Weekend 9/21/2019 #rmweekends

Atletico Madrid vs RC Celta in Spain- by the third minute, the set piece quality from Atleti returned. This match for me was the second big test of the rotation system for Simeone this season. The rotation recovered a loss at the Wanda. The rotation starting Felipe side Correa, each a potent player. Atletico transitioned well in this game. The one flaw was the cognition from defenders to pass to open wide players. Atletico didn't use their width enough, when they did Celta was exposed. By 69:43 Atleti through Lodi crosses had many chances to score, but none of the crosses were reached.

Trippier side Lodi are the replacements to Juan Fran/Felipe Luis Atletico needed. In the end, Lodi made the crosses but we just couldn't touch them. the season is long. Sevilla will drop points more points.

Highlights- atleti came close but no cigar, luckily Barcelona are proving absent Messi what real madrid are proving absent cr7, that psg having neymar/mbappe is looking a very wise investment

In Amendment

To Sarri led Juventus, I saw his time at Empoli or Napoli. And Napoli showed Sarri is a very good coach, but he is for midtable teams not top of the table teams.

To Atletico women- They lost 6-1 against Barca women, though Sampedro scored first and that is a good sign. Atletico won three straight domestic titles in spain, hard fought. I can accept a modulating season as some players in atleti are fatigued, many spanish flag players, who have been very busy too. It is hard being the champions season after season. The atleti/barca matches dictate the spanish womens champion usually in the past five seasons. Same as OL/PSG in the french womens league.

To premier edition trophee des championnes femenines - Olympique Lyonnais femenines defeated PSG femenines to win the first Trophee des Championnes for women. It was 4-3 Amel MAjri earned player of the match.

Weekends 9/22/2019 #RMWeekend

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany- Gladbach are in an unstable way. The imbalance, the lack of sharpness. but Thuram came on, sharper, hungrier, than Plea and two goals. Fortuna were never prepared to handle the late surge and were depleted in energy.

thuram 1- lovely movement from him. The slot assist was correct, but as in yesterday with Atletico, you need a player there and while Plea was not in minutes before, Thuram was.

thuram 2- Rafael came on and started aiding trickier, skill in midfield and Fortuna became overrun in phases. Thuram was part of a set looking to get a late three points. As I said before the season, gladbach is in a modulating phase. Rafael is older, hazard is gone, plea is inconsistent. So, this season is a rebuild. The season is early but the time it takes to find the balance may cost us table places.

Chelsea vs Liverpool in england- the two set pieces Liverpool had by the 30th minute they made. In both cases, the set piece defense from chelsea was poor. The pundits say the midfield is not making goals, but if the midfield is not making goals then deepen the posture. Play deeper and Tammy Abraham's initial position is always in the chelsea half, thus no offside. Liverpool loves the counter and long ball, a deep bunker deletes both and with chelsea's midfielders willing to do everything but score we have the midfielders to do it, and it will help Abraham escape that Liverpool highline offside trap. As I told Queen Moseph @queenjohn4 , this chelsea is the mirror to the Mourinho project. It is shorter all over the pitch, where we had cech/terry/lampard/drogba we now have Keper/azpilicueta/willian/abraham . Chelsea had players that could run from box to box. Now we have players that must use passing.

VAR delete Azpilicueta- It was correct, but it can be argued, that a VAR recall must have a pass limit. Chelsea made four passes after the offside.

Ngolo Kante goal- In the loss against Napoli, Liverpool were unable to play a high pace, and their game is based on pace. Napoli played them on the counter side the ground, deleting the counter. Liverpool slowed down this match and Chelsea came back in.

Galatasaray vs YEni Malatyaspor in Turkey - The season is long in Turkey. Galatapalace has started slowly, but that is not bad cause it may make the uptake better deep in the season. The draw is alright, Galatasaray are missing Drogba or Gomis or Diany or one of those dominant big men to be the spear point. Falcao is a goal scorer but he may not have the fitness for tough turkey battles.

Jean Michael Seri- unchallenged header, from a short midfielder. The cross to him was lovely.

Real Madrid vs Sevilla in spain- this is a battle. My atleti needed a draw, both teams comprehended the importance, but by the 78th minute, Real Madrid was winning. And they won, the real madrid/zidane haters know are muted.

Karim Benzema goal- a lovely cross from carvajal, lovely header from benzema

In Amendment

OL side Deliveroo- the mens and womens money makes the world go round, and no one's unhappy! so get all that, you can right now, and stop complaining! happy for my TEAM OL, well earned but it takes success side time to get sponsors, it isn't de facto

Arsenal women win the continental cup

Francesca Kirby is back, and London Blue ladies won

Andrine Hegerberg first goal with Roma

Steel Roses under 17 of china success- goal from Shao Ziqin in the 81st minute against Vietnam

Who will you pick to come out of retirement, A provocative question- zidane is needed in juventus or real madrid midfield as a maestro, ronaldhino is a talisman gremio/psg/barca/ac milan need, Barca need puyol to lead the team and in defense, Eto'o is needed by inter or barca in attack, ronaldo is needed by real madrid for an offensive talisman or psv , henry is needed by monaco, AC Milan need maldini badly, mufc are too big a mess for scholes to fix, Roma need a midfield maestro like totti, desailly is needed badly by milan, OM need drogba badly, ac milan need pirlo badly but juventus could use him too, arsenal need a midfield maestro like bergkampf, ac milan need kaka badly, lahm's leadership over a long season is needed by bayern, sniejder is needed by galatasaray .

#Pumas vs Atletico #sanluis #ligamxfemenino

Before the match

In the last match Pumas, inability to convert gave the win to Juarez who withered but survived at the end. Atletico san luis is one step up from juarez in the table. Can Pumas connect, or does San Luis have a goal or two in them and the ability to survive.

Estéfany Hernández goal- Fabiola Santamaría, 19, made a nice cross on the ever-available left side of San luis. Nayeli Munguia,6, of San Luis made the poorest defensive kick away of the ball I saw this month. She knew she was surrounded but she has to be braver. In the end, she made an assist to Nataly Ávila, 21, of Pumas who had the official assist to Estéfany Hernández, 9

Fabiola Santamaría goal- Mélany Villeda made a long ball and the late run from Fabiola Santamaría, off the feint header from Estéfany Hernández , made her alone with the keeper.

Nataly Ávila attempt- she made the late run which like before is the exploiting play to San Luis defensively. She tried the backheel, but missed. She can become a great player over time.

