My real name does not appear in that sentence. I have no idea what pioneer thinks my real name is. Chris D. Burns, who used to post here and with whom I am friends with on FB, and I share the same initials,(CDB) something I always appreciated because he is a real bright guy.

I tend to believe readers are born, not made. Curiosity plays a great role in the pursuit of knowledge via the printed word. How your brain is wired influences your curiosity. I READ somewhere that there are people who if never taught to read, would learn to do so on their own. Unfortunately, being an avid reader is not synonymous with being rich and successful.

Women have the right to control their own bodies. Motherhood should be a privilege not a punishment. Abortions in the case of ectoplastic pregnancies, for instance, save the lives of women - who may already have small children to care for. Black men are always beating their chests, blubbering about genocide but among the underclasses, these guys are glaringly absent from the lives of their children. This contributes to genocide as much as abortion.

I've seen him interviewed and imo Reverend Barber is a cross between Malcolm and Martin. Not a bad combination. @umbrarchistMy initial statement was in response to the question Delano posed about racism. People accumulate wealth and they spend money. And institutionalized racism remains in place. Trial and error is a good teacher. Anybody who is employed and budgets their money is automatically an accountant. Some people are better at this than others, however. And so it goes...

@umbrarchist I have no idea why blacks parents don't teach accounting and a whole lot of other things to their children. But what I do know, is that money talks.

@Troy pioneers' assessment of womens' status in the workplace sounded like something from the 1950s. Most factories have Unions and women hold positions in these organizations, making sure female workers and their demands are met. And when it comes to supervision, a whole lot of men, especially black ones, will tell you how they hate having a female boss because they are so tough to work under. As for sexual harassment on-the-job, it can work both ways. Puleeze.

Race will always be a factor. In most cases, it will impact negatively. But class will also exert an influence and money will be the bottom line on an individual basis when it comes to the grand scheme of things.

Man take chances all the time via one nightstands. And nobody is expecting anything of men except for them to co exist with those who embrace gender rather than genitals. Live and let live. Nobody can be "turned into" something they dont already have preexisting tendencies for.
