All-White Jury Selected in Karmelo Anthony Trial

The trial of Karmelo Anthony is more proof that race is still a major factor of division here in the USA in 2026.

An all-white jury has already been selected in McKinney, Texas.

Nevermind the fact that this young man was defending himself in the stand your ground state of Texas.

Many believe the trial is nothing more than a dog & pony show where the fix is already in that this young man will be found guilty.

As unfortunate as it would be, I would not be surprised by that outcome. I hope a miracle prevails & he's found not guilty.

Tears & T-shirts & protests & marches have proven to be ineffective.

At some point, Black folks have to take action to keep ourselves from being victimized & railroaded under the system of racism white supremacy.😎

When I first heard the story I was like what in the world did the former SU and NBA basketball star get himself into?!

Then I saw the spelling of the name and stopping paying attention. Is it even possible to know what happened?

Is there any surprise a Black man in Texas would not get a fair deal from the criminal justice system.

What do you suggest?

Yet, there's no shortage of Black faces in high places in Texas.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett & Rep. Al Green & Black law enforcement & judicial folks should have done everything possible to insure that young man gets a fair trial.

For starters, AfroAmericans should stop spending their money in non-Black businesses & stop trying to live in non-Black areas.

It's bad enough that Black folks cannot protect themselves from racists & white supremacists.

Even harder to protect the most vulnerable when our people live in predominantly white areas.😎

I was also confused by the name the defendant shared with an NBA player. Now, I remember this case.

Such a shame. Not so long ago a case like this would've spurred a lynch party to take the law in its own hands. They say this crime has split its community along racial lines.

It's just so unfortunate how the disputes between young people nowadays can end in murder.

The defendant and his white victim were on the same high school track team and there was bad blood between them with the black kid ending up stabbing the white one to death.

Young black people do not seem to be aware of how hard to get away with murdering a white person is. No matter what the circumstances, the consequences are brutal, not worth ruining your life for.

There's a documentary currently streaming out there called "Crash" about a white high school student who had a "mean girl" reputation and who, when her boyfriend started to get fed up with her possessiveness, she took him and his black buddy for a high speed auto ride, driving up to100 mph, ending up deliberately crashing into a brick wall, totalling the car and killing her 2 passengers. She managed to survive and the documentary focuses on how so steeped she was in her sense of entitlement, that she exhibited little remorse or guilt.

But, a jury did find her guilty and she was given 15 years to life.

During a phone conversation with her mother from the woman's reformatory where she is serving her time, she complained about being "bored", still showing no guilt, enabled by her doting mother who blamed the prison authorities for not catering to her daughter.

And, of course, she has appealed her sentence.

I don't know what the moral of these 2 cases is. But murdering someone who displeased you, is never a good idea.

Supposedly, the Black kid murdered the white kid in self-defense. We'll find out more as the trial progresses. Again, Texas does have stand your ground law.

In the Crash situation, the mean girl is standing her ground by exhibiting her sense of entitlement & white privilege. The question is why does she even have a documentary.

Suge Knight gets to do interviews regarding various culture issues from prison but his perspective/commentary is entertaining.🤣😎

@ProfD he stabbed the kid to death. They were on the same team. I don't know what happened, but there is little in my book that would justify snuffing out someone's life.

Now if the white kid was a shot-putter and the Black kids could not take him without a weapon, OK, but still murder is too high a price -- what did the white boy actually do to the Brother?

The same reason Charley Mason does sociopaths are prime entertainment for some people.

It helps to know the facts of the case. There is more to it.

The kids were at the same track event but not on the same team.

The Black kid did not just pull a knife & unalive the white kid.

Basically, the white kid confronted the Black kid in a threatening manner.

Black kid told him to back-off. White kid FAFO & now he's no longer here.

White people like to sensationalize their gangsters, serial killers & murderers.😎

I got my impression about the Karmelo Anthony case from a TV news segment that featured an interview with the victim's twin brother, and maybe his version was biased.

So, did the black guy just happen to be carrying a knife with him to a track meet? There seems to be some kind of a history to the hostilities. Did this all stem from poor sportsmanship?

I also understand that there are black women in the alternate jury pool.

ProfD

I think in this case protests and marches should be the first line of defense and put into effect to SEE if it helps change the jury.

Any competent lawyers for the defense should make it a point that an all White jury is clearly not a jury of "his peers" and demand a new selection before the trial goes forward.

At some point, Black folks have to take action to keep ourselves from being victimized & railroaded under the system of racism white supremacy

This has been known and preached since atleast the days of the Panthers back in the 60s.
Some Black folks have done this...some have not.

There SHOULD be surprise.....

There are literally MILLIONS of Black folks IN Texas!

Infact, according to a google search there are nearly 4 million Black folks in Texas making it the state with the largest Black population by numbers.

What is the Black population busy doing down there that they can't DEMAND a fair deal from the criminal justice system?

Exactly. There's no shortage of us in Texas.

You're right. Black folks can pile up in those fancy vehicles they like to drive & head to McKinney. 😁😎

LOL!!!

Well, protesting would atleast be a START.

As one of my uncles used to say, there's a right way and wrong way to do anything.....and sometimes you have to go through the PROCEDURE to look civilized.

You don't start off with a gang of gatted up niccaz with shades on busting through the doors making threat....lol.

Efforts should be made to the DA, state officials, as well as trying to get the Federal government involved to correct this imbalance.
Meanwhile there should be organized and effective protests on the ground level.

You must play CHESS....not just checkers.

@ProfD According to the TV magazine program "Inside Edition", during the track meet where the defendant and the victim were both present, it stated to rain. One team put up an open air tent where they retreated under for shelter. The black kid decided to join them to escape the weather and the victim told him to leave since he wasn't a member of their team. They got into it and the victim who was taller and huskier became aggressive and Kamelo Anthony, fearing for his safety, produced a knife and stabbed him in the chest, killing him.

Anthony might be considered a trespasser and the stand your ground defense may not apply.

Right. An all-white jury could definitely be in agreement.

Among several things that could be in Anthony's favor is the pocket-knife with its 3.5 inch blade doesn't meet the criteria of a deadly weapon.

Had the situation been flipped around, there wouldn't be a trial. The white folks would have insisted their own stood his ground & the Black got what he deserved for being a bully.

The case shows that in 2026 there is still a racial divide in the USA no matter how many folks choose to bury their heads in the sand believing it's not.😎

Only for those who believe in the concept of race...lol.
For those who believe that race is just some "social construct" that doesn't really exist......they think things are just fine, lol.

How myopic the above observation is. Nobody here denies the existence of the human race. That's a curious accusation coming from a "forked tongue" patriot.
