  2. ProfD As long as this line of thinking is the default position, Black folks will never be unified or get UP. Do you think a more "socialist" mentality where most Black people refused to get rich or build wealth unless they did it as a community would produce better results? If so, what's the evidence of that? Is there a Black socialist type country that we can look at as a model of success and wealth? The fact is.... Some....a lot...of Black people are poor and broke because of the POOR CHOICES that they've made in their lives. Especially the Black people in America. Many....not all...but too many are broke because of heavy drug use, criminal activities that fuck up their records, etc.. Ofcourse most of this is as an indirect result of racism, yet it's a fact none the less. A crack head's life is fucked up because they smoked crack. Yes the racists in the government brought it in to destroy the community, yet the fact remains that their life is fucked up because they chose to smoke the crack! You can't put your life or success on hold trying to help dysfunctional or stupid people; especially when they don't want to improve themselves. Rather than lift THEM UP.....many of them will PULL YOU DOWN. There is absolutely no reason that FBA/AfroAmericans should be fighting for Africans. What about for a financial or social/sexual incentive? I do not recall Africans getting on ships and rescuing our ancestors from slavery. Besides the ones who SOLD some of our Ancestors and participated in Slavery who were a small percentage, how many Africans even KNEW we were over here? It is funny that other Black folks expect FBA/AfroAmericans to cape for them despite their delineation from and disrespect towards us. At this point, I don't know how many Africans are even expecting or asking for us to. Many of them just keep away from AfroAmericans and focus on building wealth for their own communities. I hear a lot of Black podcasters claim Africans are begging for help. But whatever help their asking for....it's usually from White folks, not Black Americans...lol. I listen to Dr. Umar Johnson for comedic entertainment Me too. I'm very analytical and can separate the man from his words. He says a lot of good things, has a lot of insight, and much of his social observations are on point. But his effectiveness is very questionable.
  3. "The Reparations Plan outlines a variety of methods to provide restitution, compensation and rehabilitation to individuals who are Black and/or descendants of a chattel enslaved person and have experienced a proven harm in San Francisco," the ordinance reads. There are approximately 46,000 Black residents in San Francisco. The article also states that money from the city budget will not be allocated to the reparations fund. This is a political move and shell game from the Democratic mayor of San Francisco. If/when the mayor decides to run for higher office, when talking to Black voters, he'll point back to this ordinance and say "I threw y'all a bone".
  4. ProfD I have always found it amusing that Black folks tried to hold Black rappers to a higher moral standard especially when it came to their lyrics. The same Black folks would watch white produced movies filled with violence and nudity. A white man kill up a bunch of folks and f8ck several women...no problem. Blockbuster at the box office. Blacks folks in theaters grinning and eating popcorn while contributing to the profits of those same movies. I think those AfroAmericans who DO criticize rap music (because they don't do it nearly as much as they used to because they probably figure it's useless now-a-days) do it because they see it as more detrimental to the well being of the AfroAmerican community. What Arnold Schwartznegger or Sylvester Stallone does in a movie doesn't have nearly as much of an impact on the Black community as what NWA and other rappers who have the minds of the youth, have because there are far more positive and intellectual White characters and movies to offset the violence they portray. There's more of a BALANCE when it comes to White violence in the entertainment industry. Another point is..... It's CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD in the White community that Rambo, and Total Recall and these other movies are based on FICTION. They don't claim to "represent what's really happening in White America" like rap does. Many rappers are self-proclaimed "representatives" of Black American youth and they claim to "tell it like it is". And if all they're promoting is violence, drug use, and dogging out women and calling them bitches...then they're literally saying that IS "how it is" in our community. Which is not only a lie, but straight up slanderous and damaging. They're doing more damage to our community and how it's portrayed around the world than even the White racists who used to go around and say Black men had "tails"; because they're voluntarily promoting and portraying all of the negative stereotypes White racists have claimed. Somehow, rap music was destroying the Black community. It certainly helped to bring down the morals of the AfroAmerican community. Except for a few groups like Public Enemy...it hasn't uplifted the community in general. It has made a lot of individual artists rich...which is a positive thing...but at what expense? Nevermind the fact that pimps, prostitutes and dope dealers, gang-bangers and murderers were around before rap music. While this is true, that type of lifestyle wasn't GLORIFIED until movies like Superfly and The Mack came out and later on Gangsta Rap. The difference is the GLORIFICATION of the worst parts of the community. The Mafia existed for hundreds of years, but it wasn't until