#readingblack What it Means and Why It Matters — Sacramento, CA

Saturday, June 2rd 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

This workshop is a follow-up to the workshop, “The Impact of Amazon, Google, and Facebook on the Black Book Ecosystem,” which was given during the 2017 festival. In 2017, we discussed the problems faced by Black bookstores, publishing companies, publishing professionals, and authors — the “Black Book Ecosystem.” This year we propose and explore possible solutions.

If you care about Black culture, who tells our stories, and who profits from the activity, then this workshop is for you. Troy Johnson will give a presentation that will last approximately 50 minutes, which will be followed by a question and answer session. Come share your ideas, and thoughts, and let’s uplift Black literature. Free for all to attend.
