Same thing goes for gospel music. The songs will start out with how bad they were and their struggles but through the love of sky fairy amd his Son there is still hope for joy, happiness and everlasting life.🤣

 

It is probably best to leave people to their religious beliefs. Especially those who have been heavily indoctrinated.

 

Religion and drugs are very similar to the extent that many people use them to cope with their existence.

 

A person addicted to drugs has to want to stop uisng before intervention is effective.

 

Same goes for people who have been brainwashed in one way or another. They have to want their 3rd eye to be opened.😎

The Bible doesn't necessarily say that Black people or any specific race be the slaves, so Black folks could just as easily use the Bible to justify White Slavery.

The question is why should any human be enslaved to another. 

 

Enslaving folks has absolutely nothing to do with basic human needs and/or survival.

 

I understand how and why slavery happened but it's wrong in the grand scheme of things.

 

No other creature on the planet enslaves another. Not even their enemies. 😎

Slavery practiced in the United States was the worse form in history.
However the "typical" slavery as practiced around the globe through out history involved capturing enemy combatants that you haven't killed....along with their families, and putting them to work for you or your tribe/nation for the rest of their lives.

Their children...if they had any....were usually born free and even allowed to join the dominant community in some cases.

Some argue that enslaving your enemy was better than killing them.
Others say it was worse because it humiliated them.
Not sure one way or the other.

If a person truly IS a violent criminal who can't be reformed and is a guaranteed danger to the public, the only intelligent solution is imprisonment or death.
Imprisonment...in my opinion...is a form of slavery.

In this country it is actual slavery.  I drove pass a prison here on the Florida panhandle where there were fields inmates worked.

That was the entire purpose of the 13th Amendment.
You can't be forced to work EXCEPT by conviction of a crime.

Slavery wasn't outlawed in the United States; it was just REFORMED under new conditions.

There are prison work camps but they do make pittance wages which keeps it from being considered slavery.😎

Spent 13 years in Catholic schools.

Decided that I was an agnostic in 7th grade. Reading LOTS of science fiction since 4th grade probably influenced that.
