I’m African and Proud

I’m African and Proud! is a beautifully illustrated children’s book written to educate African-American children about their rich heritage. Written by a teacher for her students, this book can be used in the classroom or given as a gift to motivate young children. Jwajiku Korant?ma, or Lacey Haywood, as she is also known, is a former kindergarten teacher who seeks to inspire children with the knowledge of their ancestral heritage. Jwajiku is a mother, poet, dancer, and world traveler who has shared her inspiring message in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Ghana, and throughout the US. She hopes her words will help young children strive for a higher level of achievement and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