Nataly Ávila attempt- the crossbar

highlights collage

After the Match

Ileana Dávila , one of only two female coaches in this league, the other being Eva Espejo for pachuca, had to get her team to start faster and convert better than the last game. ... In the first minute San Luis  cut into Pumas and only San Luis lack of quality prevented a goal from being scored. The coach will reinforce better starts between this match and the next, i wonder what is missing in comprehension. The coach has Pumas well in the attack, they can only get better, but in defense the collective movement is uncommunicative or slow in reaction. A san Luis player was injured and forced a substitution, I noticed she had a water bottle on her shoulder. San Luis is a small club and I imagine the men in that club don't have the greatest resources, but sharing the ice packs will be better to cool down high inflamation. By circa 10:31 , Pumas earned four set pieces. They keep exploiting the slow left side of San Luis, but the crosses have not been good enough. Diana Gómez is a thin woman, but she knows how to lower the gravity for those runs and command her markers.  Circa 16:32 Estéfany Hernández missed a trick, she needed to backheel the pass. Pumas earned a corner, but you have to know you have a free teammate behind you. Nataly Ávila has been in at least six hard tackles by the 38th minute. She has good speed, but she need to be more careful getting in those tackles. She has speed, but trying to curl around markers can be dangerous for such a small frame. I think to neymar, he is a multimillionaire with the finest health resources available, she is not. she must be careful getting into so many tough tackles. Age is not the key, it is trying to prevent the career changing tackle from occuring. Pumas lost their sharpness by the end of the first half, multiple offsides the last two from players that needed to check before the pass and adjust. San Luis do not have a condensed defensive shape, and as I typed this, Santamaria scored with the late run. Good comprehension by Pumas players. Avila made the simple complicated, after getting by her marker, she was uncertain to take a strike on goal, while in the box. Her slot found a marker, but the pumas player failed to hit the target. Avila's angle was better. You have to know when to be selfish. The second half started with a close attempt at goal but overall, UNAM still showing that lack of deadly finishing that can make them a top of the table side, besides their defensive needs. Pumas need another wide player to mirror Avila. Pumas force their attack down the right, but better teams will force them to do left, and i don't sense the same electricity. San Luis have a good forward in Karen Vázquez but she is not a goal machine, she is more a connector. The problem with a forward that brings in the midfield is the midfield need a speed or trickery San  luis collective midfield do not have. San Luis had another player go off through injury circa 70th minute. That is two in one game. Pumas luckily for Sna Luis are looking to the lob mostly, by that time. circa 82nd minute good save by a San luis defender and good run out from Daniela Carrandi but the Pumas defenders recovered.  In the 89th minute, good late run from Daniela García but she didn't have the energy or sharpness to test the keeper.

Toluca vs Guadalajara  Futbol Mexicano Femenino Primera

Before the match

This is seventh versus fifth with one point between them. Any team that win gain an advantage into reaching the playoffs. The half way mark of the apertura has not occurred so nothing is decided for any of the top half clubs in any way, even Monterrey but Monterrey in being steadfast place themselves in a better position. Toluca or Guadalajara will want to do the same.

Yashira Barrientos 33 goal- it was a from a practiced set piece. Toluca have a small team, even for mexican women. Guadalajara knew that and the set piece basically shifted weight, like in the rugby mixer, and toluca came up short, just not strong enough

Karla Saavedra 10 goal- The wide play of toluca started it off, the strike was deflected and fell to her, and she placed it. Toluca in defense seem a little too short but in attack, they are very quick of foot in small spaces.

Diana Carrillo goal- again the set piece defensive strength from toluca is exposed. they just got outmuscled and outreached. When you don't have the ability to react faster or outmuscle your opponent, execution of what you do is key in defense. Toluca spend alot of time in their offensive setup, but they need more time defensively, simply because their roster is naturally short. Chivas is taking advantage of a natural advantage, but on the ground, they are not better than toluca and that is how Chivas falter when bigger sized opposition face them.

Alondra Ubaldo save- it is not the better save in the first half, but I had to get one and when I saved this, I was uncertain to see the great save again.

Alondra Ubaldo the saint- the goal post is her friend. I apologize for not getting her great 1st half save.

end of match- great battle

 After the Match

I never saw either from the two team before. Both seem by the first five minutes to be collectively fitter than Pumas, not every individual, but collectively.  Circa 6th minute, I saw the possession switch between these two teams seven times in one phase of play, both of these teams have to learn control. The genius of iniesta/xavi is not that they passed alot but they tended, side busquets, to make passes that served a function. Either midfield must learn how to collectively control through possession, especially thinking long term to mexican success. Circa 11th minute, that is a var-able handball. I realize the womens league in mexico is not going to get financing for video assistance refereeing with the crowds they have, but it is a point. Karla Saavedra from Toluca is dangerous. The header was based on strength but later, circa 29th minute, i noticed the toluca goalkeeper, she is too short. she seems shorter than some defenders. I imagine she is quick but on set pieces, she is exploited. Circa 30th lovely pass into the run from Karime Abud to Kenya Téllez, the key to a pass to get a runner behind the offside trap isn't speed, it is timing and placement. Some of the passes from Toluca in the first half are brilliant in their execution, lovely timing and comprehension in the attack. Claudia Rios made the pass of the game, but the toluca player in the forward role, didn't control and strike well enough. Circa 35th minute Toluca tried a set piece from distance, they seem to me, a quick restart team. Set pieces are a waste of time for them, most of their players are great with the ball on the ground but too weak in the air. The toluca keeper dropped the ball a second time by the 39th minute, absent pressure. She must get stronger hands. Barrientos knows she can bully the Toluca backline; Toluca have to defend through possession better. Tania Morales from chivas tested Alondra Ubaldo excellently, I hope it arrives in the highlights later. The keeper proved why she is in the sticks. Lovely strength in the air. My one regret is not getting Alondra Ubaldo save in the first half. To be fair, Toluca came out the dressing room unsharp, especially defensively. By the 52nd minute, Toluca have not gotten into the game physically. Guadalajara is first to every ball. The toluca coach was given a red but he didn't leave the stadium, he went into the stands. By the 65th minute, a Toluca defender is struggling after Barrientos battled through two defenders and almost a third for a strike on goal. Toluca's coach needs to stay but this particular team, the players they have, must implement an extreme form of defense through possession. It cannot be general. Toluca need to reach over ninety percent a game to be top of the table. Circa 69th minute Silvia López the tallest or biggest player Toluca have was substituted for Ingrid Hidalgo, another short player. It was a hard game for Lopez and I imagine this is not the first. She is the muscle, the lone enforcer in the team but Guadalajara and I imagine others will force her to be substituted many times. Miriam Zarate got cramps in the heat, it seems, she has not been as active as others in chivas, who are focusing on the aerial game, and she is one of the shortest players out there. Guadalajara ended the match with two substitutions

Tigres vs Club Tijuana   Futbol Mexicano Femenino Primera

Before the match

This if fourth versus sixth and like toluca versus guadalajara, neither have a fate decided upon today but do not want to wait late to make a push for the title, which can still be grabbed from monterrey or pachuca

Tigres second goal- the second goal was a header after a mistake from the tijuana keeper. The first goal was a golazo. Tijuana's keeper was shaky in various times, needs to get tougher shoulders.

end of match

 After the Match

I had to catch this match in the second half. Tigress did score from outside the box and after a mistake from the tijuana keeper but like Toluca facing Guadalajara, Tigress seem to be a more athletic team while Tijuana seem to be a more skills team. As someone who watched OL in the beginning of the Aulas project to today, the skill teams may lose out now but if they stick to the program they will excel. Having watched womens soccer in Mexico, a three-year project, I am already convinced it is better than the NWSL in the usa ever was and is, at this current moment. I enjoyed these matches and I will continue... I remember, as a kid, i never watched mexican mens soccer. Not from bias but from exposure. People forget how non english speaking television for many years was never advertised though accessible in anglo media in the usa. The reasons were based on the power of the nfl and the usa media conglomerate, that do not want popularity to any non usa elements in the usa.

Rabeeta Farooque asked a question :

I just...don't understand this mentality issue that Lyon have. We now have two successive coaches who say the same thing, and players over three seasons also claiming the same.

What could cause so many talented players to be so disconnected so frequently?

Asking seriously.

The following is my reply

The reasons are many.  No reason is above another but I have a series: definition to success, winning reality, winning possibility, financial reality in the club/financial reality in the league, club goals.

Definition to success- what is success? are you a successful player cause you are playing or are you a successful player when you are a member to a certain team or financial bracket? OL's squad is full of journeyman or former youth players whose definition to success is varied. You can argue, OL feminin are similar, and that is true. OL feminin have many former youth players or journeywomen players. But, the winning reality or possibility in OL femenin offsets any individual definition to success in the squad. When players see success varying, the variance is emitted on the pitch.

