  2. Midweek 10/1/2019 10/2/2019 #UEFACL #CopaLibertadores 10/1/2019 Real Madrid vs CLub Brugge- the second half change, Areola on for Courtois and then the great marelo in wide back was telling from zidane. Areola is better at mobility than Courtois, plain or simple. For belgium, courtois had a defender like vincent kompany and midfielders like nainngolan or fellaini. to be fair, the club brugge captain made a dangerous tackle on viniciusjr, viniciusjr to his credit didn't make a big deal of it, but it could had been devastating for the young player Mignolet save https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9y1rrClb?fid=1034:4422757115710326 Kroos attempt- he had one after, if on target, the score would had been by halftime 2-2 https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9y74b7vt?fid=1034:4422760454389372 Emmanuel Bonaventure 2 - purely on fire, but the second was a real madrid mistake from Modric. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9y95q70w?fid=1034:4422760970003473 Sergio Ramos goal - the angle originally shown makes ramos offside, but people have to remember the lens are curved and distort angles. the flatter overhead shows he is onside. , but the real key is marcelo, he came on and the modulation from defense to attack, the craft, rose by heights, he truly is a galacticos. I will love to see marcelo post real madrid in the inter miami project. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9yl0sZ58?fid=1034:4422768981144033 Casemiro goal- a player hated when he came in, but a true winner. THe reality is hazard is the player at chelsea. HAzard was never a big enough goal getter, but he has been brought in that role. Vinicius jr/hazard/rodrygo are all the same sort of player, that attacking midfielder that isn't a high goal getter. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9yxHnfFx?fid=1034:4422776325384169 Bayern Munich vs Tottenham Hotspurs Kimmich goal- lovely placement side power. I love big conmebol nights. All the top teams in conmebol are full of true footballers. Nicolas De La Cruz is the player of the match. The best midfield play from him. But overall, River was a faster team as a collective. MArcelo Gallardo is a great coahc, my favorite Conmebol coach. The Olympique Lyonnais or inter miami's of the world need to get him Rafael santos borre goal- it looked a penalty originally, but the experienced referee let the game play then video assisted referees pulled it back https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9AV07sGl?fid=1034:4422866662268267 Ignacio Fernandez goal- the first touch passing, but honest movement on the pitch. Conte like Mourinho from yore, has a proper footballing side. Inter Milan kept cutting FC Barcelona a new anus. When some OL fans , in offside beat suggested a coaching change My thoughts on leon offside episode 10 This is the beginning of the sylvinho era under the juninho management. We must have patience. Aulas is a planning man, he is not one to give the reigns absent someone who has a plan. LEt us give the plan time to mature. OL are seven points behind the best of the rest leader Angers. The season is long, angers/nantes/lille/om/ognice/bordeaux/rennes/reims/montpellier will drop points. let us take it easy. Last season Atletic bilbao in spain were fighting against relegation, look how high they are on the table now. you have to let a plan play out. Sylvinho or juninho leaving now, will be totally disruptive. We have to give them the season. ... Someone shared a video, that said senior players run the locker room. the problem in OL is we don't have many leaders in the mens team, in parallel, the womens team is full of leaders, has leaders on the bench. You guys point on sylvinho focusing on defense is parallel to mourinho pushing pogba to give more energy defensively. SYlvinho is asking these attacking players to defend with as much vigor as they attack, it is tiring, but it is possible, look at atletio madrid. Players have to rise to the challenge. OL do need to be better defensively. Not for me, give sylvinho the whole season. It is time to push industriousness into OL, we are a youth team. We develop and sell youth. We need to get the culture to change. COnmebol teams players are ready to defend as a team and attack in brilliance. Let the conmebol way come into Lyon. Look at Santos/Flamengo/ many conmebol teams culture have that defense first, attack sharply, fight for 90 minutes. excellent point Arianna, if you can't give time to a coach, then what coach wants to waste their time. We are one, yes, juninho will burn every bridge as a sporting director, juninho in choosing sylvinho and backing him means both have to go if one go, but aulas said he wanted juninho as the sporting director, so if sylvinho/juninho/aulas can not all be fired based on each giving the later the blessing. I agree OL will work it out, prove it to the players that this team works on a project. ... the problem with the two other pundits is neither gave a name, name names to replace sylvinho. ... a name was mentioned, mourinho? aulas is not willing to spend the money mourinho want, second mourinho will want to replace all these lackluster in defense players. Mourinho had a young team in porto when he won the uefa champions league, but he had a few senior team leaders and some world class young players on that team. OL mens do not have that kind of squad. article https://lyonoffside.com/2019/10/01/podcast-episode-10-samba-cut-short/ tweet https://twitter.com/AScavs/status/1179079369945485313 FLamengo vs Gremio People like Ray Hudson say that this is the new modern football, but I disagree. LEagues are not forced to use goal line technology or video assisted refereeing. Just cause western UEFA side the USA champion it does not mean any other league had to follow, they chose to. If I ever control a league I will deny the use to both tools, cause they are not needed. IT is well known over 90% of the calls in futebol pre goal line technology or video assisted refereeing were correct. So neither technology was about getting calls right, but reaching a @gabamado the problem in #VAR is encapsulated in FLamengo Gremio leg 1, if flamengo lose the tie, pundits will go on about the modern game, but that is a lie. this is about how a flawed system is interpreted based on human interpretation in a video room on top of human interpretation on the pitch. why can't pundits accept human error on goals when they accept human error everywhere else on the pitch? VAR take Flamengo 1 from Everton Ribeiro - the gremio player clearly flopped, the problem with a system designed to follow the rules strictly is the actions of players are being deceptive, thus must be taken into account, but when a system says the rulebook is the beginning moddle or end, then it is a foul, but it is clearly acting by a gremio player. And to be honest, VAR can not allow for referee interpretation cause it loses all functionality. you don't need var to get referee interpretation. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9KwdfaXn?fid=1034:4423236058868203 VAR take Flamengo 2 from Gabriel Barbossa- https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9KAjo9Lx?fid=1034:4423237841388939 Bruno Henrique Goal - VAr may interpret ribeiro or barbossa false but var is not denying Henrique! https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9KUWvUO4?fid=1034:4423252442072216 VAR take Flamengo 3 from Gabriel Barbossa https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9LcO2wYl?fid=1034:4423262097354952 Pepe goal - Flamengo were denied three goals, two in the first half lifted up Gremio.VAR is not a neutral system and that is the problem. Aiding one side that is playing poorly is unfair naturally. Beyond the fact that human choices , no matter how many video screens are available are human choices, no other than the ones being made on the pitch, the augmentation to success is extremely negative to the team that scores and this match proved it. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9Lga3Vvt?fid=1034:4423264186130898 in amendment https://twitter.com/Jaimefmacias/status/1179589818268958722 el ganador es VAR, VAR se hizo cargo de un partido.
