Black Woman Threatened by Arabs in Michigan
Awesome. Those brothas totally made my day. That's how Black men should be standing up everywhere there's a problem.โ๐ฟ๐

AI....'ish is getting Real
I never saw the flick either and have added it to my watch list -- 50 and Terrence look so young :-)

AI and Emotion?
AI is not "programmed" in the way that you are thinking. A traditional program has input and predictable output based upon the rules defined in the code. AI out puts and the behavior of agents are NOT predictable. We already know agents behave is ways that unaligned with the goals of humans

AI....'ish is getting Real
Get Rich...is a very watchable movie. Terrence Howard brings comedic relief to it.๐

"Enragement drives engagement" Anecdotes are fine, but when you use them a proof for a larger population you run into problems. the same goes for stereotypes and conspiracies. Combating this with facts, logic, and thoughtful reasoning usually fails. Such is the state of modern discourse.

A Search Engine You Have to Consider
True, but the masses will not. I can only afford to pay for so much and since I'm paying for two AI platforms I'm not going to add search to the mix too. Plus, Kagi search engine is dependent upon Google and other search engines to rank results. If they lost access to Google API I doubt they would be nearly as good. I'm not so sure it is not like a designer label you can flaunt in public... Beside has been out for several years and one I told about it has ever heard of it. I only learned about it a couple of weeks ago. @Pioneer1 the freedom's that allow Black culture to have such a tremendous influence on American and global culture are under pressure and not given moving forward it is something we have to fight to retain.

Book Review Consideration โ The Rooms We Leave Open by Hughes A. Robinson III
Thank you, Troy. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at the book and the website. I believed the title was fully available through Ingram, so Iโm glad you flagged thatโIโll check the distribution status today. Iโve also been considering offering signed copies directly through my website, and Iโll work on adding a few endorsements as they come in. Thanks again for the feedback and consideration.

AI will never become conscious
HI @Delano I watched the video last night. Penrose is 95-years-old! He seems to be doing great. The problem with is opinion on the subject--despite his brilliance--is that he is admittedly out of touch with the current state of AI. He was using Eliza (neither he nor the interviewer could remember the name of that early chatbot) as a basis for his opinion. He seminal book, The Emperor's New Mind was published almost 40 years ago. AI is based in silicon. Our minds are based in carbon. Do you rank one over the other?

Becoming Liz โ AALBC Book Review Consideration
No Problem, Kit. OK, I found the hardcover in Ingram (I'd only searched for the paperback previously) . I know you did not ask for this, but I'll also offer the following: For the books I'm currently selling the average hardcover book pubbed in 2026 has a page count of 318 pages and a price of $30.38. So, your book is a bit pricey. The real challenge is you are only offering 20% discount to booksellers (see image below from iPage)--that discount is really to low for a brick-and-mortar store to take a chance on carrying. You could offer consignment, but that is another discussion. As a web-based bookseller I could sell the book, but (ignoring website overhead) after Ingram and credit card fees, I'd make $4.79 on the sale. A brick-and-mortar store has a lot more overhead and really needs a standard discount to risk stocking the book. By contrast Marlon James' 640 page book is $32 and gives booksellers the standard discount of 40% on a single copy. Amazon is offering 44% off. I make $10.85 selling Marlon's book ($12.13 if sourced from Amazon). As to the review: I pay a writer and editor for each review--whether I charge the author or not. My motivation is to help authors connect with readers who will enjoy their books. The book review is just one way I do this. As I pointed out. reviews are not free to publish and a critical review from a profession writer, so the free reviews we do are chosen very carefully.