Winning reality- The reality is , lifting trophies in france consistently over modern PSG is going to take more money than aulas wants to give. PSG have tons of talented players, no shame in admitting it. OL do not have a talisman, do not have a huge goal getter,  do not have a captain in the back,  compared to what PSG paid for. yes, barcelona got lucky and had a magical youth team that was able to come in literally in a two season span. but, that is a lucky thing that rarely happens. The winning reality in OL masculin is that PSG are advantaged against us in all the competitions in france. The winning reality in OL feminin is the opposite. They have the best squad in france and the best squad in UEFA. The winning reality is they should win.  When players feel the effect of the winning reality varying, it is emitted on the pitch.

Winning possibility- ANything is possible. But the problem is individually accepting that is not a straight line. Can OL masculin win ligue1/coupe de france/coupe de ligue/uefa cl? yes. Is the chances high? no. Are individual players having issues overcoming the possibility with belief? yes. But the parallel is in OL femeninin. ANything is possible, just like in the men. But, OL femenin are making history, so the possibility is high to win.  When players feel the effect of the winning possibility varying, it is emitted on the pitch.

Financial reality of the club- OL do not have the money of PSG. AUlas is not that wealthy. Now Aulas is spending top money for OL femenin. BUT, like in OL masculin, a day will come when aulas, like berlesconi in ac milan, is at a financial limit and the club wil lhave to find new owners to invest more or be under the investment line, not top of it. OL masculin when aulas was near the top or the top in france had the money to overcome others, now OL do not have the money to overcome PSG's investment, a day will come with OL femenin do not have the money to overcome PSG femenin. I see this in my atletico madrid women. atletico madrid women won the last three domestic titles in spain. BArca women brought in oshoala and are now doing what PSG femenin have not been able to do to OL femenin in france, but they have the money to do it. The financial reality of OL masculin in the modern PSG era has put the club under pressure to have a better system. Spanish teams have existed with real/barca for near 100 years, PSG modernity started about ten season ago, it will take time for french clubs to adjust to what the financial reality means in terms of their planning. Players in teams trying to find a way to overcome a fiscal deficiency will display the lack of working plan on the pitch.

Financial reality of the league- France has salary or labor rules/laws that make financial actions sometimes more stringement. That add pressure on teams to figure out a way to compete. Look at atletico madrid. Atletico has been the only true consistent competitor against real or barca in spain, but a blend of their youth development, hiring choices, simeone as coach all came together whether by accident or plan and they have kept up with it. but, if their planning goes awry , do they have the finances to cover their planning dysfunction? no. The financial environment in france, adds to the financial reality of clubs in a negative way. But that is not a problem it only makes the challenge higher, but overcoming that challenge will take longer for every club in france. Look at monaco, they thought a system of buying top youth and selling could work. it got them to a ligue1 title... but then the youth bought finally didn't click and the financial reality in the club or france hindered moreso, nearly leading to relegation. Players know when their team is part of the best of the rest and all players in france outside of psg in the mens game feel that. If a club has no plans then , it exacerbate that negative energy from the players and it is emitted on the pitch.

The last is club goals- The goal of the club can not undo the fiscal or the winning but can make the choices better. OL masculin's problem is we have a youth development system we don't fully believe in. We get low level mercenaries like depay to offset the quality in play the youth players do not have. Aouar and fekir leave while depay stays. The keeper stays at a higher contract but it seems like a drain on the team. The new sporting director is from brazil. Many brazilian clubs like my santos know all about being a developing club. play mostly your youth, hire some mercenaries. The difference is that, like france in the past, brasil is stil a league of development. Flamengo/Corinthians are not galacticos or cashicos, so the league is even keeled. This is why the model by juninho over time will make OL the best of the rest solidly, but it will take circa five seasons to be regular, this is in year one. The players now are modulating players from the old system to the new. It will take time.

Conclusion- Aulas realizes the men's team is in a negative cycle. He wants someone who comes from a heavily experienced place when it comes to being a top development team. Juninho will need time and considering aulas, the  moves are part of a plan.  It will be rough sailing for maybe two seasons, but by the third things will click. Patience is a virtue, where dissOLution will turn into gOLd .

Atletico MAdrid vs MAllorca Spanish La Liga #atleti #mallorca #laliga

Before the match

This is a much-needed win. Atleti have not scored from our chances. I am hoping to see Costa/Morata/Felix on the pitch at the same time.

Diego Costa goal- the needle, the aguja, he used his strength to reach the ball.

VAR take away Felix penalty- the mallorca defender had his elbow raised. I remember learning in high school keep your arms down and put your head in the way. Maybe a concussion or a broke now, but you will be alright.

M Reina save-Felix used a lovely touch, to essentially make a curve ball effect.  But the keeper on one foot, showed great stomach and leg strength to make the stretch.

Joao Felix - It was a deflection but it goes back to what makes felix special, he like the pele's maradona's neymar's ronaldhino's requelme's make their own luck

After the match

Felix did not start under Costa/Morata as I hoped. But, MAllorca's battling midfield explain why Simeone was wise to bring in true midfielders into the midfield group. Atleti battled but showed a sharpness or luck a little absent in prior matches. Circa 74th minute Morata grabbed the neck of a mallorca player and received another yellow. Two yellow make a red. To be fair, a forward on a simeone team battling costa for a role, is bound to have cards. But Felix was alone up top with Costa benched and Morata in the showers, neither injured. It is rough but Morata will learn from this. Felix was taken out circa 82:12. The three players in the main attacking set, costa/morata/felix were not on the pitch. But the two-goal lead, meant the counterattack is the strategy and Correa side the versatility in many atleti players is suitable for that role. … nice clean sheet for oblak. onto the weekend.

Independiente Del Valle vs SC Corinthians #copasudamericana #timao #independiente

Before the match

Independiente did all the real work in brazil. Timao never showed the energy needed at home. Could timao replicate that energy.

J Pinos Independiente del Valle save

M Boselli goal - Vagner love made the great assist

Cassio SC Corinthians save

Vagner Love attempt- the whole run was the best; this is only the second half of it. Vagner was magnificent in this match.

jhon jaro sanchez enriquez goal- timao was pushing and the counter was always on. Lovely pass and slot wide.

clayson henrique da silva viera penalty score

alejandro cabeza goal- this ended the tie, Timao was even more hurried and they were open to the counter.

After the match

Timao fought harder high above sea level than they did in brazil. But, the counter was always on and late in the match, Independiente exposed a timao trying to score more than they can.

Atletico #Mineiro Vs #Colon #CopaSudamericana

Before the match

The last match made me a believer in Colon though it should be tight in Mineiro.

first round highlights

franco di santo goal- the galo were knocking on the door constantly, Colon seemed unbalanced. HAving the second leg in brasil makes the difference.

Yimmi Chara- the run from him side J Cazares, outran Colon. CAzares side Chara remind me to willian/ngolo kante. Magical short , fast players. I hope chara or cazares never go to the english premier league though. Love either in italian serie a.

 After the match

In the end, Corinthians side Atletico Mineiro didn't play strong enough against Independiente or Colon, over two legs. They had the ability but the late season form in brasil serie a , prove both mineiro side corinthians were suffering facing two fronts. Mineiro had five straight losses and Corinthians earned 8 points over five games, equating to a draw each game. So, neither team looked strong handling double duty, and it caught up to both.

