Suddenly I've drifted into a crazy zone. I have nothing but time on my hands, and I live around the clock, only sleeping when I'm sleepy, only eating when I'm hungry, suspended in limbo.

My Samsung smart phone is my ever present companion and it's like there's a connection  between my fingers and its keyboard and I have a compulsion to just write long dissertations or crazy vignettes, my words and thoughts feeding on each other like i'm  overtaken by a rogue AI entity that compels me to write about things I didn't know I knew, - like my subconcious mind is on overdrive. Like now.

Fortunately, I'm not immobile nor in dire health. But I do tire easily, and like to curl up on my recliner, where i still set aside time to do patternless crossword puzzles that seem to work themselves and play Bridge on line with computerized robots - who seem to becoming more human by the day...

Family relationships are normal, but there's this other world that I drift in and out of and when I sleep I have vivid dreams about all those who have gone ahead.  In a recent one  it seemed like my husband had hooked up with an old girlfriend. Why do I find this funny???

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining, not lonely nor depressed, just curious about this weird state I'm caught up in.

I still sometimes sneak out at night and look up at the stars...

Now i'm about to gear up for my daily walk up and down the driveway. Stay tuned,  - or tune out if you have better things to do than read the ramblings  of a crazy ol lady.

Hoping some winning POWERBALLnumbers will pop into my head. Nothing like a billion dollars to calm your impulses.

I tore my ACL so I also have a  lot of time. Waste a lot if time, but I  read a book or a chart an hour or two and periodically. I have caught the eyes of strangers and say hello. Or people will ask me if I'm okay or how did i hurt my leg. Also meeting more people.

I think having time allows forces to pull you towards them.

IMO, you have reached the zenith of life.  We should all be so fortunate to get there.

Relative good health is a bonus in the zenith of life.

Maybe you find it funny because of what you probably DID to that woman to prevent that from EVER happening, lol.

That's not blond hair. That's a gray wig to cover up my frizzy corn rows.

And I'm a passive, non jealous woman who never engaged in cat fights over men. I can understand if my husband hooked up with an old flame since I'm taking so damned long to join him on the "other side".

How many times have you hit the Lotto Jackpot (over $1,000,000) using this method?

Lottery winners of a million dollars or more usually aren't going to admit it publicly.

Have you ever considered or cut your hair short to rock underneath your hats?

I'm still waiting for a family member or friend who has gone over to the other side to confirm that it exists so that I can get my sh8t together. 🤣😎

Nah. Since my once thick bushy hair has thinned out with age and I'm all about convenience, I resort to doing what all those false-eyelash, acryllic nail wearing black woman are doing nowadays: wearing huge afro wigs made of synthetic hair, or long  luxurious "baby hair" wigs made from hair imported from India, or braided extensions made from whatever the ones in the local Korean-owned beauty supply stores are made of.

I dispense with all that glamour, however, and settle for styles that duplicate the ways I used to wear my hair which has turned completely gray. After my grand daughter does the cornrows, I'm good to go, although I don't do a lot of going nowadays which has a lot to do with the choices I make.

Understood.  Cornrows underneath the hat seems to be the next best thing to a cut. Simple is the way to good.😎

Btw, I don't wear the corn rows on public   They are just a way of keeping my real hair out of the way of my "artificial coiffs".😉

I figured you weren't rocking the 'rows out in them streetz.🤣😎

(What old ladies do when they have too much time on their hands.)  🙄

              *************

No National Guard troops have shown up in Chicago yet.

Latest news reports a confrontation between 2 women in a black neighborhood ends with one shooting the other in the face, killing her.

Three-year-old playing with gun, accidently shoots and kills himself.

And Life goes on... Or does it??

That is just terrible.  One reason I don't "the news" real life violence and tragedy is just so sad.  I simply cant image what I'd do if my 3-year-old shot herself with a gun laying around the house.  Who is that stupid and careless...

@aka Contrarian you look great with a mind to match!

9/11will soon be here. Maybe tomorrow we should all pause and observe a moment of silence for the dead end reached by Ubrachist in his ongoing search  to explain why  the Twin Towers collapsed.🤨

There will be some form of 9/11 commemoration tomorrow.

They won't spend an iota of time explaining why the towers collapsed.🤣😎

@TroyThat really is an eerie, yet beautiful image. Doesn't seem like it's been 24 years since the 911 disaster.

My grandson sent me a clip of the gory on-the-scene shooting of Charlie Ritz's killing.

I like your selection better.

News media is reporting the death of screen icon and heartthrob, Robert Redford. He was 89.

And, like me, he was born on August 18th. He's the second celeb born on this date to pass this year. Malcolm Jamal Warner was also born on August 18th.

Oh, well...

👋 Rest in Peace, Bobby. 💥

When I heard the news this morning, I thought about how heartbroken you might be that an icon of your generation has left the rock.😁😎

Ummm, the death of an 89 year old man who lived  a long and productive life and died surrounded by loved ones is hardly a cause for me to be heartbroken.  Especially since I'm not a sentimental slob.

C'est la vie.

I feel that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was a love story about two menn.

That was one school of thought about this film classic.

@aka Contrarian he lived made films and then created one of the most widely film festivals in the world. Plus he was Sonia Braga's lover.

The film clearly made am strong impression on him since he named the festival after his character.

@DelanoYes, no doubt about it,  Redford made his mark in many areas of the film industry as well being a philanthropic political Liberal. Someone said it's his life America should be celebratimg instead of the bigoted Charlie Kirk's. I agree!

I was caught off guard by how many people who, like Prod D, thought about me when they heard of Redford's passing.  -and called me!

Yes, I was a fan of his but down through the years, for me his greatest claim to fame was always sharing a birthday with me! (Sorry, ProfD, for being so brusque with you. )

Btw, Delano, have you ever seen the movie "Broke Back Mountain"?

Recalling their first sex scene. It didn't look like two men in love.

Well, -  they were 2 lonely, awkward cowboys in a tent on a moutain. I don't know what an  authentic scenario called for. The movie was based on a book, I believe.

It just had a different dynamic. There was an uneasiness between the two characters. I can't fully remember but i think one character , berated the other character for being gay. And both characters his it from their wives.

Whereas Butch and the Kid share a woman. Which is the sign where Paul Newman rides the bike to the song Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.

I guess that's the main difference. They are both married amd alone. Whereas Butch and the kid are loners together. Who can accept each others strengths and weaknesses.

I'd characterize the relationship between Butch and Sundance as more of a "Bro-mance". I didn't get the impression that they shared Robert Redford's girlfriend.

In "Broke Back Mountain" the 2 guys both were later divorced by their wives.

In real life, actor Jake Gyllenhaal did admit to being heartbroken over Heath Ledger's death from an overdose.