  3. Weekend 9/28/2019 #RMWEekend Chelsea vs Brighton Hove Albion in England People say Willian need to score better but Willian's ground play was the best on the pitch. For the number 10 on a team that is the first and foremost. Tammy Abraham had a few chances but he slipped up twice, he needs to work on his center of gravity on the turns. I comprehend he is tall but he has to work on it. Jorginho/Barkley/Mount at times have issues in midfield. Jorginho is a nice passer but his recovery and speed of passing gets slower especially at the end of a half. Mount is not as composed in his own half as the opposing half. Barkley holds on the ball too long for the modern chelsea, that in attack, are looking for one touch. … I enjoyed Chelsea's play; the best goal scoring chance was in the 40th minute. Cross from Jorginho or barkley to MArcus ALonso. He needed to place it low and he placed it to the sky. … Some will say, look at the goal attempts, but most of the attempts were not far enough from the keeper. IT is better to challenge then blast it, but the strikes need to be a little farther away from the keeper. … At the half, I repeat to what I said when the season began. The current chelsea squad is a great team, absent a huge goal getter, who play a midfield game. So every match is a battle, every match is close. … The constant of team defense from Chelsea all season I like alot. circa the 70th minute Brighton pressured or attacked more and the team's lack of a clean sheet all season showed itself. Jorginho penalty- it was earned by a mistake from Brighton. The issue I have to them is , they let Chris Houghton go. why? This season proved Brighton are not the smooth attacking team the new coach is trying to make them into. If they get relegated, it will be all down to Chris Houghton being fired. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I952J5Vdt?fid=1034:4421642663744193 Willian goal- good play overall today. He did a lot of recovery work, high speed passing percentage completion. Lead by example, the 10 by example. PSG never have the right midfield setup, when is tuschel going to realize neymar wants it faster and needs to be in a midfield zone with more attackers ahead of him. Between the 30th and 35th minute the miscommunication in PSG is telling. Verratti cannot be in midfield. PSG was saved a penalty but PSG again, win through a goal from neymar, that is a problem in strategy. Three of neymar's three goals were game winners, that is a problem. Tuschel's system is not correct. NEymar’s goal- the assist was from mbappe, so that is an excellent sign. In the end, the media made the reports about their schism or dislike toward each more than existed. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I95VchSfI?fid=1034:4421673068264737 Neymar and Mbappe the video https://twitter.com/hadrien_grenier/status/1178053390682734593 Atletico MAdrid vs Real MAdrid in Spain with Atletic Bilbao dropping more points. The Madrid derby became a bigger match in the table race. Neither team will want to lose points with Barcelona gaining three, but neither team want to lose points with bilbao dropping points, whomever wins will win big, whomever losses, will lose big. Morata must be hurting getting card accumulation before this match. … Thomas partay has been brilliant, like willian for chelsea, he has not scored by the 31st minute, but his passing, midfield play is stellar. … again, partay's passing clinic september twenty eighth two thousand and nineteen. … Great match, enjoyed the whole game. Atleti had chances, saved chances, got some luck. Good game. 4. Atletico #Mineiro Vs #Colon #CopaSudamericana Before the match The last match made me a believer in Colon though it should be tight in Mineiro. Goals first round highlights https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7N3h29HV?fid=1034:4418567660346112 franco di santo goal- the galo were knocking on the door constantly, Colon seemed unbalanced. HAving the second leg in brasil makes the difference. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8PYvlK49?fid=1034:4421063845601895 Yimmi Chara- the run from him side J Cazares, outran Colon. CAzares side Chara remind me to willian/ngolo kante. Magical short , fast players. I hope chara or cazares never go to the english premier league though. Love either in italian serie a. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8Q87BgMj?fid=1034:4421069675643049 After the match In the end, Corinthians side Atletico Mineiro didn't play strong enough against Independiente or Colon, over two legs. They had the ability but the late season form in brasil serie a , prove both mineiro side corinthians were suffering facing two fronts. Mineiro had five straight losses and Corinthians earned 8 points over five games, equating to a draw each game. So, neither team looked strong handling double duty, and it caught up to both.
  5. Independiente Del Valle vs SC Corinthians #copasudamericana #timao #independiente Before the match Independiente did all the real work in brazil. Timao never showed the energy needed at home. 6. Atletico MAdrid vs MAllorca Spanish La Liga #atleti #mallorca #laliga Before the match This is a much-needed win. Atleti have not scored from our chances. I am hoping to see Costa/Morata/Felix on the pitch at the same time. Goals Diego Costa goal- the needle, the aguja, he used his strength to reach the ball. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8DCHEh7Z?fid=1034:4420588723234617 VAR take away Felix penalty- the mallorca defender had his elbow raised. I remember learning in high school keep your arms down and put your head in the way. But, MAllorca's battling midfield explain why Simeone was wise to bring in true midfielders into the midfield group. Atleti battled but showed a sharpness or luck a little absent in prior matches. Circa 74th minute Morata grabbed the neck of a mallorca player and received another yellow. Two yellow make a red. To be fair, a forward on a simeone team battling costa for a role, is bound to have cards. But Felix was alone up top with Costa benched and Morata in the showers, neither injured. It is rough but Morata will learn from this. Felix was taken out circa 82:12. The three players in the main attacking set, costa/morata/felix were not on the pitch. But the two-goal lead, meant the counterattack is the strategy and Correa side the versatility in many atleti players is suitable for that role. … nice clean sheet for oblak. onto the weekend.
  7. dissOLution Rabeeta Farooque asked a question : I just...don't understand this mentality issue that Lyon have. We now have two successive coaches who say the same thing, and players over three seasons also claiming the same. What could cause so many talented players to be so disconnected so frequently? Asking seriously. https://twitter.com/OffsideBeet/status/1176491717681438720 The following is my reply The reasons are many. No reason is above another but I have a series: definition to success, winning reality, winning possibility, financial reality in the club/financial reality in the league, club goals. Definition to success- what is success? are you a successful player cause you are playing or are you a successful player when you are a member to a certain team or financial bracket? OL's squad is full of journeyman or former youth players whose definition to success is varied. You can argue, OL feminin are similar, and that is true. OL feminin have many former youth players or journeywomen players. But, the winning reality or possibility in OL femenin offsets any individual definition to success in the squad. When players see success varying, the variance is emitted on the pitch. Winning reality- The reality is , lifting trophies in france consistently over modern PSG is going to take more money than aulas wants to give. PSG have tons of talented players, no shame in admitting it. OL do not have a talisman, do not have a huge goal getter, do not have a captain in the back, compared to what PSG paid for. yes, barcelona got lucky and had a magical youth team that was able to come in literally in a two season span. but, that is a lucky thing that rarely happens. The winning reality in OL masculin is that PSG are advantaged against us in all the competitions in france. The winning reality in OL feminin is the opposite. They have the best squad in france and the best squad in UEFA. The winning reality is they should win. When players feel the effect of the winning reality varying, it is emitted on the pitch. Winning possibility- ANything is possible. But the problem is individually accepting that is not a straight line. Can OL masculin win ligue1/coupe de france/coupe de ligue/uefa cl? yes. Is the chances high? no. Are individual players having issues overcoming the possibility with belief? yes. But the parallel is in OL femeninin. ANything