ProfD Some say their faith in Christianity helped them make it through, other's say that that same faith was a detriment to the community. That same "faith" prevented many of the men (or encouraged the women to DISCOURAGE the boys and men) from committing acts of desperation that would either have gotten the entire community killed....or free.

Troy Being born of racist is about as likely as being “born” a Methodist. People aren't born Methodists, but human beings ARE born predisposed to being religious. Most humans have a natural inclination towards ritual also. When I say "born" racist I mean having a natural or innate inclination towards that mentality that increases and matures with natural development. Kind of like a sexual orientation. I can guarantee you’ve never raised children in a multicultural environment. You better not bet money on it.....lol. I have and I am...lol. I've raised children in a Black environment and I'm currently raising children in a mixed or multiracial/multicultural environment. Not only have I seen elements of "colorism" and "featurism" among THEM that they've picked up from other AfroAmerican kids raised in a household without love for self -that we've had to constantly correct and eliminate; but now that we're in a more "multiracial/multicultural" environment it's even worse because we have to counter and eliminate the low self esteem that comes from constantly being in an environment where most of the players don't look like them. And when they've brought White and Latino friends home, I could CLEARLY see the racist tendencies in these kids and how they acted. Just hanging around Black kids didn't mean they weren't racist. Dude, we live in a white racist culture that is the reason racism exists, but it’s on a decline. the country is not nearly as racist at once was. Is that a fact? If so, do you think a person like Donald Trump could have gotten elected 30 years ago in the 90s? Do you think a President would have been able to call a entire group of Black people "garbage" or Black nations "shit hole countries" 30 years ago?

@Pioneer1 these relationships seem to fly in the face of your ideas about racism. It’s still not clear to me why you have such difficulty with Chilli, Chaka Khan and the millions of other people who enter into relationships with people you understand is being in different races.

Ignoring a hyperbole, white folks will get their houses taken if they fail to pay that note. They would’ve won most victimize in 2008. Churches are busy between Christmas programs and holiday parties and services. Christianity has shackled Black folks for hundreds of years. Their faith allows them to make it through this existence. Religion It is such an eentrenched part or life for so many people that the chain will probably never be broken. Not that believers want to be free.

Humm. Would you believe that I like to sing, and harmonize? That's why I liked the old vocal group the 4 Freshmen so much because of their perfect harmony, and why I am a big fan of the love ballads of the 1950s because they have such strong melodies and exquisite lyrics. Music has always tranquilized me, and provided me with a sanctuary. Back in my salad days, I had no inhibitions, after a few drinks, about hopping on stage in the intimate little jazz clubs I frequented with my bffs and later my husband-to-be, and breaking out in a song, welcomed there by the musicians, some of whom I knew. There was also this song which was a favorite of me and my husband. One reason he liked it was because he thought I sounded just like the vocalist who sang it. OK, back to your private dialog.

When the Witnesses come knocking at my door I don't hide from them or pretend I'm not home, I INVITE THEM IN...lol. Make some tea or coffee and invite them for a religious discussion. By the time the water gets hot or the coffee is finished brewing....they're usually down the street knocking on somebody else's door and looking back at me smiling and quickly looking in another direction...LOL.

Not really. I grew up in a religious family. Spent many years being dragged to church too. I'm not religious because I know the contradictions and hypocrisy of it. Despite my agnosticism, I don't discourage others from their beliefs. Like drugs and alcohol, if religion allows people to escape or deal with this reality, as long as they aren't bringing hurt, harm or danger to others, I'm not one to get in their way. Now, when folks run up on me with their religious stuff, I have no problems giving them the bizness. Especially those Jehovah Witness folks.

That explains why you're not religious. Perhaps you haven't been in a situation that you couldn't see your way out of and lost hope. Those type of situations often drive people to drugs, alcohol, or religion as a way to escape the frustration of not being able to deal with the situation.

Absolutely not. it doesn't bother me one bit because I've always been extremely self-confident and a go-getter. Because I've always been able to get whatever I need and/or want, I've never had a reason to be jealous or envious of anyone else. I'm 100% human. Because I function at a high level but tend to be emotionally cold, some folks have accused me of being a robot.

ProfD I remember having a conversation with you a while back about musicians, drug use, and creativity.....and you stating that you didn't use drugs and didn't need it for your musical abilities. Not that you're not already honest, but be PERFECTLY honest.....lol...... Does it bother you at all that some dude with a Crack or Heroin problem and has been on the shit for years but was born with some sort of talent can come up in a studio and make a HIT song or even album and a shit load of money on it? Get all that money. Fuck all of it up in dope. Then do it all over again next year? *PS Man, if you say "no"....I'm going to question whether YO' ass is human or AI....lol

It's all good. The entertainment industry is filled with folks flip flopping back and forth across them streets. Because we live in a *free* society, folks get to treat it like a seafood buffet when it comes to relationships. Rest assured that most people tend to stay within their own racial or ethnic group.

They were born compromised. Unfortunately, we do not have the technological capability of fixing those birth defects. Several factors go into becoming successful including preparation, opportunities and luck. There's no rationalization for why some folks win without trying while others try really hard and do *right* only to come up short. Also, keep in mind that just as some folks are born with birth defects, there are other folks whon are born gifted and/or talented in different ways.

I too have some relatives, some friends, and some acquaintances who fit this description also. Some of whom are more financially well off than I am. Many of them were also more socially successful. Able to talk their way into any type of relationship be it financial, sexual, social, business, etc.; like you said...not while they're high....but when they were sober. Again, this didn't describe MOST of the alcoholics or addicts that I knew and know...but a percentage of them. I'd say less than 10% of the alcoholics and drug addicts that I knew were high achievers in something. But the vast majority of them fell into the NORMAL range of intellect. On the flip side, there are plenty of people with Autism and Retardation who never drank, use drugs, or smoked a cigarette....but this didn't improve their intellect. At the risk of sounding a bit jealous...... Although I don't think they were necessarily rewarded for doing the "wrong" thing, it's a bit confusing and frustrating at how some people who constantly do the "wrong" thing can end up in a better position than those who supposedly did the "right" thing. We do know that excessive drugs and alcohol kills off braincells. So I'm wondering did they have an excess amount of "disposable" braincells or something that they could afford to fuck them up and STILL have a well functioning brain...lol.

Chaka Khan is my favorite singer on the planet. Yet, Chaka she went across the street back in the 1970s: Before Chaka married Richard Holland, she was married to Hassan Khan: Chaka also lived in Germany for a while. As a free spirit, I would be surprised if she didn't have a German escapade too.

Some of my favorite relatives fit into that category. Right. Liver gets the worst of abuse. Lungs and heart take a beating too. Your dad had enough of some fat white man in a suit getting credit for his hard work. Capitalists don't give a d8mn about which class of people are using drugs and alcohol. They're all about getting paid one way or three. Drug and alcohol use and abuse feeds into many other aspects of the economy. Right. They will push anything it takes to make people feel more productive. Instead of getting the proper amount of sleep and rest, folks are pushing themselves to cram more awake time into their endeavors whether it's work, school or play. Energy drinks and pills are gateway drugs.

They could have them too. One doesn't have enough ass and the other sounds too much like a man. I'll let you decide who fits which description...lol But if they would have taken CHAKA KHAN..... That would have been WAR...lol