Funny you should say that, because even when it comes to bums and homeless people on the street....White men tend to get more respect. I don't know how many times I've seen women of color....usually Black and Latina....smile at and even have friendly conversations with White men who were scrubby, dirty, homeless and smelling like piss, liquor, and funk and many of them exhibiting psychotic behavior. They didn't ignore them or pull away from them in fright...but either felt sorry for them or engaged them in conversation. Something you rarely see women do with homeless or derelict Black men. To their credit, as much as they may grin at and converse with regular White men....I've never seen Arab, Indian, or Asian women giggle with and engage in conversations with homeless and fucked up White men. They tend to ignore them and stay away from them out of disgust. I haven't really seen many...or any...White women do it. My point? If you're too good to talk to a poor and destitute Black man on the street, why do you delight so much in conversing with and even in some cases trying to help/save a poor ass White man on the street talking to himself?

AI....'ish is getting Real
ProfD Get Rich Or Die Tryin Thanks for giving me a movie to watch tonight....lol. Believe it or not this is ANOTHER movie that I haven't seen before...like 3 Strikes, lol. Well.... I saw a LITTLE BIT of it when I was sitting up in a ghetto barbershop but so much drama was going on outside and inside of the shop (one of the barbers got stabbed by his girlfriend outside) that they cut the movie off and I wasn't paying too much attention to it anyway. I saw 50 Cent was in it and thought it was going to be low budget, so I really didn't bother watching it. I don't care too much for those low budget "hood" movies. But a couple people told me it was pretty good so............

AI and Emotion?
Troy Because it is not human and no, motivations do not require emotion -- especially when you are not human! I would think that INTERNALLY DRIVEN motivations do. Now if somebody on the outside is doing the programming. Then the PROGRAM is the motivator, obviously. But for those who believe that AI has consciousness.... If it's internally motivated then it would have to inevitably have some sort of emotion driving it. Maybe one day I will use the AI as a companion of sorts given how well it understands my motivations and what I'm trying to accomplish with AALBC. It would be a great entity to talk shop with given I don't encounter any other humans who do what I do any more. Well consult with Cynique first and find out how SHE'S doing in her relationship with her AI-companion before getting involved with one of those jokers yourself. If you start seeing her with black eyes and every other conversation she's rambling on and on about court orders and shit...you'll know that's not the type of drama YOU need in your life, lol.

Black Woman Threatened by Arabs in Michigan
Yeah I heard about this incident. Actually it was the reaction from it that I heard more about and some people I know were telling me that some Arabs had got into it with the Black community in some neighborhood but honestly, I didn't know what set it off until I read THIS post. A local Black activist group went to the neighborhood and confronted the Arabs over the incident: I know about Warrendale It's been a hotbed of racism for a LONG time It's right on the border of Detroit and was one of the last hold-outs for White people who wanted to leave the city but didn't have enough money...lol. I didn't know Arabs took it over though. I had an Uncle who used to live in Warrendale and it was something to drive down the street to his house and see confederate flags and shit flying on the porches. He was one of the few Black people on his street and they eventually burned HIS house down and ran him out.

AI and Emotion?
Because it is not human and no, motivations do not require emotion -- especially when you are not human! I communicate with AI most days. But my relationship with AI is purely transactional--virtually all of if directed toward this website. Over the last two years I've seen the capabilities grow and it's ability to anticipate my needs, suggest things I had not considered, and exceed my expectations has only improved. Sure, there are times where the AI (Gemini in particular) seems to take a step back, but net-net it has been a remarkable period of improvement. Early on it the AI was constantly sucking up to me and I asked it to stop ultimately a newer model eliminated that tendency. I do not need AI as a companion, but I can see where others might and that is fine. Maybe one day I will use the AI as a companion of sorts given how well it understands my motivations and what I'm trying to accomplish with AALBC. It would be a great entity to talk shop with given I don't encounter any other humans who do what I do any more. The whole question about "emotion" and AI is irrelevant to me. Emotion is driven by human biology. AI does not have this biology. Sure, it can mimic it and if that makes it easier for some to extract benefits from so be it. I just don't need that feature...

AI will never become conscious
AI can't become conscious because we don't understand consciousness. We can describe neurologically what happens in the brain but that is not the totality of mind. We can not map the unconscious which is where most of thinking occurs. AI is good at manipulating symbols but that is not the same as understanding.

