@Pioneer1Not a chance, Not giving you an opportunity to put your malicious spin on what I say so you can go into your distortion/exaggeration mode, as in changing, "frequenting intimate jazz clubs" to "bar hopping". My reminiscing will no longer be fodder for your contamination.

@TroyOnce you realize how mentally unbalanced Pioneer is, then it's easier to understand his behavior. lol.

What you really are doing is desperately grasping at straws, cherry picking, and takin things out of context applying your usual ploys to reinforce your false scenarios. You do this so often, that it's become an integral part of your personality disorder. As I say. in my exchanges with you, I always consider the source, which makes it quite easy to dismiss your narcisstic rationales. Blab on. -

YOU SAID............ I didn't say it. YOU SAID IT YOU SAID......... And I quote: YOU SAID that back in your "salad days" (whatever that means. It sounds like some term you picked up from your White female roomates....lol) that all it took was a few drinks...and you'd have NO inhibitions! So don't get mad at me or claim I'm lying on you and what not. YOU SAID IT! .....lol. .....but I guess you didn't say it. It's all in my imagination and I'm making it up.....lol. -

@Pioneer1That's your distorted interpretation of what I said. And you, naturally, have convinced yourself that daring to dispute all of your hogwash is equivalent to actin a fool. The same idiot who himself acts a fool and also dismisses religion is now recommending that I go to church. What a slippery, flip-flopping, jive ass you are. -
Da Bears pulled out a huge divisional win last night. They are having a helluva season.

smh. No man, other than my late husband, has ever picked me up to go shopping! I don't need any lifts because my kids and grandkids are my chauffeurs who accompany me shopping! As much as I have dismissed religion and extolled spirituality, you and your imagination apparently think I'm a church goer. How significant is that? -
DA BEARS did it again! I find their last minute victories surreal. It has taken me a life time to embrace the "never give up" mindset that propels this team which I have been a fan of for 60 years! It also amazes me how emotionally invested sports fans are in their favorite teams. I dont know how many times I ve heard people say "now I can get a good night's sleep", after the Bears pull out a last minute victory. Meanwhile, I'm just enjoying the ride. 'Don't expect a Super Bowl bid but - Chi-town can thank their team for providing them with an exciting season! BEAR DOWN!

I didn't say he was a "stranger". I don't know WHAT the hell he was to you. I just remember you said he'd pick you up and take you shopping from time to time. It's Sunday, why aren't you at CHURCH.....lol. -

@Pioneer1Why would I accuse you of lying about something that wasn't portraying me in a bad light?? And do you really think I would ever have to stand outside my house looking to catch a ride with a stranger to buy me groceries and hook up with? Or that I would make up a story about this and post it here? That scenario, however, is very much in keeping with the old lady you cast me as, swatting at wasps in my robe and slippers, or a homeless person, sitting on the curb fussing, or a sorry old lady wandering around just waiting to agree with whatever some man said; not to mention the skanky Dolemita character you're trying to associate me with. All of the above are figments of the imagination you take such pride in having. Get real. -
When you see "Pop"....think of this character that Richard Pryor played:

Right. Definitely a classic case of a blessing and a curse. Many Black folks are better off than our ancestors. There's still progress to be made. Maybe continued faith and prayers among the believers will lead the devils to have a change of heart. Otherwise, n8gglets will continue to do the devil's bidding by pimping from the pulpit and enriching themselves.

Black. Church. Christmas. Sermon.
Pioneer1 replied to harry brown's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
ProfD Some say their faith in Christianity helped them make it through, other's say that that same faith was a detriment to the community. That same "faith" prevented many of the men (or encouraged the women to DISCOURAGE the boys and men) from committing acts of desperation that would either have gotten the entire community killed....or free. -

Different strokes for different folks
Pioneer1 replied to aka Contrarian's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Troy Being born of racist is about as likely as being “born” a Methodist. People aren't born Methodists, but human beings ARE born predisposed to being religious. Most humans have a natural inclination towards ritual also. When I say "born" racist I mean having a natural or innate inclination towards that mentality that increases and matures with natural development. Kind of like a sexual orientation. I can guarantee you’ve never raised children in a multicultural environment. You better not bet money on it.....lol. I have and I am...lol. I've raised children in a Black environment and I'm currently raising (and no I'm not married...lol) children in a mixed or multiracial/multicultural environment. Not only have I seen elements of "colorism" and "featurism" among THEM that they've picked up from other AfroAmerican kids raised in a household without love for self -that we've had to constantly correct and eliminate; but now that we're in a more "multiracial/multicultural" environment it's even worse because we have to counter and eliminate the low self esteem that comes from constantly being in an environment where most of the players don't look like them. And when they've brought White and Latino friends home, I could CLEARLY see the racist tendencies in these kids and how they acted. Just hanging around Black kids didn't mean they weren't racist. Dude, we live in a white racist culture that is the reason racism exists, but it’s on a decline. the country is not nearly as racist at once was. Is that a fact? If so, do you think a person like Donald Trump could have gotten elected 30 years ago in the 90s? Do you think a President would have been able to call a entire group of Black people "garbage" or Black nations "shit hole countries" 30 years ago? -

@Pioneer1 these relationships seem to fly in the face of your ideas about racism. It’s still not clear to me why you have such difficulty with Chilli, Chaka Khan and the millions of other people who enter into relationships with people you understand is being in different races.

Ignoring a hyperbole, white folks will get their houses taken if they fail to pay that note. They would’ve won most victimize in 2008. You mean before cell phones and TikTok, I don’t think so See, this is what I mean with flawed ideas and how they compound each other. Being born of racist is about as likely as being “born” a Methodist. I can guarantee you’ve never raised children in a multicultural environment. Dude, we live in a white racist culture that is the reason racism exists, but it’s on a decline. the country is not nearly as racist at once was. I said, continuing to decline into races and no longer exist. That’s the trajectory we are on. -
Churches are busy between Christmas programs and holiday parties and services. Christianity has shackled Black folks for hundreds of years. Their faith allows them to make it through this existence. Religion It is such an eentrenched part or life for so many people that the chain will probably never be broken. Not that believers want to be free.

I can believe it. Nice rendition of "You Better go Now". Sultry vocals perfect for a Jazz club or lounge. Same here. Music has always been my opiate. No need for drugs and alcohol. Seems that way because fewer folks post nowadays. @aka Contrarian...glad you contributed to the thread sharing info about how you were a sultry pop-up vocalist back when folks could smoke cigarettes in the clubs and lounges.