Weekend 9/28/2019 #RMWEekend

Chelsea vs Brighton Hove Albion in England

People say Willian need to score better but Willian's ground play was the best on the pitch. For the number 10 on a team that is the first and foremost. Tammy Abraham had a few chances but he slipped up twice, he needs to work on his center of gravity on the turns. I comprehend he is tall but he has to work on it. Jorginho/Barkley/Mount at times have issues in midfield. Jorginho is a nice passer but his recovery and speed of passing gets slower especially at the end of a half. Mount is not as composed in his own half as the opposing half. Barkley holds on the ball too long for the modern chelsea, that in attack, are looking for one touch. …  I enjoyed Chelsea's play; the best goal scoring chance was in the 40th minute. Cross from Jorginho or barkley to MArcus ALonso. He needed to place it low and he placed it to the sky. … Some will say, look at the goal attempts, but most of the attempts were not far enough from the keeper. IT is better to challenge then blast it, but the strikes need to be a little farther away from the keeper.  … At the half, I repeat to what I said when the season began. The current chelsea squad is a great team, absent a huge goal getter, who play a midfield game. So every match is a battle, every match is close. … The constant of team defense from Chelsea all season I like alot. circa the 70th minute Brighton pressured or attacked more and the team's lack of a clean sheet all season showed itself.

Jorginho penalty- it was earned by a mistake from Brighton. The issue I have to them is , they let Chris Houghton go. why? This season proved Brighton are not the smooth attacking team the new coach is trying to make them into. If they get relegated, it will be all down to Chris Houghton being fired.

Willian goal- good play overall today. He did a lot of recovery work, high speed passing percentage completion. Lead by example, the 10 by example. Kill a Lion

truth about why pulisic is out

 PSG vs Bordeaux in France

Too often Neymar is in midfield deep for PSG, that is what got him injured twice. PSG never have the right midfield setup, when is tuschel going to realize neymar wants it faster and needs to be in a midfield zone with more attackers ahead of him.

Between the 30th and 35th minute the miscommunication in PSG is telling. Verratti cannot be in midfield. PSG was saved a penalty but PSG again, win through a goal from neymar, that is a problem in strategy. Three of neymar's three goals were game winners, that is a problem. Tuschel's system is not correct.

NEymar’s goal- the assist was from mbappe, so that is an excellent sign. In the end, the media made the reports about their schism or dislike toward each more than existed.

Neymar and Mbappe the video

Atletico MAdrid vs Real MAdrid in Spain

with Atletic Bilbao dropping more points. The Madrid derby became a bigger match in the table race. Neither team will want to lose points with Barcelona gaining three, but neither team want to lose points with bilbao dropping points, whomever wins will win big, whomever losses, will lose big. Morata must be hurting getting card accumulation before this match. … Thomas partay has been brilliant, like willian for chelsea, he has not scored by the 31st minute, but his passing, midfield play is stellar. … again, partay's passing clinic september twenty eighth two thousand and nineteen. … Great match, enjoyed the whole game. Atleti had chances, saved chances, got some luck. Good game.

Oblak save- BEnzema positioned himself well and placed the header, but Oblak danced in a hover

Midweek 10/1/2019 10/2/2019 #UEFACL #CopaLibertadores

Real Madrid vs CLub Brugge- the second half change, Areola on for Courtois and then the great marelo in wide back was telling from zidane. Areola is better at mobility than Courtois, plain or simple. For belgium, courtois had a defender like vincent kompany and midfielders like nainngolan or fellaini.
to be fair, the club brugge captain made a dangerous tackle on viniciusjr, viniciusjr to his credit didn't make a big deal of it, but it could had been devastating for the young player
Mignolet save https://www.weibo.com/tv/v/I9y1rrClb?fid=1034:4422757115710326
Kroos attempt- he had one after, if on target, the score would had been by halftime 2-2
Emmanuel Bonaventure 2 - purely on fire, but the second was a real madrid mistake from Modric.
Sergio Ramos goal - the angle originally shown makes ramos offside, but people have to remember the lens are curved and distort angles. the flatter overhead shows he is onside. , but the real key is marcelo, he came on and the modulation from defense to attack, the craft, rose by heights, he truly is a galacticos. I will love to see marcelo post real madrid in the inter miami project.
Casemiro goal- a player hated when he came in, but a true winner. THe reality is hazard is the player at chelsea. HAzard was never a big enough goal getter, but he has been brought in that role. Vinicius jr/hazard/rodrygo are all the same sort of player, that attacking midfielder that isn't a high goal getter.

Bayern Munich vs Tottenham Hotspurs
Kimmich goal- lovely placement side power. The spurs goal was from a mistake. the first bayern goal was from class.
Lewandowski goal- it was from chaos in the box. But lewandowski is the biggest man in the pitch.
Gnabry 1- he just burned tottenham on the flanks, ala robbery of yore, and tore a new intestinal tract into the north londerners
Gnabry 2- repeat part 1 but it began with an error. Bayern is not the bigges team, but they are one of the quickest
Gnabry 3- Aurier tried to play offside in the tottenham half, Gnabry again bruned tottenham on that flank
Lewandowski and Gnabry 4- Coutinho assiting lewandowski again in that number 10 role and Gnabry enjoying life away from england

River Plate vs Boca Junior- I said River 2 Boca 1 . I love big conmebol nights. All the top teams in conmebol are full of true footballers. Nicolas De La Cruz is the player of the match. The best midfield play from him. But overall, River was a faster team as a collective. MArcelo Gallardo is a great coahc, my favorite Conmebol coach. The Olympique Lyonnais or inter miami's of the world need to get him
Rafael santos borre goal- it looked a penalty originally, but the experienced referee let the game play then video assisted referees pulled it back
Ignacio Fernandez goal- the first touch passing, but honest movement on the pitch. THis isn't forced, the team is moving together in varying postures, not the forced play from the guardiola/barca way.

FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan
I said it before, Inter Milan has a history of upsetting the barcelona media machine. Conte like Mourinho from yore, has a proper footballing side. Inter Milan kept cutting FC Barcelona a new anus. The pundit said inter milan is out barcaing barca, no inter milan is playing futebol
Martinez goal - FC BArcelona have to defend through possession at a high level, meaning above 95%
Ter Stegen save- lovely dive, the header was placed well, Ter Stegen proves, barclona's defensive setup is not good enough, it rely to much on the keeper.
Suarez goal- a golazo, truly zidanelike
Luis Suarez 2- a golazo, started by Messi in midfield

Chelsea vs Lille
I just want to say, The player the fans hate Willian scored the winner, just saying

Ol vs Leipzig
OL defeated leipzig and earned a clean sheet. When some OL fans , in offside beat suggested a coaching change

My thoughts on leon offside episode 10
This is the beginning of the sylvinho era under the juninho management. We must have patience. Aulas is a planning man, he is not one to give the reigns absent someone who has a plan. LEt us give the plan time to mature. OL are seven points behind the best of the rest leader Angers. The season is long, angers/nantes/lille/om/ognice/bordeaux/rennes/reims/montpellier will drop points. let us take it easy. Last season Atletic bilbao in spain were fighting against relegation, look how high they are on the table now. you have to let a plan play out. Sylvinho or juninho leaving now, will be totally disruptive. We have to give them the season.
... Someone shared a video, that said senior players run the locker room. the problem in OL is we don't have many leaders in the mens team, in parallel, the womens team is full of leaders, has leaders on the bench.
You guys point on sylvinho focusing on defense is parallel to mourinho pushing pogba to give more energy defensively. SYlvinho is asking these attacking players to defend with as much vigor as they attack, it is tiring, but it is possible, look at atletio madrid. Players have to rise to the challenge. OL do need to be better defensively.
Not for me, give sylvinho the whole season. It is time to push industriousness into OL, we are a youth team. We develop and sell youth. We need to get the culture to change. COnmebol teams players are ready to defend as a team and attack in brilliance. Let the conmebol way come into Lyon. Look at Santos/Flamengo/ many conmebol teams culture have that defense first, attack sharply, fight for 90 minutes.
excellent point Arianna, if you can't give time to a coach, then what coach wants to waste their time. We are one, yes, juninho will burn every bridge as a sporting director, juninho in choosing sylvinho and backing him means both have to go if one go, but aulas said he wanted juninho as the sporting director, so if sylvinho/juninho/aulas can not all be fired based on each giving the later the blessing. I agree OL will work it out, prove it to the players that this team works on a project. ... the problem with the two other pundits is neither gave a name, name names to replace sylvinho. ... a name was mentioned, mourinho? aulas is not willing to spend the money mourinho want, second mourinho will want to replace all these lackluster in defense players. Mourinho had a young team in porto when he won the uefa champions league, but he had a few senior team leaders and some world class young players on that team. OL mens do not have that kind of squad.