movies like The Godfather came out that it started being glorified. And a lot of Italians spoke out against it. Every community has it's underground and criminal element. What other community GLORIFIES it though? C. Delores Tucker was probably smoking Virginia Slim cigarettes and sipping on a Singapore Sling while watching those same movies or listening to those *dirty* records too. Maybe, but atleast there was a voice that DID condemn it....less people around the planet start believing ALL of us were onboard with that immoral garbage. Now the only Black folks who do seems to be the moral voice for Black people are Black Conservatives. And we know most of them are sell outs and Sambos who are doing this to appease and amuse their White racist handlers. But what does it take THEM to point out the trifling and ratchet behavior in our community? Why don't the Progressive and Conscious Black people do it? Like the Nation of Islam. They are STRONGLY critical of the immorality and vices in our community, but in a loving way. We need more of that. Just like blaxploitation movies, some pimps had high-pitched voices and permed hair (jheri curls in the 1980s) too. Not only that, a lot of them were sissified and acted feminine. Many of them had a "feminine" quality about them that actually attracted some women. It shows you how dysfunctional the streets have been for a long time. I find it odd how straight Black men with multiple children often question eachothers masculinity and call eachother "bitch ass nigga" or point at how this behavior or that behavior ain't the behavior of a "real man".... But when it comes to Black men who are OBVIOUSLY gay or feminine and walk around switching and lisping, they are silent on them or grin at them and give THEM a pass and in most cases ignore them. Same thing with a lot of sistaz..... Many of them are quick to slap a dude upside the head and talk about how he ain't a "real man" or tell him "be a man"; but yet don't apply those same standards to their gay male "best friend" or some gay male family member who acts like a straight up woman. I keep telling people the brainwashing and programing is real.
  5. Exactly. They are making mockery of it.

  9. What do you think makes a masterpiece? My Answer Your prose makes the case for a piece, but I argue what makes a master is first? A master originally meant a teacher, not someone deemed skilled above all others. Why does that matter? If a master is a teacher, then a master can be anyone, sequentially, a masterpiece can be any work or piece from anyone. If a master is a teacher than a masterpiece is free to be any work as anyone sees it. But, if a master is someone deemed skilled above all others. then who determines the skills, through whatever measures, required to be a master is more important than the identity of the master, for said identity is merely matching the skills. But, who determines the skills? In modern human history, all to often those in a populace in humanity who have a financial or militaristic power over other populaces dictate the skills required to be a master. Sequentially, the identity of a masterpiece is always doubted, questioned. Because if a master is someone deemed skilled above all others which can only be determined through a limited perspective only a set in humanity have , then all others have to doubt it, because they don't see the master as legitimate because they don't accept the requirements to master. So, I accept a master is merely a teacher. And as I have learned and continue to learn from many artists , in said moments of learning, I have been taught and said artists have been teachers, thus masters for a time and the works or pieces they taught me with are masterpieces. 12. States and cities claiming to study or hand out reparations is definitely a smokescreen to stir up anger and confusion. They are trying to make a mockery of reparations. Trivialize the issue down to nothing. I hope that Black folks interested in reparations keep their eyes on the ball. Don't fall for the BS.
  13. Yesterday
  14. San Francisco mayor quietly signs reparations fund that could lead to $5M payments per person San Francisco mayor quietly signs reparations fund that could lead to $5M payments per person They know good and dog gone well this plan won't lead to anybody getting Reparations. Just like that crap they're doing over in Maryland. .... just a trick or gimmick. CITIES AND STATES DO NOT PAY REPARATIONS Especially cities and states where slavery didn't officially exist...like Portland Oregon or San Francisco California. Reparations are only paid by National/Federal Governments. They KNOW this is going nowhere. The mayor knows it and the media outlets that report on it know it. It's just another bullshit trick-n-pony show designed to piss off and anger White people who read it. That's the ONLY purpose of these "studies" and "proposals" as well as the media coverage of them. Stories like this were designed TO spark controversy and argument and serve as a lightning rod or strawman built up for racist Whites to point to and focus on to justify their anger. Now racist Conservatives have more bullshit to cry about on their podcasts and radio shows. They can point to San Francisco and claim the city is "giving $5 million checks to it's Black residents", just to generate outrage. Just like the entire "critical race theory" controversy a few years ago. It wasn't designed to benefit or help AfroAmericans or truly educate people about AfroAmerican history. Since when did academic curriculums Universities offered, get discussed in the national media? The media purposely reported on it in a way that would anger White people and generate outrage.
