May 16, 20178 yr comment_20937 The book is called Brown Girl Dreaming. People usually women, use the word "Brown" in the place of Black. I think this is unnecessary and potentially confusing. Brown I image is an attempt describe our skin color. But Blackness is about culture, nit skin color. It would be like white people calling themselves "Pink" people. Brown Girl Dreaming is a fantastically successful book. A Top 120 African-American Children’s Book 5 Time AALBC.com Bestselling Book!