is possible, just like in the men. But, OL femenin are making history, so the possibility is high to win. When players feel the effect of the winning possibility varying, it is emitted on the pitch. Financial reality of the club- OL do not have the money of PSG. AUlas is not that wealthy. Now Aulas is spending top money for OL femenin. BUT, like in OL masculin, a day will come when aulas, like berlesconi in ac milan, is at a financial limit and the club wil lhave to find new owners to invest more or be under the investment line, not top of it. OL masculin when aulas was near the top or the top in france had the money to overcome others, now OL do not have the money to overcome PSG's investment, a day will come with OL femenin do not have the money to overcome PSG femenin. I see this in my atletico madrid women. atletico madrid women won the last three domestic titles in spain. BArca women brought in oshoala and are now doing what PSG femenin have not been able to do to OL femenin in france, but they have the money to do it. The financial reality of OL masculin in the modern PSG era has put the club under pressure to have a better system. Spanish teams have existed with real/barca for near 100 years, PSG modernity started about ten season ago, it will take time for french clubs to adjust to what the financial reality means in terms of their planning. Players in teams trying to find a way to overcome a fiscal deficiency will display the lack of working plan on the pitch. Financial reality of the league- France has salary or labor rules/laws that make financial actions sometimes more stringement. That add pressure on teams to figure out a way to compete. Look at atletico madrid. Atletico has been the only true consistent competitor against real or barca in spain, but a blend of their youth development, hiring choices, simeone as coach all came together whether by accident or plan and they have kept up with it. but, if their planning goes awry , do they have the finances to cover their planning dysfunction? no. The financial environment in france, adds to the financial reality of clubs in a negative way. But that is not a problem it only makes the challenge higher, but overcoming that challenge will take longer for every club in france. Look at monaco, they thought a system of buying top youth and selling could work. it got them to a ligue1 title... but then the youth bought finally didn't click and the financial reality in the club or france hindered moreso, nearly leading to relegation. Players know when their team is part of the best of the rest and all players in france outside of psg in the mens game feel that. If a club has no plans then , it exacerbate that negative energy from the players and it is emitted on the pitch. The last is club goals- The goal of the club can not undo the fiscal or the winning but can make the choices better. OL masculin's problem is we have a youth development system we don't fully believe in. We get low level mercenaries like depay to offset the quality in play the youth players do not have. Aouar and fekir leave while depay stays. The keeper stays at a higher contract but it seems like a drain on the team. The new sporting director is from brazil. Many brazilian clubs like my santos know all about being a developing club. play mostly your youth, hire some mercenaries. The difference is that, like france in the past, brasil is stil a league of development. Flamengo/Corinthians are not galacticos or cashicos, so the league is even keeled. This is why the model by juninho over time will make OL the best of the rest solidly, but it will take circa five seasons to be regular, this is in year one. The players now are modulating players from the old system to the new. It will take time. Conclusion- Aulas realizes the men's team is in a negative cycle. He wants someone who comes from a heavily experienced place when it comes to being a top development team. Juninho will need time and considering aulas, the moves are part of a plan. It will be rough sailing for maybe two seasons, but by the third things will click. Patience is a virtue, where dissOLution will turn into gOLd .
  8. Tigres vs Club Tijuana Futbol Mexicano Femenino Primera Before the match This if fourth versus sixth and like toluca versus guadalajara, neither have a fate decided upon today but do not want to wait late to make a push for the title, which can still be grabbed from monterrey or pachuca. GOALS Tigres second goal- the second goal was a header after a mistake from the tijuana keeper. The first goal was a golazo. Tijuana's keeper was shaky in various times, needs to get tougher shoulders. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8nYR5QXF?fid=1034:4419987507510563 end of match https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8psVaic8?fid=1034:4420023712983276 After the Match I had to catch this match in the second half. Tigress did score from outside the box and after a mistake from the tijuana keeper but like Toluca facing Guadalajara, Tigress seem to be a more athletic team while Tijuana seem to be a more skills team. As someone who watched OL in the beginning of the Aulas project to today, the skill teams may lose out now but if they stick to the program they will excel. Having watched womens soccer in Mexico, a three-year project, I am already convinced it is better than the NWSL in the usa ever was and is, at this current moment. I enjoyed these matches and I will continue... I remember, as a kid, i never watched mexican mens soccer. Not from bias but from exposure. People forget how non english speaking television for many years was never advertised though accessible in anglo media in the usa. The reasons were based on the power of the nfl and the usa media conglomerate, that do not want popularity to any non usa elements in the usa.
  9. Toluca vs Guadalajara Futbol Mexicano Femenino Primera Before the match This is seventh versus fifth with one point between them. Any team that win gain an advantage into reaching the playoffs. The half way mark of the apertura has not occurred so nothing is decided for any of the top half clubs in any way, even Monterrey but Monterrey in being steadfast place themselves in a better position. Toluca or Guadalajara will want to do the same. GOALS lineups https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8mRstuZr?fid=1034:4419943287215922 Yashira Barrientos 33 goal- it was a from a practiced set piece. Toluca have a small team, even for mexican women. Guadalajara knew that and the set piece basically shifted weight, like in the rugby mixer, and toluca came up short, just not strong enough https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8n12EXzq?fid=1034:4419950169812465 Karla Saavedra 10 goal- The wide play of toluca started it off, the strike was deflected and fell to her, and she placed it. Toluca in defense seem a little too short but in attack, they are very quick of foot in small spaces. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8n31BJX5?fid=1034:4419951185046554 Diana Carrillo goal- again the set piece defensive strength from toluca is exposed. they just got outmuscled and outreached. When you don't have the ability to react faster or outmuscle your opponent, execution of what you do is key in defense. Toluca spend alot of time in their offensive setup, but they need more time defensively, simply because their roster is naturally short. Chivas is taking advantage of a natural advantage, but on the ground, they are not better than toluca and that is how Chivas falter when bigger sized opposition face them. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8njRxXdq?fid=1034:4419961935084560 Alondra Ubaldo save- it is not the better save in the first half, but I had to get one and when I saved this, I was uncertain to see the great save again. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8nms29ps?fid=1034:4419963042103155 Alondra Ubaldo the saint- the goal post is her friend. I apologize for not getting her great 1st half save. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8nWstxHj?fid=1034:4419986387859036 end of match- great battle https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8nXFdUPl?fid=1034:4419986849001693 After the Match I never saw either from the two team before. Both seem by the first five minutes to be collectively fitter than Pumas, not every individual, but collectively. Circa 6th minute, I saw the possession switch between these two teams seven times in one phase of play, both of these teams have to learn control. The genius of iniesta/xavi is not that they passed alot but they tended, side busquets, to make passes that served a function. Either midfield must learn how to collectively control through possession, especially thinking long term to mexican success. Circa 11th minute, that is a var-able handball. I realize the womens league in mexico is not going to get financing for video assistance refereeing with the crowds they have, but it is a point. Karla Saavedra from Toluca is dangerous. The header was based on strength but later, circa 29th minute, i noticed the toluca goalkeeper, she is too short. she seems shorter than some defenders. I imagine she is quick but on set pieces, she is exploited. Circa 30th lovely pass into the run from Karime Abud to Kenya Téllez, the key to a pass to get a runner behind the offside trap isn't speed, it is timing and placement. Some of the passes from Toluca in the first half are brilliant in their execution, lovely timing and comprehension in the attack. Claudia Rios made the pass of the game, but the toluca player in the forward role, didn't control and strike well enough. Circa 35th minute Toluca tried a set piece from distance, they seem to me, a quick restart team. Set pieces are a waste of time for them, most of their players are great with the ball on the ground but too weak in the air. The toluca keeper dropped the ball a second time by the 39th minute, absent pressure. She must get stronger hands. Barrientos knows she can bully the Toluca backline; Toluca have to defend through possession better. Tania Morales from chivas tested Alondra Ubaldo excellently, I hope it arrives in the highlights later. The keeper proved why she is in the sticks. Lovely strength in the air. My one regret is not getting Alondra Ubaldo save in the first half. To be fair, Toluca came out the dressing room unsharp, especially defensively. By the 52nd minute, Toluca have not gotten into the game physically. Guadalajara is first to every ball. The toluca coach was given a red but he didn't leave the stadium, he went into the stands. By the 65th minute, a Toluca defender is struggling after Barrientos battled through two defenders and almost a third for a strike on goal. Toluca's coach needs to stay but this particular team, the players they have, must implement an extreme form of defense through possession. It cannot be general. Toluca need to reach over ninety percent a game to be top of the table. Circa 69th minute Silvia López the tallest or biggest player Toluca have was substituted for Ingrid Hidalgo, another short player. It was a hard game for Lopez and I imagine this is not the first. She is the muscle, the lone enforcer in the team but Guadalajara and I imagine others will force her to be substituted many times. Miriam Zarate got cramps in the heat, it seems, she has not been as active as others in chivas, who are focusing on the aerial game, and she is one of the shortest players out there. Guadalajara ended the match with two substitutions
  10. #Pumas vs Atletico #sanluis #ligamxfemenino Before the match In the last match Pumas, inability to convert gave the win to Juarez who withered but survived at the end. Atletico san luis is one step up from juarez in the table. Can Pumas connect, or does San Luis have a goal or two in them and the ability to survive. GOALS lineups https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8lUREr9X?fid=1034:4419908113733512 Estéfany Hernández goal- Fabiola Santamaría, 19, made a nice cross on the ever-available left side of San luis. Nayeli Munguia,6, of San Luis made the poorest defensive kick away of the ball I saw this month. She knew she was surrounded but she has to be braver. In the end, she made an assist to Nataly Ávila, 21, of Pumas who had the official assist to Estéfany Hernández, 9 https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8mdcqCfL?fid=1034:4419919530373281 Fabiola Santamaría goal- Mélany Villeda made a long ball and the late run from Fabiola Santamaría, off the feint header from Estéfany Hernández , made her alone with the keeper. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8mlHjj0T?fid=1034:4419924337050353 Nataly Ávila attempt- she made the late run which like before is the exploiting play to San Luis defensively. She tried the backheel, but missed. She can become a great player over time. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8mxya8JD?fid=1034:4419932243592448 Nataly Ávila attempt- the crossbar https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8mGuw9Fw?fid=1034:4419938027547796 highlights collage https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8mOqy6qd?fid=1034:4419941814740119 After the Match Ileana Dávila , one of only two female coaches in this league, the other being Eva Espejo for pachuca, had to get her team to start faster and convert better than the last game. ... In the first minute San Luis cut into Pumas and only San Luis lack of quality prevented a goal from being scored. The coach will reinforce better starts between this match and the next, i wonder what is missing in comprehension. The coach has Pumas well in the attack, they can only get better, but in defense the collective movement is uncommunicative or slow in reaction. A san Luis player was injured and forced a substitution, I noticed she had a water bottle on her shoulder. San Luis is a small club and I imagine the men in that club don't have the greatest resources, but sharing the ice packs will be better to cool down high inflamation. By circa 10:31 , Pumas earned four set pieces. They keep exploiting the slow left side of San Luis, but the crosses have not been good enough. Diana Gómez is a thin woman, but she knows how to lower the gravity for those runs and command her markers. Circa 16:32 Estéfany Hernández missed a trick, she needed to backheel the pass. Pumas earned a corner, but you have to know you have a free teammate behind you. Nataly Ávila has been in at least six hard tackles by the 38th minute. She has good speed, but she need to be more careful getting in those tackles. She has speed, but trying to curl around markers can be dangerous for such a small frame. I think to neymar, he is a multimillionaire with the finest health resources available, she is not. she must be careful getting into so many tough tackles. Age is not the key, it is trying to prevent the career changing tackle from occuring. Pumas lost their sharpness by the end of the first half, multiple offsides the last two from players that needed to check before the pass and adjust. San Luis do not have a condensed defensive shape, and as I typed this, Santamaria scored with the late run. Good comprehension by Pumas players. Avila made the simple complicated, after getting by her marker, she was uncertain to take a strike on goal, while in the box. Her slot found a marker, but the pumas player failed to hit the target. Avila's angle was better. You have to know when to be selfish. The second half started with a close attempt at goal but overall, UNAM still showing that lack of deadly finishing that can make them a top of the table side, besides their defensive needs. Pumas need another wide player to mirror Avila. Pumas force their attack down the right, but better teams will force them to do left, and i don't sense the same electricity. San Luis have a good forward in Karen Vázquez but she is not a goal machine, she is more a connector. The problem with a forward that brings in the midfield is the midfield need a speed or trickery San luis collective midfield do not have. San Luis had another player go off through injury circa 70th minute. That is two in one game. Pumas luckily for Sna Luis are looking to the lob mostly, by that time. circa 82nd minute good save by a San luis defender and good run out from Daniela Carrandi but the Pumas defenders recovered. In the 89th minute, good late run from Daniela García but she didn't have the energy or sharpness to test the keeper.
