of social safety nets like welfare and they're USING "scammers" and "fraud" and "abuse" as excuses to justify their callous desires.