  15. Right. Sellouts, bootlicks and shills are no different from coons on the plantation during slavery. The same type of n8gglets that snitched on Nat Turner and got him killed. As long as this line of thinking is the default position, Black folks will never be unified or get UP. That's because we are not training Black folks to be that way. For one reason or another, self-defense is not an automatic thing that is taught in the Black community. Many white folks learn how to kill early in life. The funny thing is that Black folks will join the military where the primary objective is to kill or be killed in defense of the country. The 1st things they do in the military is teach new recruits 1) discipline, 2) physical fitness and 3) how to kill. There is absolutely no reason that FBA/AfroAmericans should be fighting for Africans. I do not recall Africans getting on ships and rescuing our ancestors from slavery. It is funny that other Black folks expect FBA/AfroAmericans to cape for them despite their delineation from and disrespect towards us. I'd rather let our people die on their own terms instead of caping for those who don't give a sh8t about us anyway. Of course, I didn't donate to FDMG Academy. I listen to Dr. Umar Johnson for comedic entertainment.
  16. Right. I'm referring to a ritzy movie theater experience. Bringing the family to see Wicked there will cost several hundred dollars.
  17. I have always found it amusing that Black folks tried to hold Black rappers to a higher moral standard especially when it came to their lyrics. The same Black folks would watch white produced movies filled with violence and nudity. A white man kill up a bunch of folks and f8ck several women...no problem. Blockbuster at the box office. Blacks folks in theaters grinning and eating popcorn while contributing to the profits of those same movies. OTOH, let n8gglets gang-bang and be misogynistic on wax and self-righteous Black folks were ready to call the FBI. Somehow, rap music was destroying the Black community. Nevermind the fact that pimps, prostitutes and dope dealers, gang-bangers and murderers were around before rap music. Also, the same self-righteous Black folks weren't complaining about blaxploitation movies and Richard Pryor, Millie Jackson and Blowfly records. C. Delores Tucker was probably smoking Virginia Slim cigarettes and sipping on a Singapore Sling while watching those same movies or listening to those *dirty* records too. As brotha Malcolm X said..."who taught you to hate yourselves". Young cats like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are very intelligent and know how to interview. Again, it's easy for older generation to cast aspersions on the generation behind them. The reality is that there is nothing new under the sun. Same sh8t (game), different players. @Troy nails it in that regard. Just like blaxploitation movies, some pimps had high-pitched voices and permed hair (jheri curls in the 1980s) too.
  18. Although I travel from time to time, I haven't really been to an actual movie theater OUTSIDE of West Michigan in years so it's hard to compare prices but for $100....two adults AND a couple or even 3 children can still have a pretty decent time at a movie theater as long as yall ain't eating or drinking too much....lol. The tickets themselves will be around $15-$20 per adult and $10-$10 per child depending on age. The bulk of the money is with concessions. Now that's the AVERAGE theater....in the day time. If you're trying to go to a ritzy type of theater at night....there's no telling how much it will cost. I don't like to go to theaters when they're crowded anyway. Some of the children in my family wanted to go see that Wicked shit, but we have yet to take them, lol. I would suspect that the prices of entertainment like most other things would be much more expensive in the DMV area or East coast in general than in Western Michigan. The cost of living in the Detroit area is twice as expensive and it's in the same state....lol.
  19. ProfD The sacrifice would be for the greater good of future generations of our people. Dr. MLK Jr. and brother Malcolm X had naysayers while they were alive. It didn't stop them from doing the work. They had a CALLING...Divine in my opinion...to do what they did. If you have a Divine Calling....nothing will stop you except FOR the Divine. However the vast majority of laborers in any movement will not be Divine but will be rank and file human beings looking for human benefits like wealth, fame, prestige, and respect. If they don't see a way of getting those benefits, they aren't going to bother putting in the work. Nobody wants to work their ass off and put their lives in danger only to be called a "coon" or "sell out" by the next generation of youngsters who weren't around to know how much work they put in or how far we actually came. It takes a special person who's willing to lay down their life for others. Especially knowing some are ungrateful and undeserving of the sacrifice. Facts. No intelligent person will expect ALL of the people of a community to appreciate their work and sacrifice. But when it gets to the point where MOST of the people are indifferent to your efforts and don't appreciate them, then the human part of you begins to wonder what's the point of even doing it? That's why so many people end up selling out. They don't see any benefit or reward in being loyal to people who don't care or appreciate one way or the other. The Nigerians agreed with the strike. They didn't execute it themselves. Well, if they truly agreed with it...then there's no problem The blood isn't on their hands. Let another man fight the battles and rest assured that he'll take over the house, bed and women too. Unless he is so powerful he could have done that already IF he wanted to. That's why a handful of Nigerians are driving Bentleys and Benzes on dirt roads up to mansions in the middle of nothing. 