January 18, 20197 yr comment_32693 The original Statue of Liberty is a good example of the presence of Black women being whitewashed out of history. The original Statue of Liberty that France offered was that of a Black woman holding up her arms with a light to show others the way to America where they could also find freedom. But America rejected this statue for the more androgynous one we currently have that you can't even tell is a man or woman, lol. Report