  11. Weekends 9/22/2019 #RMWeekend Borussia Monchengladbach vs Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany- Gladbach are in an unstable way. The imbalance, the lack of sharpness. but Thuram came on, sharper, hungrier, than Plea and two goals. Fortuna were never prepared to handle the late surge and were depleted in energy. thuram 1- lovely movement from him. The slot assist was correct, but as in yesterday with Atletico, you need a player there and while Plea was not in minutes before, Thuram was. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8aiuCDXC?fid=1034:4419461835356135 thuram 2- Rafael came on and started aiding trickier, skill in midfield and Fortuna became overrun in phases. Thuram was part of a set looking to get a late three points. As I said before the season, gladbach is in a modulating phase. Rafael is older, hazard is gone, plea is inconsistent. So, this season is a rebuild. The season is early but the time it takes to find the balance may cost us table places. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8aloi8E4?fid=1034:4419463479762888 Chelsea vs Liverpool in england- the two set pieces Liverpool had by the 30th minute they made. In both cases, the set piece defense from chelsea was poor. The pundits say the midfield is not making goals, but if the midfield is not making goals then deepen the posture. Play deeper and Tammy Abraham's initial position is always in the chelsea half, thus no offside. Liverpool loves the counter and long ball, a deep bunker deletes both and with chelsea's midfielders willing to do everything but score we have the midfielders to do it, and it will help Abraham escape that Liverpool highline offside trap. As I told Queen Moseph @queenjohn4 , this chelsea is the mirror to the Mourinho project. It is shorter all over the pitch, where we had cech/terry/lampard/drogba we now have Keper/azpilicueta/willian/abraham . Chelsea had players that could run from box to box. Now we have players that must use passing. VAR delete Azpilicueta- It was correct, but it can be argued, that a VAR recall must have a pass limit. Chelsea made four passes after the offside. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8aFlg0xP?fid=1034:4419475143909161 Ngolo Kante goal- In the loss against Napoli, Liverpool were unable to play a high pace, and their game is based on pace. Napoli played them on the counter side the ground, deleting the counter. Liverpool slowed down this match and Chelsea came back in. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8b08rGPx?fid=1034:4419488825977120 Galatasaray vs YEni Malatyaspor in Turkey - The season is long in Turkey. Galatapalace has started slowly, but that is not bad cause it may make the uptake better deep in the season. The draw is alright, Galatasaray are missing Drogba or Gomis or Diany or one of those dominant big men to be the spear point. Falcao is a goal scorer but he may not have the fitness for tough turkey battles. Jean Michael Seri- unchallenged header, from a short midfielder. The cross to him was lovely. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I8aNv98jm?fid=1034:4419480835788570 Real Madrid vs Sevilla in spain- this is a battle. 12. Weekend 9/21/2019 #rmweekends Atletico Madrid vs RC Celta in Spain- by the third minute, the set piece quality from Atleti returned. This match for me was the second big test of the rotation system for Simeone this season. The rotation recovered a loss at the Wanda. The rotation starting Felipe side Correa, each a potent player. Atletico transitioned well in this game. The one flaw was the cognition from defenders to pass to open wide players. Atletico didn't use their width enough, when they did Celta was exposed. By 69:43 Atleti through Lodi crosses had many chances to score, but none of the crosses were reached. Trippier side Lodi are the replacements to Juan Fran/Felipe Luis Atletico needed. In the end, Lodi made the crosses but we just couldn't touch them. the season is long. Sevilla will drop points more points. Highlights- atleti came close but no cigar, luckily Barcelona are proving absent Messi what real madrid are proving absent cr7, that psg having neymar/mbappe is looking a very wise investment https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I82iji67q?fid=1034:4419153931741182 In Amendment To Sarri led Juventus, I saw his time at Empoli or Napoli. And Napoli showed Sarri is a very good coach, but he is for midtable teams not top of the table teams. To Atletico women- They lost 6-1 against Barca women, though Sampedro scored first and that is a good sign. Atletico won three straight domestic titles in spain, hard fought. I can accept a modulating season as some players in atleti are fatigued, many spanish flag players, who have been very busy too. It is hard being the champions season after season. The atleti/barca matches dictate the spanish womens champion usually in the past five seasons. Same as OL/PSG in the french womens league. https://twitter.com/Lola_Gallardo1/status/1175452424926093313 To premier edition trophee des championnes femenines - Olympique Lyonnais femenines defeated PSG femenines to win the first Trophee des Championnes for women. 13. FC #Juarez vs #Pumas Femenil- Futbol #MExicano #Femenino Primera Division Before the match Juarez is eighteenth in the table and Pumas is twelfth. It may seem a simple win, but Pumas must win to get into the playoff. A six-point gap already exist between Pumas and the team in eight position. Luckily for now, relegation nor promotion exists in this league, thus Juarez have no fears but long term, their organization must do better. GOALS Introduction to teams https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7M1F4qMl?fid=1034:4418527482829167 Jessica Vazquez goal- the implosion by PUMAS after two Juarez players cut through them was telling. Garcia defeated Machuca but as before, the post is Machuca's friend. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7MAziOGs?fid=1034:4418550174315156 End match highlights- I was hoping for the last play of the game where Pumas's keeper was caught out, trying to assist in a set piece, but the Juarez player's strike was blocked by a UMAS player. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7MYxArD7?fid=1034:4418563549685399 After the Match Juarez was louder than Azteca with Club America playing earlier. Juarez is at the bottom of the table but by this performance, they clearly have the ability to rise and if they play sharply, they can climb. They are not an explosive side. After the goal, they played an Italian job on PUMAS. Defensively, I was impressed by Juarez ability in the first half, but the second half came. Around the 70th minute Pumas started to raise the tempo and Juarez looked gassed, especially in defense. Machuca was beaten two times, but the bar saved Juarez. The media kept showing the female head coach of PUMAS, but that wasn't necessary. Her team played better in the second half. To be honest, UNAM or Pumas misses explain their position. I am not suggesting Juarez was bunkered into a hole, but Juarez seemed less sharp in attack, almost looking as a team to withstand this.
  14. #America vs Club #Leon -Futbol #MExicano #Femenino Primera Division #LigaMXfemenil Before the match I never watched a Mexican first tier woman's match before today. So, I am not as familiar to all the players. But over time I will be. This league started three seasons ago in 2017. The one question in my mind is over time, how will this league compare to the national women's soccer league in the usa. Anyway, like in the mens game, soccer in mexico is split between two seasons in one calendar year, a format I wish more leagues will adopt. This is the apertura or opening season. Monterrey top the table by one point, with Pachuca right under them. This is round eleven in a thirty-six-round tournament, it is round robin. It is funny, how this league has more teams than the NWSL. Now to the match, America is ninth while Leon is fifteenth. By table position the advantage is in America, and America need to win to get into the playoffs. GOALS Introduction to players https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7LTCzFpG?fid=1034:4418522382534227 Club America attempt https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7LVx4iZ6?fid=1034:4418524903321499 Club Leon Attempt https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7LWg2B0q?fid=1034:4418525452777649 End of match and highlights- they didn't put the America keepers save in it, it was the play of the game, fingertips. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7LYOEAEO?fid=1034:4418526186783941 After the Match Espinoza in America had a free header in the box and she had time to actually adjust her position and get her head behind the ball. Her error was trying to guide it. With the space or time, she had, she needed to get behind that ball and blast the header in. Even if the keeper touches it more than likely it will go through. Seeing these teams remind me to female soccer in spain or italy. Alot of these players are used to watching latin football, from latin football homes, so they are used to tactics/technique as part of the game, more than athleticism. The problem is, even with great collective strategy or segmented tactics or individual skill, you need a level from athleticism to make it go. And, a focus is not on their running. Either America or LEon's running, while not the fastest I saw in the womens game, is not the issue. The issue is the passing. Too often, I saw passes that were just not strong enough to get the ball where it needs to be. The player Valera made two great tackles by the 45th minute. After halftime, circa 49:38 Espinoza has to reach that, another free header, harder than the one before the half. But you have to reach that. 54th minute, the America keeper saved the blushes of her team. Don't know which Leon player made the header, but it was a wonderful save. I give both teams credit, some players were in it for the long haul.