1. If America wants to control the oil in Nigeria...they will find a way to do it anyway, strike or no strike...and there's little the Nigerians can do about it. 2. Who's to say that America and the West isn't ALREADY controlling Nigeria's oil reserves? Like Saudi Arabia and these other oil rich nations; they ultimately have to come to the West with their oil to get it refined, on the market, and exchanged for currency anyway. 3. This may sound a little callous but it's better for a HANDFUL of Nigerians to be driving Bentleys and Benzes than for NONE of them to be. People can be broke and poor all by themselves, poverty doesn't need company. You don't help poor people by staying poor yourself, lol. Eliminate the problem. Kill the abuser or have them killed. Most abused people don't have that mentality. If they did, they wouldn't have gotten abused in the first place. Everybody can't be Miss Sofia....lol. "I loves Harpo....Lord knows I do. But I'LL KILL 'EM DEAD 'fo I let him beat on me!" We literally cannot afford to walk and chew gum at the same time in that regard. Let's look at this carefully...... We DIDN'T fight for Africans -and we weren't getting Reparations. We're NOT fighting for Africans right now -and we're STILL not getting Reparations as of right now. Looks to me like NOT fighting for Africans didn't help us...lol. In fact, it was no contact until we had our own sh8t together. If you're waiting until niggaz get their shit together before making contact with others, then..... You're gonna be waiting a minute.....lol. Other than religion, Black men usually do not follow other men who talk a lot and produce nothing. If there is an inkling or proof that a man is full of sh8t, another man definitely won't be following him. Some.Black men gave Dr. Umar Johnson a pass for a little over a decade before they cashed in their chips and left the table. If Dr. Umar Johnson had produced something tangible instead of grifting under the guise of building a school, he would potentially be a leader of men. Most dudes could see through Dr. Umar Johnson within 10 minutes of him talking and blinking and repeating himself. I take it YOU didn't donate to the FDMG Academy! Shame on you Prof D! Just for that, you won't be allowed to visit the school on opening day in the year 20.........LOL
  20. ProfD The older generation didn't think much of those rappers. C. Delores Tucker wasn't impressed with them. She lobbied to get that Parental Advisory sticker on tapes and CDs. Great example. Ms Tucker was right to a certain extent, many of them did disrespect women. I can't blame them. They thought they were contributing to immorality and indecency in the Black community. Actually, Mayor Coleman Young had NWA arrested when they came to Detroit...lol. Today's artists do far more interviews than their predecessors did 35 years ago. But not sit-to-the-table press conferences like NWA and Public Enemy used to do. They do a lot of laid back sitting on the couch interviews while smoking and drinking. Neither them not the hosts are very professional or formal. Many folks clowned Eazy-E's high pitched voice. Definitely had to respect his business acumen His height and his voice. Part of what made him entertaining was that he SOUNDED like how he LOOKED. Actually, his voice is what made him a decent rapper! Like DJ Quik, he had a hollow voice that sounded well on wax and the lyrics came through clearly.
  21. Bush was still much better than Al "The Sky is Falling Climate Change Hoaxer" Gore would have been as the POTUS. I was stating that Barack Obama was an inconsequential blind pawn who was played by the white liberal power structure against the sheer ignorance of Black America, which it can count on to be dumb, stupid, ignorant and grossly uninformed all at the same time every day of the year. A little over a year and a half into his first term, it became more than obvious that he had absolutely no idea what he was doing as a POTUS. Not bad for community organizing orator, whom (Walmart Obama) Hakeem Jeffries gets his talking point cues from. The key lies in not trying to get others think and vote like you do, but to simply get them to pay attention, which is a basic fundamental concept that liberal Black America just can't seem to grasp.
  22. The older generation didn't think much of those rappers. C. Delores Tucker wasn't impressed with them. She lobbied to get that Parental Advisory sticker on tapes and CDs. Today's artists do far more interviews than their predecessors did 35 years ago. Many folks clowned Eazy-E's high pitched voice. Definitely had to respect his business acumen.
  23. Right. There are movie theaters here with full service bar and a food menu. The seats recline and have tray tables attached. The vibe feels like watching a movie while sitting in a restaurant. It's not a cheap movie experience though. The tab will be no less than $100 for two people.
