ProfD Posted April 1 Report Posted April 1 POTUS has issued two threats: 1) Sanctions and tariffs against Russia if they violate the cease-fire deal in war with Ukraine: https://www.reuters.com/world/trump-threatens-russia-others-with-sanctions-if-ukraine-deal-not-reached-2025-01-22/ 2) Bomb Iran if they continue pursuing a nuclear weapon: https://www.reuters.com/world/trump-says-there-will-be-bombing-if-iran-does-not-make-nuclear-deal-2025-03-30/ Polar opposite approaches in terms of diplomacy. Kid gloves for Russia. Sledgehammer for Iran. Surely, there's no confusion as to why these countries are viewed and treated so differently.

POTUS admires Putin's dictatorial style of leadership. I think Vlady has a file on him too. OTOH, POTUS knows Iran *hates* the US and would love to see it crumble.

GET SOME POWER -and people will treat you better and more respectfully. If you notice, they don't treat North Korea like they treat Iran, either....lol. They handle North Korea with almost the same respect they handle Russia with. Get some power.

Dictatorship is the common denominator between Russia and North Korea. POTUS OJ wants to be that guy. Iran is ruled by a theocracy. Different type of power. The Ayotallah has indoctrinated his followers into a religious ideology part of which characterizes the West as a demonic empire. Millions of people are ready to fight and die to protect their way of life against imperialism. Regardless of how a sovereign country chooses to roll its program, as long as their citizens are cool with it and they are not trying to spread their ideology across the planet, I'm fine with it. Let sovereign nations do their own thing. They should have a right to protect themselves against foreign adversaries too.

Even with that mentality, how EFFECTIVE do you think they'd be in warding off an actual attack from America....or even Israel?

Even with that mentality, how EFFECTIVE do you think they'd be in warding off an actual attack from America....or even Israel? It has been effective for 46 years and counting. Iran has been able to sponsor terrorism without coming under attack. Neither the US nor Israel will attack Iran unless there is a major provocation.
Pioneer1 Posted April 2 Report Posted April 2 ProfD While there hasn't been an all out WAR....yet...Israel has been going into Iran destroying facilities and issuing targeted assassinations for years. Shooting missiles directly into the nation and even the capital destroying factories and residences and it appears that Iran hasn't stopped them from doing it. The only exception I can remember was some months ago when Iran shot a barrage of misses at Israel for either it's treatment of the Palestians or the assassination of one of it's main leaders or both, I forgot the exact reason. Israel floats a missile in to hit a nuclear facility, destroying a complex and killing a bunch of scientists and in response? ....Iran holds a rally and the people wave a bunch of banners and chant a few anti-Israel slogans.....then after a day or two it's back to "normal". One could argue that the only reason there HASN'T been an all out war between Israel and Iran is because Iran is smart enough to know better.

Iran is kinda like the middle eastern version of North Korea. A country that refuses imperialism. Iran h8tes Israel because it is a middle eastern spy as the golden goose to the US. Israel is only *allowed* to attack Iran when as it comes to 1) self-defense and 2) as sanctioned by the US. Otherwise, because Iran is an oil rich country, their h8tred of the US and its allies will be tolerated up to a point. As long as Iran does not develop or obtain nuclear weapons, the threats and saber rattling will continue. Notice how quiet talk about North Korea has been over the past few years. The geopolitical chess games are ongoing. A lot of smoke and mirrors to keep 8 billion people in check.
