Interestingly, I never had White Man Listen! on the website until I read Harry's post.  I was really only familiar with Native Son and Black boy did not realize that Writer wrote poetry as well. It seems he what the anointed Black Writer until Baldwin Rose to prominence.  I'm not sure who took the crown after Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Amiri Baraka, maybe?  Who holds it now it now?  Perhaps no one individual has written so well, so prolifically, across genres for so long.  Actually now that I think about it maybe it is Walter Mosley.  Mosley definitely has the required white cosign.  Yeah, Mosley "has the Juice."