  24. It's no different from people listening to preachers. The fact remains that those who do have a following could make things happen if they were inclined to change their grift into nation-building. The church building fund could become a school especially when the members are already sitting in a big azz church building. The sacrifice would be for the greater good of future generations of our people. Dr. MLK Jr. and brother Malcolm X had naysayers while they were alive. It didn't stop them from doing the work. Despite n8gglets all over the place, things have changed for FBA/AfroAmericans since the time those men were assassinated. It takes a special person who's willing to lay down their life for others. Especially knowing some are ungrateful and undeserving of the sacrifice. The Nigerians agreed with the strike. They didn't execute it themselves. Let another man fight the battles and rest assured that he'll take over the house, bed and women too. Exactly. The US will get rid of your terrorists and control the black gold too. That's why a handful of Nigerians are driving Bentleys and Benzes on dirt roads up to mansions in the middle of nothing. Black folks should own the entertainment they provide. Not just be employees. Eliminate the problem. Kill the abuser or have them killed. Nothing wrong with enjoying entertainment. Right. I can entertainment myself. I don't have to enrich white folks with it. We literally cannot afford to walk and chew gum at the same time in that regard. NF Jr. was referring to as it relates to dismantling the system of racism white supremacy and replacing it with a system of justice. It wasn't necessarily about building alliances with other Black folks. In fact, it was no contact until we had our own sh8t together. It's spread out over various factions and organizations.
  25. ProfD It starts with looking in the mirror. Build strategic alliances with folks who think similarly. For example, the influencers and podcasters do have a following. Grow from there. Most of their following is as a result of sensationalism and friction....not productivity, facts, and building. Most people who support them and give money do so to hear them gossiping and criticizing and fighting against other Black people. If they start talking about let's build a hospital or school or so something positive...their subscribers would drop like hot rocks...lol. They love the drama. I stay on the bumper of non-FBA folks in my clan. They understand both sides of it. I can't say the same. Although I'm intimate with a few, I don't have any Africans or West Indians that I know of in my family. There's always something to be done about it. People don't want to sacrifice anything especially their freedom or life. Can you really blame them? Especially when you look at the type of "thanks" they often get for making that sacrifice. Look at many of the sacrifices the Civil Rights generation made, and look at how some of these young dudes come on social media with nappy beards dogging them and claiming how they didn't do anything for the community and didn't leave a legacy. It used to be sacrilegious to criticize the Civil Rights generation......not anymore. Who wants to sacrifice for a people as ungrateful and obnoxious as that? The Nigerians should have eliminated Isis if they were a problem in their country. Maybe they didn't see them as a problem. About half if not more of Nigeria is Muslim. The West sees them as a problem, but maybe Nigeria didn't. On top of that.....that's Nigeria's problem to deal with, not the West's That's like China launching strikes into Los Angeles and killing people they called "Crips" while claiming they were doing it to save the lives of the Bloods who were being slaughtered through gang warfare. That's none of China's business...lol. Countries should fight their own battles first. I understand. But it wasn't a sincere fight....Trump was just flexing. Some even say it's really about oil and trying to take Nigeria's resources. There's plenty black folks can do to break the system of racism white supremacy. The main thing is we could stop enriching them in everything from providing entertainment to shopping in their establishments. While you're right...this entertainment is the only thing that keeps some of our people from going crazy UNDER the system. It's like taking the drugs away from a drug addict who is being sexually abused. The reason they started using drugs was because of the sexual abuse. Take the drugs away and they'll have no other way to deal with it and may go stone crazy. Entertainment (and drugs) are often OUTLETS for Black people living in an oppressive system they feel they can't escape. Take that entertainment/escape away from them and that may launch them into a feeling of hopelessness. Even YOU say that you are uplifted and motivated by your music and it gets you high. FBA/AfroAmericans won't benefit from an alliance with them. The Somalis have fled a whole country. Also, they're still fighting among themselves over there. Yesterday, it was announced that Somaliland, an enclave within Somalia, has been recognized by Israel as sovereign. They are cozy with the devil as always. I agree, you can't trust them. Even if they DID connect with Black Americans initially....because of their racial confusion and considering themselves closer to Arab than African you couldn't be sure where their loyalty lays. We don't have anything to do with the injustices they're facing. Our focus should be reparations. I agree that our focus should be Reparations, however there are connections between what we go through and what Africans go through that should be recognized. It's part of being well rounded and what Neely Fuller Jr. called: UNIVERSAL MAN and UNIVERSAL WOMAN There's no singular person in charge among most groups of people. Gotta sit down with the heads of various factions within the group. Besides Minister Farrakhan and the Hebrew Israelites, where is the leadership? You know how independent minded so many of our people are. They claim they don't need a leader and don't want anybody telling them what to do. Say what you will about him but Dr. Umar Johnson is one of the most dynamic conscious speakers in our community today and he doesn't even have 10 men following him...lol. Oh they'll listen to him all day, but wouldn't FOLLOW him to the corner store to buy a bag of chips...lol.