FLamengo vs Gremio
People like Ray Hudson say that this is the new modern football, but I disagree. LEagues are not forced to use goal line technology or video assisted refereeing. Just cause western UEFA side the USA champion it does not mean any other league had to follow, they chose to. If I ever control a league I will deny the use to both tools, cause they are not needed. IT is well known over 90% of the calls in futebol pre goal line technology or video assisted refereeing were correct. So neither technology was about getting calls right, but reaching a
@gabamado the problem in #VAR is encapsulated in FLamengo Gremio leg 1, if flamengo lose the tie, pundits will go on about the modern game, but that is a lie. this is about how a flawed system is interpreted based on human interpretation in a video room on top of human interpretation on the pitch. why can't pundits accept human error on goals when they accept human error everywhere else on the pitch?
VAR take Flamengo 1 from Everton Ribeiro - the gremio player clearly flopped, the problem with a system designed to follow the rules strictly is the actions of players are being deceptive, thus must be taken into account, but when a system says the rulebook is the beginning moddle or end, then it is a foul, but it is clearly acting by a gremio player. And to be honest, VAR can not allow for referee interpretation cause it loses all functionality. you don't need var to get referee interpretation.
VAR take Flamengo 2 from Gabriel Barbossa-
Bruno Henrique Goal - VAr may interpret ribeiro or barbossa false but var is not denying Henrique!
VAR take Flamengo 3 from Gabriel Barbossa
Pepe goal - Flamengo were denied three goals, two in the first half lifted up Gremio.VAR is not a neutral system and that is the problem. Aiding one side that is playing poorly is unfair naturally. Beyond the fact that human choices , no matter how many video screens are available are human choices, no other than the ones being made on the pitch, the augmentation to success is extremely negative to the team that scores and this match proved it.
in amendment

real madrid vs granada in spain- this real madrid doesn't have a super goal getter so the team has to score goals together to raise the goal tally on a day. In Courtois real madrid don't have a keeper that reacts fast enough, in areola, they don't have a keeper assured in his motions enough, as psg knew. Navas was better in both categories than either. So Real madrid don't have a spear point player or a dominant keeper for their galavanting style.
eden hazard's first goal for real madrid
Luka Modric goal - placement side power, lovely strike, a true nochancer
Duarte goal- this made it 3-2 for Granada
james rodriguez goal - the spanish wide players run is the work, james is the finish, but it concluded the game and proved my point about real madrid offensively

PSG vs Angers in France- Angers like Granada are looking to stay up, not challenge psg for the title. The angers coach said it best, i paraphrase a translation, defeating psg is not merely a step up but a staircase. Navas clean sheet, neymar score and is the talisman. great team balance in the squad even allowing the tinkering from tuschel, which ranieri would be accussed of negatively. Administratively, the onyl question is, why did it take years for psg to replace blaise matuidi?
Icardi goal- Neymar made it all setting it up, people forget, neymar isn't just a scorer he is a huge assister.
Gueye goal- he is the player replacement since matuidi left that psg needed most, he allows neymar to not need to play deep as much as he retrieves the ball, verratti to risk the defense in wide cause he is in the middle
Neymar goal- he worked hard for it, the game was over, but he finally got it

Galatasaray vs GenClerbirli in Turkey
A goalless game, Galatapalace sold their two top goal scorers in the summer and have no replacement. Luckily the season in turkey is long.

weekend 10/6/2019

Chelsea vs Southampton in england- the first half set the table, willian set up the second goal, kante made the third, game was over.Chelsea currently sit fifth in the table. Considering the situation at Tottenham/Manchester United/Everton this is a great position. Chelsea have not made any transfers, have played their youth, have a first time coach in the epl. The lampard chelsea is at its best when a team, no more or no less.
1st half highlights

Atletico Madrid Vs Valladolid in Spain- Atleti players were fouled a lot in this match in attacking postures. FElix was played outwide in this match, not under costa/morata. And his game didn't thrive. But, Simeone is rotating and shuffling trying to keep players fresh and ready. the journey to and from russia was bound to have a lagging section, unfortunately vallodolid was it.

Barcelona vs Sevilla- after Dembele's goal I quit on Sevilla getting the win or draw I wanted.
Luis Suarez goal - game after game luis suarez is hittign golazo's, truly showing he is a top keeper but this is a sign to the club to use his quality to usher in the future now, before fate in any way, makes it a harder taks
Arturo Vidal goal- Busquets is a great midfielder but the current setup requires a more athletic presence in that role, like paulinho did.
Dembele goal- lovely class, griezzman has to find a place on the bench if dembele continues this quality form.

#LeBron or #KingJames is correct on #Morey , I will tell you why
The article linked below is a source to what is wrong with sport media aside what is wrong with media in general.
The author of this post ladens the entire post with a negative preposition toward the people's republic of china or lebron james while a positive preposition on the special administrative division in the people's republic of china known as hong kong or Daryl Morey.
The following is Lebron James Quote:
"When you’re misinformed or you’re not educated about something, and I’m just talking about the tweet itself, you never know the ramifications that can happen ... Yes, we all do have freedom of speech. But at times, there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you’re not thinking about others and you’re only thinking about yourself. I don’t want to get into a feud with Daryl Morey, but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand and he spoke. ...So many people could have been harmed — not only financially, but physically, emotionally, spiritually. Just be careful about what we tweet, what we say and what we do. Yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too. ... I think when we talk about the political side, I think it’s a very delicate situation. Very sensitive situation ... For me personally, if any of you guys know me or always cover me, you guys know when I speak about something, I speak about something I’m very knowledgeable about"
What from Lebron's quote is false. Morey is not from hong kong or china. He is not chinese, and Morey's quote suggested misinformation or miseducation. Cause morey went to the massachusetts Institute of technolgoy does not bar him from being ignorant or biased.  And Lebron is correct, the usa based basketball players  playing in china while such a message was being conveyed were placed in danger. If a ball player would had been hurt, Morey was to blame. And Morey's tweet was not for the betterment of anyone but Morey himself.
Morey's original tweet is the following: "Fight for Freedom. Stand for Hong Kong"
First, let us focus on the first part of his quote. Fight for freedom. Hong Kong is not an independent country. Hong Kong is part of China, in the same way native american reservations are a part of the united states of america. He then reaffirms the faux independence of hong kong , as stand for hong kong. Can people outside the usa stand for the district of columbia or the Cattaraugus Reservation in new york state? No, cause each of these places is a part of the united states of america , and while the overwhemling majority history from the native american in the usa or the greater american continent is from the european colonial era to now  negative, none will deem their plight one that warrant an external call to freedom. Lebron said Morey spoke ignorantly as well as foolishly, and he endangered others. Lebron is correct. Moreover, Lebron stated these issues are delicate. And, again lebron is correct. Lebron didn't opine on chinese affairs, which is what the entire scenario in Hong Kong is, a chinese affair. Morey did. Lebron opined on Morey opining on CHinese affairs. And Lebron is correct, Morey was negative in every way for doing it. In parallel, the author to the article linked below was negative for speaking false to lebron's words and speaking positive to that of morey. The last crime from the article author was the use of Enes Kanter's words to falsely support his position. First, Enes Kanter's situation is in no way connected to the people of hong kong. The people of hong kong are chinese citizens living in china who have an issue with their government. Enes kanter, born in switzerland, raised in turkey, living in the usa , has been vocally critical to the turkish government from a distance. The people of hong kong are not supporting an overthrow of the chinese government, which Kanter suggested happen in turkey. LAstly, Kanter's vocalization, against Turkey while living in the usa, placed his family in danger. Kanter's choice to do what Morey did, led to the result LEbron warned of in  Lebron's statement. The article author by using Kanter supported Lebron's point.
Hong Kong is a part of china, a part of china that was never an independent state or free. Hong Kong was a part of the british empire that china reclaimed, under no supervision. I restate, china had no obligation to do anything when they reclaimed Hong Kong. The people's republic of CHina chose to make Hong Kong a special administrative division and allow Hong Kong's legal system to differentiate between the remainder of China. This was an allowance given to Hong Kong by China, and no one else. China itself allowed Hong Kong the freedom they have now, not britain, not the usa. Hong Kong's leadership did not use the time given to them, from being a major source of china's economy <near 25%> to currently being circa five percent or less, to change the role or purpose of hong kong fitting where china is now. And, the legal scenario that prompted this tide. When a chinese man married a woman in hong kong, murdered her in taiwan, and then used the extradition laws in hong kong to slip away from the people's republic of china's jurisdiction. Hong Kong made this problem for Hong Kong. This has nothing to do with freedom or oppression or international ways.