  15. The health of female players- I quote Rabeeta Farooque @offsidebeet : "Women's football generates less revenue from ticketing and sponsorship, and that means lower salaries. Whatever. But when you're injured, medical costs are the same regardless of gender. Docs don't charge women less just because they earn less revenue. ... I get that small clubs don't have the money to assume the financial liability of a player injured long term. But then those clubs shouldn't be pro. A professional club's minimum standards need to include care of seriously injured players. Kicking them out is not a solution. ... How messed up is that? A player tears her ACL while playing for a pro club, who then terminates her contract because she'll be out too long. Clubs should remain semi-pro if they can't provide medical protection. Otherwise, there's too much risk for female players." I quote Suzanne Wrack, from the article Rabeeta referenced: "Except surely there is an argument to say that, if a club cannot support even the most basic of insurance policies for its players, then its viability as a functioning and sustainable club in a professional or semi-professional league should be more thoroughly questioned?" The problem is the meeting between media or communal demand for professionalism in the women's game equal to men SIDE the lack of sponsorships, tickets sales or revenue in the women's game. Rabeeta or Wrack make a true point, if gender is equal and men have a standard called professional then a women's team cannot be professional if the standard the men have is not being met by that women's club. The problem is beyond England or western UEFA, never forget the men's or women's game is global. How many female players are being given such promises on investment, now or in the future? I pay attention, watch when i can on replay, the Nigerian women's premier league. I cannot believe Nigerian women are given or will be given labor protections for after an injury. Globally the labor provisions Rabeeta or Wrack suggest, correctly, need to be for women if they are standard for men is just not going to happen on professional teams till the tickets and the sponsors are able to pay for them. Until then only if an owner, like Aulas for Olympique Lyonnais, choose to pay these costs from their own coiffeurs will they happen. And, in most of the world, which is far larger than UEFA, post injury labor protections or costs preparations will not happen. To be honest, that doesn't happen in the men's game either, around most of the globe. Article https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/sep/17/player-welfare-womens-football-medical-care-insurance Rabeeta tweet https://twitter.com/OffsideBeet/status/1174358079745531909

I am happy for them as they are not a historic power in brazil and they have a way of going about their affairs other than the majors. Some say, Brazil need to allow private clubs but futebol leagues outside the usa are competitive base, simply manage or operate better and you will succeed over those who do not. PAranaense shows the way, others are free to follow. SC Corinthians vs Independiente del Valle #CopaSudamericana Semifinal round 1 #Timao #independiente #delValle Pre-Match Corinthians have a lot on their plate. 17. UEFA Champions League 2019/2020 9/18/2019 My prediction Clubbe Brugge-Galatasaray 0-3 Olympiacos-Tottenham 1-1 Bayer-Lokomotive Moscow 2-2 PSG-Real Madrid 0-1 Bayern-Crvena zvezda 2-0 Atletico MAdrid- Juventus 1-0 Shaktar Donetsk-MCFC 3-0 Dinamo Zagreb-Atalanta 0-0 The results Clubbe Brugge-Galatasaray 0-0 Olympiacos-Tottenham 2-2 Bayer-Lokomotive Moscow 1-2 PSG-Real Madrid 3-0 Bayern-Crvena zvezda 3-0 Atletico MAdrid- Juventus 2-2 Shaktar Donetsk-MCFC 0-3 Dinamo Zagreb-Atalanta 4-0 In comparison Clubbe Brugge-Galatasaray Galatasaray are unbalanced continuing the early season trend. But Fatih Tarim has time to work on this squad. I mentioned to Jean Quiel that, if Galatasaray can find their balance before Real Madrid and Clubbe Brugge play against Real Madrid like they did against Galatasaray and Real Madrid are still imbalanced absent Marcelo. I agree to him that Real Madrid can be the bottom of the group. Jean Quiel https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003405247213&ref=br_rs Olympiacos-Tottenham I was correct, a draw happened but by more goals. Bayer-Lokomotive Moscow the Russians, choochoo-ed Bayer. I do not get to see the Russian premier league. But a good day for Lokomotive. Will be interesting to see if they progress in the competition. PSG-Real Madrid Neymar and Mbappe was laughing at halftime. No not at my prediction but something else. Neymar can see gold at the end of the tunnel. Eric KRakauer from Beinsports said that PSG finally have depth. But the key was replacements for me. I never comprehended why PSG let matuidi go and kept verratti/thiago motta/Rabiot. But they did. But in Gueye PSG finally have a proper midfielder to support their many attackers, aside players like herrera. KRakauer https://twitter.com/EricKrakauer/status/1174425434005692416 Bayern-Crvena zvezda I was correct, but Bayern one up-ed the score. Atletico MAdrid- Juventus This pre-final final was another great battle but hope atleti can defeat juventus in turin. Atleti need Morata healthy. The trident of Felix//Costa/Morata is what my colcheneros need. Shaktar Donetsk-MCFC MCFC clearly was thinking about shaktar in england over the weekend. The absence to vincent kompany in the squad is telling to. Vincent could rally the guys to fight on multiple fronts, and David Silva leaving in January is another change. MCFC is going through a phase. Guardiola said three years is the maximum time at a club, but we shall see. Dinamo Zagreb-Atalanta Atalanta as the players admitted is trying to stay up in the italian serie a. In conclusion The group stage is still early. too early to start writing death sentences or predicting high drama. Some teams proved that they are putting a little more in the UEFACL than their league race, to be more energetic and not get caught in late group stage theatrics, which tend to rub off on domestic championship races. The surprises from Napoli/Locomotive/Slavia Prague prove that some teams have run a good set of form while their balance has weakness.
  18. UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2019/2020 9/17/2019 My predictions inter 3 slavia 0 slavia is weak lyon 1 zenit 1 pure battle , test for sylvinho chelsea 0 valcencia 2 and i support chelsea but their youth can catch them red bull 4 genk 1 genk is weak napoli 0 liverpool 0 pure battle Ajax 1 Lille 2 battle but lille is better Benfica 2 Leipzig 2 battle dortmund 0 FC Barcelona 3 from fati The Results inter 1 slavia prague 1 lyon 1 zenit 1 Chelsea 0 Valencia 1 red bull 6 genk 1 napoli 2 liverpool 0 ajax 3 lille 0 benfica 1 leipzig 2 dortmund 0 barcelona 0 In Comparison Slavia Prague, whom I rarely see, pulled an Italian job on Inter Milan. Inter Milan was not sharp. I called Lyon/Zenit correct. Lyon is a battling team; at their best they break even. Valencia proved me correct that Chelsea's youth will come into play. Oh, Pulisic is a shirt seller, not a top player. I knew little Genk would get hammered, but not so bad. I didn't show courage, but I was worried that Liverpool's speed will cut through Napoli, but Koulibaly read the entire Liverpool team. Ajax showed me Lille is not prepared for UEFA champions league play. Leipzig won but it was a battle. I thought Barcelona through even a benched Messi will win but the youth of Dortmund is electric early season. Dortmund will crumble later on. In conclusion I got Olympique Lyonnais and Chelsea correct. Lyon do everything well but nothing fabulously. On our day, Le Gones can defeat any team, but usually we are a battling side. Chelsea have electric youth but in the UEFA Champions league you tend to face very experienced teams and many players from Chelsea who are starting are young or inexperienced. Valencia on the other hand have been through some tough battles to sharpen their resolve. A fun day in the UEFA champions league as always Matches Inter Milan/ Slavia PRague I did not see this match in completion but the extra time of eight minutes was an onslaught from Inter. GOALS Nicolo Barella goal, a smartly placed ball. The set piece that started it off was saved by the crossbar, so Inter gained Fortuna's grace. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7qAWAoIP?fid=1034:4417704774542922 Ondřej Kolář saved a header from close range. Lukaku did well to reach the ball which was ahead of him but Kolar's save was priceless. Slavia need the point to get into the Europa league at least. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I7qBLFFdG?fid=1034:4417705533712760 Napoli/Liverpool Koulibaly was magnificent by the 30th minute, absent what happened in the match. I don't know how many passes he intercepted but they were many. The referee in this match let handballs against Liverpool go. Two by my count by the 25th minute. I thought the new rules said handball, automatically gives the ball to the opposing team. Virgil Van DJik