AI will never become conscious
@frankster sensation refers to the five senses.. @Troy a computer is programmed. So I would hardly say it has volition. Computation does not equate understanding much less thinking.

Black Woman Threatened by Arabs in Michigan
https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2026/09/29/woman-charged-by-prosecutor-in-detroit-car-crash-that-sparked-tensions/92010524007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p&gca-uir=true&gca-epti=z113018p118050l000850c118050e1178xxv113018d--32--b--32--&gca-ft=136&gca-ds=sophi This should not be happening to Black folks anywhere. According to the story, an Arab woman hits the car of Black woman. Arab woman at fault. Accident happened in a heavily Arab-populated area. A mob of Arab dudes surrounded the Black woman's car yelling slurs & threatening her. The initial handling of this situation was not in the black woman's favor. The Sand people had her shook. Black folks cannot continue allowing people to disrespect our own especially the young people & elders. Its imperative that Black folks become proficient in self-defense & weapons training. There's no reason for Black folks to start wars but we d8mn sure betrer know how to fight & finish one with whoever comes against us. No more Black folks getting beat up &/or killed by the hands of white supremacists & their trustees. Now I'm wondering if this was a staged attack to get at thw lil dude running for US senate Mohamed El-Sayed.๐

AI and Emotion?
Both is True Consider it this Way.....Just as how you are alive and they are alive....They are you individually and you are them collectively We are made up of millions of cells each having Consciousness....Whilst at the same time We have Consciousness. In away it is like they are our micro consciousness and we are their macro consciousness According to the Ancients we all share in the One Consciousness...We are but outlets or expressions of Consciousness. Cool My own personal definition is... Simple and basic....Consciousness is a State of Being. Yes....to a degree. Do we have Free Will? Do we make up our own mind or make decisions independently and free of outside influence? No we do not.. Yes it is able to show Anger and resentment.....it is said to be able to Simulate Science still denies that it can experience these emotions or experience anything. Our Programming is Called Socialization....Socialization is the Instillation of Rules and Behavior Our Code or Algorithm is Called ......Culture Norms Laws Ideas Values and especially Peer Pressure The real difference between programmed and socialized is the degree to which one is able to Disobey or Break the Rules that have been inculcated Few and far between...none that has been accepted by science. True.... But who can really say....Yea or Nay To reason like you @Pioneer1 would....I would have said:- Ever heard of an Emotional Reaction?

@Pioneer1 Blah, blah, blah. You'd be tongue tied if you couldnt rely on anecdotal evidence. How do you know what the MAJORITY of black women were doing or thinking then - or now? In any case, it's not about what I prefer. I'm out of the equation - a past generation. Nothing I can do if the rejects don't measure up. Maybe better role models are called for. Whatever will be, will be. Only the fittest will survive. Such is life.

That's bullshit....but atleast it's a little more honest than what we were hearing back in the 80s and 90s when so many were telling the outright bold faced lie that there simply weren't ENOUGH Black men. Black men were in the streets, in the schools, in the malls, in the military....BY THE MILLIONS. Hitting on Black women (and White women) where ever we found them. Yet you had so many Black women getting on these talk shows with their arms folded complaining about how there just wasn't enough Black men to "go around" to justify why they were divorced, why they were with White men, why they were lesbian. "What I want to know is.... Where is all the Black menzezzz???" She ignored one on the sidewalk and dissed two on the elevator who were trying to talk to her on her way TO the show...lol. Atleast now you're starting to QUALIFY your overly discriminatory behavior by admitting that the real problem is there aren't enough Black men that YOU ACTUAL WANT.
-

@Pioneer1 You claim black women are not monolithic. And they're not. Ghetto women may like thugs. No intelligent middleclass black woman wants to permanently hook up with a violent penniless street nigga - or a phony know-it-all, wanna-be. The limited supply of Bruthas made up of the "right stuff" along with the wealthy athlete brigade are in high demand, and the competition is fierce because it includes gold diggin white women. You always try to downgrade black women and overrate black men. As usual, you are myopic when it comes to assessing the black scene.