First Amendment
Ocasio Cortez side Ted Cruz found unity between the elephant and donkey concerning this china issue.
This proves how many monied interests are involved in the usa involvement in the media position to the  scenario in china between the special administrative division known commonly as hong kong and the people's republic of china. A special administrative zone is like washington d.c. in the usa.
Why are all these parties able to come together against china, considering the only people it will hurt are ball players in china from the usa.
thoughts anyone, sometimes sports issues go into the realm of government, ala kapaernick, but unlike kapaernick why such union, and this latino blend of cruz and cortez... again thoughts?

Second Amendment
A chinese man from hong kong stated, through unconfirmed translation that I paraphrase, that he thinks lebron is no longer great but good and that a difference exist between a great basketball star and a hero.
First, assessment to lebron as a basketball player can be statistical or philosophical. the philosophical is up to each person, the statistical shows itself he is one of the greatest in this era. As for lebron being a hero. no basketball player is a hero but every athlete can speak truth. Morey wasn't a hero for his tweet, he was an interferer from a distance. Lebron wasn't a hero for his comment but he was more than a basketball player, lebron was an honest man, maybe that chinese basketball fan from hong kong can learn from lebron and be honest about hong kong going forward.

#Tigres vs #Necaxa #LigaMXFemenil

Before the Match
Tigres is third in the table, five points behind the leader. Necaxa is the bottom of the table. By table results I expect a blowout.

Introducing the match

Trevino save 1- the strike was straight to her from the Tigres player but, it was close range and her hands are not the hardest.

Trevino save 2- this was the save of the game when i saw it, used a foot to knock it away.
Lizbeth Ovalle try - great attempt,on target, good power, the Necaxa defender saved it <apologize for not catching the number> not the necaxa keeper

Lizbeth Ovalle goal - the cross was the key. It forced the Necaxa defenders to handle the situation and they did not. The situation or cross was not beyond the necaxa defenders control, but they did not control it. Ovalle was right place right time, if necaxa defenders made a mistake, and the defenders did.

Trevino save 3- nice save, the strike was to the near post, but it came fast, and the keeper couldn't move quickly or give away the far post.

Belén Cruz goal- goals from crossing situations, and a Necaxa setup that has not yet figured how to handle it. To be honest, necaxa seem a little down on themselves too as losing can drain you of focus.

Trevino save 4- the header from the tigres player was excellently placed, but Trevino showed a great balance of perception side athleticism in this save.

Natalia Gómez Junco goal- no one followed her, she made a late run, all the goals necaxa let in were from crosses mishandled, to be fair, the coach to necaxa, a woman, is in a minor project and has to overcome players who probably haven't been given the best environment to grow, so I hope she can keep her job and grow this project

María Fernanda Elizondo goal- Trevino saved the strike but didn't hold it and the ball fell to Elizondo.

Trevino save 5- a penalty earned from a rough tackle by Andrea Villalobos. Captain Liliana Mercado took it but it was read well by Trevino.

Post-Match thoughts

Necaxa allowed a free header from the first set piece Tigres had. Tigres did not utilize clear chances in front of the Necaxa goal. The Necaxa goalkeeper was under pressure instantly. If anything, the lack of shaprness of focus on the part of tigres was the worst sign from tigres. Champions murder ruthlessly.  In the 16th minute Necaxa could had shocked Tigres but they failed to. … Trevino is getting great experience as a keeper on Necaxa. It is not easy to be on a team in midst of a losing streak, the worst in the league. But, good learning, I hope the Necaxa players in general can survive this season.  … Tigres hammered Necaza in the score line but Necaxa had a few chances themselves to score and be dangerous. I think necaxa need a new season to reboot the points, but if they keep working on the defensive setup it will come eventually, Necaxa must keep their squad together and fight on. Tigres, were very sloppy in this match and prove why they are not top of the table. In winning sometimes teams expose why they don't win above all others. In losing, some teams show, they are working on being better but need more time.

Congratulations JVW girls for winning the Gauteng Sasol League 2019

Most popular womens clubs- how is OL feminin not number 1?  Manchester united don't even have a team but are number1? this proves why monied interest focus on big names, how is OL not number 1?

Club by club review of the copa libertadores femenino
Group A: Atlético Huila (COL), Cerro Porteño (PAR), Colo-Colo (CHI) and Peñarol (URU)
Group B: Dep. Cuenca (ECU), Estudiantes (VEN), Ferroviária (BRA), Mundo Futuro (BOL)
Group C: América de Cali (COL), Corinthians (BRA), Libertad/Limpeño (PAR), Ñañas (ECU)
Group D: Independiente Medellín (COL), Municipalidad de Majes (PER), Santiago Morning (CHI), UAI Urquiza (ARG)
The Women’s Libertadores 2019 kicks off this Friday with Colombian giants Atlético Huila aiming to retain the crown they won in Brazil 12 months ago.
The 11th edition of the competition takes place at high altitude in Quito, Ecuador, despite the political chaos ensuing in the city.
For the first time, the number of teams allowed to participate has been increased to 16, divided into four groups. Teams in groups A and C will play their games in the stadium Olímpico Atahualpa, whereas teams in B and D will play in Casablanca stadium.
A record prize of US$85,000 will be awarded to the champions; an increase of $30,000 on last year.
In the previous ten editions of Copa Libertadores, Brazilian teams have won on seven occasions. São José are the most successful team with three titles, followed by Santos with two. Corinthians and Ferroviária, both participants of this edition, have won one title each. Outside Brazil, Colo-Colo (CHI), Sportivo Limpeño (PAR), who this year have partnered with Club Libertad, and Atlético Huila (COL) have all lifted the trophy on one occasion each.