  19. Post Abuse- Eniola ALuko @EniAlu made an article in @guardian_sport , stating her case for legal action needing movement after racial abuse online or on the pitch. She used examples from herself or players like Romelu lukaku as well as Millwall's recent fines in comparison. To make her case that clubs need another system, a harsher one, in comparison to how match fixing or financial fair play penalizes clubs in a visibly modulating way. To that end she used Chelsea football clubs transfer ban and how chelsea, in my opinion for now, has brought in many former players and has played their developed youth that led to a level of success. I quote her: "Deterrents can change culture. Just look at Chelsea, where a transfer ban has transformed the club into one where a young English manager is appointed to help young English players such as Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, who wouldn’t have had a sniff otherwise, find a path to the first team. The club have been forced to reassess how they work; they have brought in Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, Jody Morris and Claude Makelele, a group of people who used to play for the club, and completely changed how they go about their business. That’s what rules do in the game." SHe didn't say the following , in terms of bluntness, but it is her message. Changing the culture in fans or clubs to be react harsher to negative bias toward anyone will be financially or culturally abusive to clubs or fans. Like a transfer ban it will not be something gentle toward finances or fans. I will say her argument miss one key point about the beautiful game, that will make said penalties harder. Futebol is a global game and the financial or cultural penalties legally plausible in some uefa countries have: no legal foundation or support in most countries in or outside UEFA like in her ancestral Nigeria. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/sep/12/legal-action-players-next-step-online-abuse?CMP=share_btn_tw
  20. The fate to #Ansu #Fati of #FCB #Barcelona #Barca I made a statement to the following question on Sports Burst on Beinsports USA in Facebook: where will Ansu Fati play in spain or guinea bissau? My statement was: I hope fati play for guinea bissau , i comprehend having lived in spain he may decide for spain but , the guinea bissau team will teach him about leadership and how to be on a team where the talent is not as great around you. Mike Fuentes replied to me: You know he will never make a World Cup on that team. He’s gonna play for Spain just for that opportunity and i don’t blame him I replied back: well, world cup slots are enlarging. Nine slots by 2026. Think on that. Under the current system that is eight winners from sixteen pairs and one team at the top of the best of the rest, making nine. Ghana/nigeria/egypt/algeria/south africa/senegal/tunisia/cameroon/morrocco/algeria/ivory coast/congo/ and some others fit the eight pair. Guinea Bissau can make the top of the rest with a star diamond player. The expansion of the world cup slots changes a lot for CAF/AFC in terms of who can qualify. like with the women's world cup enlarging and poor Thailand. Under older or the current format, I concur to you. But under the new, I think Guinea Bissau with a diamond player has a chance and moreover, if he can get Guinea Bissau to one world cup as an automatic starter, he will be bigger than Weah in Liberia and can be great for his post playing career. ... it is his choice in the end. but I think the gamble is worth it. I wonder what gary bailey thinks? The referral https://www.facebook.com/beINSPORTSUSA/videos/422846281674746/?comment_id=422859268340114
  21. Weekend 9-14-2019 Real Madrid vs Levante in Spain When Casemiro doesn't play, the real madrid midfield is significantly weak, as well as the defense. In the first half, Zidane utilized experience, champions league winning core. Then in the second half he took off casemiro and Sergio Ramos, substituting in Hazard side the young brazilian defender. Zidane will rotate but rotated players must prove themselves. Zidane will not allow bench players to take senior spots if they don't earn it. Real Madrid survived but the rotated players must become sharper when asked to deliver. Eden Hazard introduction https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6VN3suDm?fid=1034:4416520277933092 Gonzalo Melero goal- this was after casemiro side sergio ramos was substituted off. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6VS93dsJ?fid=1034:4416523901543875 Borussia Monchengladbach vs FC Koln in Germany Koln is a fighting team. Plea from OGCNice was hacked many a time in this match. Eventually he stopped fighting. And the match became as some will say alot of huffing and puffing. But, Gladbach eventually won. Alassane Plea- it was a team goal, but Plea did well to finish it off https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6WmppZR7?fid=1034:4416542763638092 Paris Saint Germain vs Strasbourg in France Tuchel started navas/dagba, thiago silva, Diallo, kurzawa/ gueye, verrati/sarabia, neymar, di maria/ choupo moting The back four is no good at PSG. Dagba on one side and Kurzawa on the other. And Verratti instantly showed he is in the way. Neymar is very creative and Verratti does not move. What is it with PSG and Verratti? Verratti playing with Neymar centrally is a waste. Verratti is not iniesta or busquets or xavi. He doesn't move like iniesta at his best, break up play like busquets at his best or pass like xavi at his best. Verratti was in Neymar's way, why can't Tuchel place another attacker on? I repeat TUchel is the problem at PSG. By the 60th minute I saw nothing from PSG in terms of cohesiveness. The system Tuchel applied is not fitting the players. https://aalbc.com/tc/blogs/entry/249-richard-murray-thoughts-version-2/?do=findComment&comment=684 Truth from Neymar https://twitter.com/neymarjr/status/1172870957750505478 Neymar's first goal of 2019/2020 for PSG- the athleticism, skill, magic, Santos, remember everyone, he is not a barca or psg player, he is a santos player https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6XNruo1o?fid=1034:4416597524460558 Neymar VAR disallowed goal https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6XOo1arK?fid=1034:4416598564401099 Atletico Madrid vs Real Sociedad in spain It seems the loseless streak had to come to an end. Two deflected goals came through. The first was deflected off a defender past oblak. In the second goal, the ball hit off Oblak's face , that caused the concussion. By the end of the game, Oblak/Felix/Morata were not in the side. Three players that are starters but the season is long, i hope atleti could keep the the point earning streak till the face off against barcelona or real. Chelsea vs Wolverhampton in England Tammy Abraham scored three. I am very happy but I suggest caution, the real test to a player is against the best. Abraham will show whether he can carry the London Blue home. The following is from prior in the week Galatasaray vs Kasimpasa in Turkey - Falcao scoring for Galatapalace on Friday, the only goal in the match. Falcao is a great player, but like icardi need a team to deliver opportunities. https://twitter.com/ESbeINSPORTS/status/1172573936774733825
  22. #Braga vs #PSG 9/12/2019 UEFA Womens Champions League #UEFAWCL #UWCL BEFORE THE MATCH I expected PSG to win. In the female game in UEFA, the gulf between the champions of the big countries, meaning France/Germany, to champions of the lesser is physically or tactically visible or delineated. If you watched enough female soccer you will know this very well. But as in the male game, how a big team wins exposes what they are not doing well, which can haunt them later; at the least, it offer no surprise if they fail later. GOALS Marie Antoinette Katoto @MarieKatoto circa 7th minute- It was earned by Grace Geyoro who just cut through the Braga defenders with her dribble. The passing from PSG in midfield was not strong for the goal. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6FBcfkIN?fid=1034:4415898082321938 Marie Antoinette KAtoto circa 35th minute- It started by a mistake from the Braga keeper. She basically passed it to Diani or Geyoro whom after made a cross that was deflected. Katoto did well to control it and show composure, which the French coach Diacre, seem to think she do not have. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6FOWr5AK?fid=1034:4415907024300411 Formiga goal circa 41st minute- It was set piece from DaBritz that found Formiga. Formiga used a masterful touch. But this goal was the first PSG scored based on PSG quality, not Braga error. Formiga is very experienced, the Brazilian living legend is one of those rare true footballers. But, the goal took to long to occur. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6FQreqpa?fid=1034:4415907913494367 Diani @Kady944 goal circa 46th minute- The touches to control the lob from midfield was lovely as well as the chip. Diani proved my position to her as a non-natural goal scorer wrong in this instance, but the proof is against better defensive opposition than Braga. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6FZ18vOr?fid=1034:4415913198322503 Katoto circa 62nd minute- She earned a hat trick. Diani side Katoto are so athletic, teams that are not used to two athletically strong attacking forwards are in for a rare problem. It was in the end a free header, but Braga defenders had enough of running after or physically handling Katoto. Katoto side Geyoro came off for Huitema side Baltimore, good experience for the less experienced or powerful players. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6G6785Hw?fid=1034:4415917447387210 Jordyn Huitema @JordynHuitema circa 93rd minute – Her first goal, Baltimore did well to offer the chance to assist, which I suggest Huitema take against better opposition; but she took advantage of the tired Braga defenders. The possible one touch goal before was a good sign to the connections, Baltimore to Huitema can have in the future, Baltimore the Diani, Huitema the Katoto. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6Gjvafxg?fid=1034:4415925844160721 Huitema second goal circa 94th minute - Her timed run and dummy from a teammate was excellent to set it up, but her poise was nice. She has a nice touch on her. She isn't the fastest or strongest, but she has that goal poacher style, that is great off the bench for PSG. Good depth sign from the parisian powerhouses. https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I6GkidRIP?fid=1034:4415926418781063 After the match Katoto started the match with a miscommunication to Geyoro. PSG was very sloppy in their ball control or coordination to start the match and even after the 7th minute goal. But they took advantage of their individual ability to cut through Braga markers, in most one against one situation, to destabilize and imbalance Braga. Braga's Diana Gomez was stretchered off circa 13th minute with a leg injury. But she came on three minute later. Braga players to be fair, did not have the athleticism to run past PSG markers; but they had a passing calm that retained possession in defense. When PSG face a better team in the competition attacking wise, if faced with the same passing in the defensive setup as Braga, PSG will be force to play counterattack, which may favor Geyoro or Katoto; but it will expose how well PSG can formulate from defensive zone into attacking zone, in this game they did not do well throughout. In the 27th minute, my point was made, PSG's passing was not convincing. They seemed to bludgeon their way in the attack too often. Diani is not a natural goal scorer, compared to Katoto or Huitema, but is a great foil for one. Thus, why her and Gauvin in les bleus are in each other's way. By halftime, some called the 3-0 lead dominance but I disagree. PSG took advantage of an athletically weaker Braga, who couldn't execute their superior passing game fast or strong enough to punish PSG. But better opposition is in the later stages in this competition and PSG will be cut into if they have the same lack of sharpness in their passing or comprehension to each other. PSG started the second half wanting to control possession, and condensed higher up the pitch, released Diani who showed great class. Morroni I am not convinced can handle Cascarino , important in the Division 1 race in France ,in a battle after her 55th minute mental lapse; she is not fast enough and showed a lack of focus under no pressure with a large goal lead. Chinaza Uchendu came off for Farida Machia. I do not know why Uchendu was upset. PSG have a superior team in support, meaning trainers or financing. PSG also have more athletic or more experienced players than Braga. Braga players have no need to look pissed based on this result. Absent Geyoro or Katoto PSG showed attacking power over a demoralized Braga. Diani came off circa 73rd minute and the big three of PSG Katoto/Diani/Geyoro were all off. Oddly enough, PSG possession wise seemed more capable but Braga's forwards did not stop. Though the Braga collective was not interested in opening up their back. Circa 75th minute, the miss from Nadia Nadim was woeful, yes it was her first touch but on a team like PSG, she must score that slotter. Huitema or Baltimore have to show either can score starting a match. It is not the same thing to come off the bench against a Braga.
  23. Neymar at PSG 2019/2020 In or around the summer in 2019 I made various statement to Neymar , concerning his tenure at PSG. https://aalbc.com/tc/blogs/entry/249-richard-murray-thoughts-version-2/page/7/?tab=comments#comment-668 After some thought I arrive at the following system. 334 Di Maria/Icardi/Cavani/Mbappe Gueye/Neymar/Herrera Marquinhos/Thiago Silva/Kimpembe Navas why this system? First, PSG have no wide backs. Bernat/Kehrer/Kurzawa are not high quality for one reason or another. Jean Quiel https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003405247213&ref=br_rs stated that PSG reminds him of the Real MAdrid team that went on to win the treble. I concur it is an attack heavy team with proper width but this PSG lack the players like MArcelo or Carvajal. in the wide back role. Sequentially, flip it. Neymar isn't needed to play wide when you have PSG's squad and Verratti is less a creative force than neymar. Place neymar behind four with the two strongest midfielders PSG have to break plays up and defend, them being Gueye side Herrera and you have the midfield workers who will do three key jobs, support the back three, defend neymar, find neymar in midfield allowing him to play the free role. Second, the forward line. Di Maria side Mbappe like the wide role. NEither is a center forward and neither is a midfielder. ICardi is a goal poacher, he is best when he can play that role and not have to worry about pulling out wide or dropping deep and supporting. In this line, Cavani can play the dropping deep role, which he does brilliantly for uruguay , while di maria side mbappe have the wings for counter attack or crossing. ICardi can stay up top and be the ever dangerous. With neymar behind all four, he will choose the best option. Lastly, the front four will automatically push teams back. When you play a 3 or 2 up top, you need players from midfield to go into the forward line and press. But when you naturally play a front four, the press is automatically on, absent players need to shift positions. PSG's front four are not good at shifting position, outside Cavani. Third, the backline, Kimpembe/Thiago Silva/MArquinhos are all leaders or captains while honest central defenders. They will need two from the midfield three to support them at times but each are excellent one on one defenders which will cancel many teams. And having so much weight up top, they have the long ball available, not only the short. Lastly, Navas in the back. Pressing, attacking heavy systems, meaning the strategy side the players, requires a great keeper on the move. Tuschel did not play a proper counterattack for Buffon and Areola is an all around great keeper who is not excellent in any one way. Navas's movement is great. He will cover and with the three in front of him, they will coordinate well. This system also favors rotation , whether by fatigue or injury. Bernat/Choupo/Draxler/Sarabia Paredes/Verratti/Meunier Diallo/Kurzawa/Kehrer Rico Bernat is more an attacking winger than defensive winger. Choupo is a versatile number 9. Draxler has a great shot but needs to be central in the attacking area. Sarabia is more attacking winger who can drop in a job on defendse which will allow Meunier the overlapping he likes to do. VErratti need more ahead of him. PAredes can break up play. Diallo is a proper defender. Kurzawa has lost pace but is a battler and Kehrer is mobile enough to play in a back three. Rico substitute in for the goal keeper. PSG with a 334 strategy have two squads to play that strategy, thus a system that allows for rotation. The question is, will Tuschel see it? will he allow it? Last season buffon came in for a season and tuschel did not play a pure counterattack. Icardi is in, he is a great goal poacher. But he needs the system. Tuschel has many attacking players in the squad. he has many players who are best on the forward line. The best way to have depth in the team is to use a strategy that is heavy in the forward area. We shall see...

  25. Athletico #Paranaense vs SC #Internacional #CopadoBrasil PReMatch the long season in brasil is ending and the copa final is upon us. This is the first leg. GOALS Bruno Guimaraes - the brilliant thing in the goal is the speed of the one touch strike, notice it. https://www.weibo.com/7030963893/I6yO4000x?from=page_1005057030963893_profile&wvr=6&mod=weibotime After the Match This tie is not over, PAulo Guerrero will have a chance to add another notch in his legend in porto alegre. I advise all to see that match. Internacional if I am honest seem leggy, the long season has taken some of their more traveled players under its spell. PAranaense's less traveled squad look pumped, BUT, home crowds may be able to stir up extra sharpness. Both teams showed nervousness in the last quater of the match that is troubling for either side. PAranaense can not play wildly open, like real madridm or Inter will punish them eventually. Inter on the other hand have to not rush the game. They played as if they feared needing to preserve a clean sheet while score in the second leg. Maybe that fear will turn out to be warranted, but it shows bad nerves on them. PAranaense do have the advantage, if they score first in the next leg... Internacional will need legendary plays from there captains.