GlobOL - As someone who has found the joy of watching mexican womens soccer, I think Aulas is making a financial error. Liga MX Femenino will become a better league than NWSL in terms of play sooner rather than later and with the weak latin american stance on womens soccer, poised to make big dollars in the latin american market. I agree to Rabeeta <offsidebeet> that Aulas spends more money on womens soccer than any other club but He needs to be careful where he spends money on the ol feminine extension in the american continent. USA is a short term rise but mexico is a long term diamond.
Add to the fact the rising anti statian position throughout the usa in public. I think aulas need to make the new team in canada or mexico.
LAstly, a team in mexico will allow Aulas the chance to organize along the same lines as ol in france.
Aulas to buy an existing NWSL franchise , even though it will be very difficult.

Venting in the USA

My comment on a post where Phil schoen ask all to vent about the usmnt
Mr Schoen, I do not know if the following is a vent, and it definitely will not be comprehensive as your vent. But, I remember being a teenager who played soccer every day and had no local club, no league no anything. Streetball and a disconnected secondary school team. Then fifa said the usa will have a league. In my head i thought wow! I thought NYC was going to be full of teams. So many communities, so many people who love the game. In my head I saw something closer to the brasilian set up than the nfl. Then reality hit, the ussoccer organization i did not comprehend or know aside the nfl influence i didn't realize was involved, and MLS was born. In the end of the day, ussoccer allowed the creation of MLS and then both parties went about a plan that was never going to be as good as possible. The problem is the financial potency of the parties behind ussoccer/mls aside the administrative hindrances in ussoccer/mls mean the only way change can occur is if someone has a lot of money to push them or the bureaucracy aside. That is a tall order

Naomi Osaka - I do not know Naomi osaka personally but Naomi Osaka's choice makes sense. First most of her sponsorships come from japan. Second, the current usa environment may feel disenchanting to Naomi. Between japan and haiti, her relationship to the USA from a historical level need not be positive. japan was attacked using nuclear weapons and haiti was interferred with negatively infinite number of times, and to this day. Lastly, the immigrant stance in the usa as compared to japan is the last amount of convincing. JApan is well known to be a place hard on foreigners on outsiders, but japan doesn't make false promises to outsiders or foreigners and they don't condone attacks on immigrants in their country as opposed to the usa, where attacks on immigrants is in most places acceptable, whether from governmental entities or private.

great success for simone biles , she proves what is already known long before her, that a black person has the ability to overcome an unfair environment and succeed. My hope is not that a black girl follows in her footsteps, but that a black girl in the future, gardless of talent, has a more advantageous or promoting environment to grow in as a gymnast.

great stat from @2010MisterChip through @Cynegeticus brazil/mexico/south korea/germany are the powerhouses of conmebol/concacaf/afc/uefa respectively

weekend 10192019

Atletico madrid vs Valencia in Spain - By 24:21 Atleti had four solid chances, the issue is not the chances but the sharpness.  PArtay was taken off and then Morata was taken off, and then Arias missed a sitter, Felix then gets injured <looks like a few weeks>, and then Daniel parejo scores. A rough day, unlucky, but the season is long. Atleti won the season last time at the last day, so Simeone knows to rotate the squad and get them into this project. Pundits will hate or dislike or call coward, bbut Simeone is being wise, long term.
Diego cOsta goal - Atleti had a dominance of chances but did not finish them well.  The valencia player moved his arm to the ball

Daniel PArejo goal- set piece, Felix colliding with him led to the accidental injury

Oblak save- the structure of the save is key, he placed the ball , lovely

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund in germany - my Fohlen started the season slow but the legs have gotten strong and we have found ourselves atop the table. I can not recall the last time Gladbach defeated Dortmund in the battle of the Borussia's this match to me is needed as Bayern had dropped points. Gladbach need this win for me, to have a chance at topping the table at the end of the season  DIE FOHLEN!!

VAR disallow- I admit i would had accepted the goal. The foul call is a save, but it worked in die fohlen's favor. Dortmund eventually got this goal from an assist from hazard to reus.

No foul from Dortmund keeper- the ball is won by Ebola, but the referee say the afters is enough for the keepers favor

Real Madrid vs Mallorca in Spain- Mallorca scored early and while the referee favored real madrid in some fouling situations. Mallorca put on a collective defensive masterclass. The number of individual interceptions was brilliant in this match.

Lago Junior goal -  lovely curler , the point by phil schoen about james rodriguez over gareth bale and the lack of a defensive recovery from rodriguez was smart in this goal.

have you heard of the Military world games?
I hadn't and then I saw a tweet from xinhua news about the current edition being held in china, wuhan to be exact.
The first version was held in 1995 and it repeated every four years with a winter edition added recently. but one of the most interesting things is the trophy count.
Here are the countries ahead of the usa
1     Russia (RUS)    243    174    133    550
2     China (CHN)    178    138    126    442
3     Italy (ITA)    84    82    103    269
4     Brazil (BRA)    81    71    66    218
5     South Korea (KOR)    44    38    46    128
6     Poland (POL)    38    46    50    134
7     France (FRA)    38    33    46    117
8     Germany (GER)    30    56    60    146
9     North Korea (PRK)    30    25    28    83
10     Ukraine (UKR)    29    50    58    137
11     Kenya (KEN)    25    25    23    73

When you look at this list you note a key aspect, all these countries have a large relationship to their military.
Russia through the soviet era, same with china, have a huge modern culture of military service. The usa is mostly enlisted while russia/china while they have many not in the military have a huge culture of military families.
Then you look below, brazil/poland/north korea/ukraine/germany, each was relatively recently a soviet country which meant the military was a huge part of the system as private ownership was disallowed or currently/recently had regimes that enforced a strengthening of their military.
Italy, France, Kenya were never soviet, or had recent regimes that emphasized the military aspect in their country. But, obviosuly, a vigor in france/italy/kenya exist in their military community.

In the winter games the usa is not present, as a trophy earner at all

1     Russia (RUS)    29    16    14    59
2     Italy (ITA)    25    19    18    62
3     France (FRA)    24    21    20    65
4     China (CHN)    6    11    8    25

This is the top four. It proves how large this tournament is. I think this tournament will trump the olympics.

NWSL 2019 SEmifinals

NWSL Semifinal Reign FC vs North Carolina Courage

circa 4:35 MEgan Rapinoe had a one tocuh opportuntiy at goal and she went for control, though her speed on the ball seem slow.
A woman I know, Queenjospeh will say by the 31:20 both teams did a lot of huffing and puffing. I repeat, the quality of soccer in ligamxfemenil is superior to the NWSL now. ... The end of the first half had a nice opportunity, but outside that, the effect of a poor competitive model in the NWSL is telling. The end of ninety minutes was an honest draw, but then something happened, the gas was empty in the seattle tank, reflective of Rapinoe's movements all game. While North carolina seemed to get faster. North Carolina athletically are stronger than any other nwsl team and that was exposed in the extra time 3-0 goal swing by the Courage on the Reign.
I apologize for a tech issue in the crystal dunn  goal not being present.

beginning- opening lineups

Casey Murphy save 1- good push away

Jessica McDonald Attempt- she tried to flick it over, but placed too much energy in it

Lyn Williams Attempt- Jessica McDonald found Lyn Williams but her strike was too hard, the instantaneousness of control and delivery is key

Crsytal Dunn attempt- Lyn Williams with a cut back found Crystal  Dunn but the reing keeper reacted too fast for Dunn to have a nonviolent chance

Crystal Dunn low cross attempt- The low cross was well, I think Lyn Williams got a slight touch but it is hard to cognize, see the video to give yourself a chance to see. McDonald came behind with a late run but was too late to get the ball

Debinha started an attempt- The Brazilian cut in from midfield and found McDonald who held up play and found Lyn Williams aside her but the Reing defender read the play well

Megan Rapinoe attempt- this was brilliant from Rapinoe, still my favorite usa womens national team player, but she currently is able to only do this in spurts until her fitness rises. I do think she need another role to fit on a team, her high speed running days seem behind her or in need of real time to get back.

JEssica McDonald header attempt- she tried to reach it. Jess is pretty tall but not tall enough, and it made the angle hard to to be more parallel to the ball or guide under it

Crystal Dunn attempt off of error- Rapinoe made the error, but her situation was compromised based on her teammates passing in the back

Lyn Williams deflection- ball could had went anywhere but favored the reign keeper

Stephanie Catley earned a penalty

HEather O'Reilly penalty scored

Ifeoma Onumonu scored- great turn on her marker and slip under the keeper

Debinha set piece goal- the goal of the game for me

Kristen Hamilton caused an owngoal- The Reign were hammered all game but they really withered in extratime

NWSL Semifinal Portland Thorns vs Chicago Red Stars

The goal from World cup winner Yuki Nagasato to Goal MAchine Sam Kerr was in the eight minute and the potency those two can bring. After the goal, the Chicago counterattack was on. Portland's stalwart Christine Sincalir, is like Megan Rapinoe, both seem very stiff in the legs, and in need of a lesser role or another role. They are both able to play but sometimes a clubs ambitions require that oft cited blend of youth side experience, that portland or seattle lack.
Congratulations to Chicago Red Star to finally reach a nwsl cup playoof final. Congratulations to Sam Kerr for getting her first playoff goal

Sam Kerr goal- YUki Nagasato is a great creative force, who also can play a physical game. This is Sam Kerr's first playoff goal, so she is on a mission.

Sam Kerr cross- Kerr made a good run and crossed for her teammate, but her teammate was not ready. A good note from Jeen Hildrith side Aly Wagner in the pundit box that not only is Sam Kerr the historic goal leader in NWSL but she is tied for most assist. If Real Madrid are wise they get Sam Kerr to be their first center forward. She is relentless and can perform brilliance.

Haley Raso penetration- lovely short space speed, but the options were not there in time

Nagasato brilliance- she found Kerr but Kerr in space or time was unable to strike it past the keeper into goal, going a little wide.

Congratulations on Chicago Red Stars side North cArolina Courage making the NWSL palyoff finals

Ada hegerberg broke the record for number of goals in the uefacl for a player, but like messi or cr7, they have spent most of their career healthy as the primary offensive player on the top teams. this helps achieve great goal tally heights

congratulations to Francesca Kirby for receiving an honorary doctorate

Gabrielly Louvain plays for Botafogo

uefa champions league 10222019

Atletico madrid vs Bayer Leverkusen
No felix through injury or morata to start with.

Morata goal- Morata cam eon and Lodi crossed to him . As a note Lemar started the play.

Jimenez was forced off early through injury, it wasn't terrible, and it is a test to atleti's depth. Atleti do not have a large goal getter. But between diego costa/alvaro morata/joao felix/lemar/correa Atletico MAdrid have a large load of goals when each players performs their best. Sequentially, the key is always defense first.

Galatasaray vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid must win this match of face exiting the uefa champions league. Galatasaray will have the day of days if we can defeat Real Madrid and win this match.

Toni Kross goal- read the possibility well, galatasaray defended but in the trenches.

Real MAdrid attacked Galatasaray from the opening minute with such energy, it would had startled a lesser team. Galatapalace did well, but were broken through. To be fair, galatapalace had a very good opportunity to score, but the lack of sharpness in scoring is present in today's match for the turkish giants. Muslera was brilliant today and the team played as a team. 1-0 is a true score to how this game played out. Galatasaray had good chances.

copa libertadores 10222019

River plate vs Boca Juniors Copa Libertadores

Jan Hurtado goal- the set piece made it a great opportunity if a Boca player can place the ball back into play, it was and River was caught out.

The key was the first leg. Marcelo Gallardo grows as a coach in this tournament. I think he is very wise to remain at River until a proper opportunity present itself. I think Guangzhou evergrande or inter miami need to be his next stop. Both cause the environment will let him test how he handles being a coach outside his familiar argentina. HE has played in three countries. Argentina/France/USA. I wanted him to be the new coach of Olympique Lyonnais but based on his status, he can only be the next coach of psg, which may not happen if tuchel achieves the tout trophees season. The problem I have to UEFA clubs is non that are quality are available. Bayern is settled as coutinho/lewandowski and company are playing electric soccer. PSG is settled as tuchel seem to get wins even though the squad has various injuries all the time. Juventus just got Sarri and have not hired a non italian coach. Barcelona nor Real MAdrid nor MUFc nor MCFC seem balanced in their administration to have patience a gallardo project.
Boca Juniors huffed and puffed but didn't have the goal killer gene in their boots. Thus Gallardo setting up River to absorb pressure and counter was masterful strategy .

Chelsea vs Ajax fc

michy batshuayi - pulisic was not the key. Pulisic drove to the end line and made a low cross, if anything, it was alonso reading the possibility between the low cross and batshuayi and batshuayi being prepared to score if the ball game to him was key. The pundits on tnt are really poor, their commentation panders to the usa market. if usa fans can accept a poor player, then ussoccer has more problems than not.

Chelsea the team, look good. Willian has earned his ten shirt or spot on the team as in the past, and why Frank Lampard supported him. Pulisic is getting media shouts cause of his national team and the media power in the usa If Pulisic was playing for slovenia nothing would be said of him and he would not had been sold to chelsea. When you look at the players starting for chelsea, pulisic does not warrant over any.Tammy Abraham is the leading goal getter. Mount or Hudson-Odoi are faster and better in the attacking midfield role. Willian is the top goal getter or assist player in the squad. Jorginho is a better passer. Kovacic is a more versatile player. Pulisic does not warrant a start over them. Pulisic is like Coutinho. A player given a lot of praise in media but not in a team where the position he needs is available. Pulisic need to be in a team that need a number 10.
At halftime some fans or pundits suggest woefullness in chelsea, but I oppose that. Tammy Abraham has held the ball up well most times and fought for balls to be won, even with some bad layoffs. Hudson odoi has terrorized the ajax right back even though he missed some strikes on goal. Mount has linked up well even though he hasnt cut through lines enough. Willian has offered width continually and modulated well between sectors, even though he hasn't linked up well so far. Kovacic has broke from midfield well even though he hasn't take a strike from distance. Chelsea have played well. This is the first season under lampard, and the team looks well. YEs, they are not gelled together but this is the first season where this team's blend of experience/youth is together. The fans or pundits judging them harshly are missing the point.
Tammy Abraham nor Willian had a bad game. The synch in the team collectively was off today. But, pulisic side batshuayi when they came in, did not offer improvement, it was a prepared switch. Hudson-Odoi had the worst game in that he never found his sharpness though he had a ton of chances. Pulisic tripped twice in the match, absent any pressure.

Inter Milan vs Borussia Dortmund

Lautaro Martinez- again, Dortmund never convince me they are a big team. It is either the connection to the u.s.a. , getting young usa players, or the german media trying to boost dortmund to manipulate the conversation on the bundesliga. It is misplaced. Dortmund are not a top team in uefa.

sebastian esposito- he telegraphed the placement to the penalty

Candreva- he made a similar run overpowering his marker earlier, this time, his angle was to the goal and he risked not passing but scored brilliantly
