  1. Past hour
  2. It's real. However the question is HOW is it actually built....vs...the rhetoric and propaganda put out to distract and confuse the masses about how wealth is accumulated. For example..... How do we know that most self-made billionaires and multi-millionaires didn't do it as a result of magic or witchcraft?
  3. ProfD IMO, drug usage does not prevent a *normally* developed brain from absorbing and retaining information. This seems to line up with most of my observations as well. Keep in mind though, I'm specifically talking about the ABUSE of drugs or MISUSE of drugs. Not necessarily their proper usage for medical purposes or even "moderate" use of street drugs. Drugs and alcohol will temporarily impair a person's ability to making logical decisions and/or control their physical actions. Which is puzzling as to why they don't usually cause "permanent" or severe impairment with long term use. Broken legs usually heal. However how many people can repeatedly break their legs over and over again without eventually becoming a cripple? Apparently, there is no longer term neurological damage as a result of drug use because lifetime drug users operation just fine when they are not *high*. With most long term hard drug abusers, I can tell a difference in the way they move and interact with people. But still, usually no type of intellectual decline that could be compared to someone with...say....Down Syndrome On a side note...POTUS OJ just signed an executive order making cannabis a schedule 3 drug. I believe that puts the US steps closer to federalizing weed usage. Well.... Being the populist that he is, he just did that to increase his popular support. You have millions of weed heads out there who could give less than a fuck about politics but if they think Trump is going to legalize Marijuana then he's "their man"....lol. I've wondered about this for a long time, even as a kid. How can some people abuse alcohol and drugs yet be smart, popular, and make enough money to get rich. It didn't make a lot of sense to me. Eventually it dawned on me that it actually DID make sense....it was a lie. Perhaps they should start telling children the truth about things like drug and alcohol abuse. Stop saying things like it "fries" or "melts" your brain, when it actually doesn't and most people can clearly see that it doesn't.

  6. I'm sure most of you have grown up seeing those public service announcements and commercials warning you of the dangers of drug use. How dangerous it and what it does to your brain and body. Remember the dude who used to crack open eggs and fry them in skillets talking about "this is your brain on drugs"....lol. I know that much of the drugs out on the streets are harmful and the negative effects and consequences are clearly observable. However one consequence or negative effect doesn't seem to be quite as observable: INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENT. If routine drug abuse supposedly "fries" the brain and ruins it, why aren't most long term drug users retarded or severely intellectually disabled? You know people who've been smoking crack or using heroine for years. You can usually tell by their emotional instability that they're "off" or have some sort of problem, but most of them aren't "stupid" as such. They can hold conversations, be social, hold jobs, scam, cheat, come up with lies. Things the average retarded/intellectually disabled person can't do. There are many musicians, entertainers, actors, and even professionals in the academic world who are addicted and have spent YEARS abusing cocaine and heroin. Why are they still able to think well and perform well and maintain their professions and even families? Retarded and "slow" people can't do that. Most people you knew as slow or intellectually disabled growing up couldn't even reach that level anyway. I'm interested in hearing OPINIONS (because I know most of you aren't medical experts) on why years of rampant drug use by most people doesn't seem to severely damage their intellect.
  7. Millions of people have signed up for military service and law enforcement. Millions of people have been killed in wars. Police officers have been killed in the line of duty. All of this service and enforcement is designed to protect wealthy interests in the grand scheme of things. People are not manipulated into service. They get paid to put lives on the line in defending wealthy interests. It's even called a career.
  8. It is sad actually. 400k southern whites boys willingly have their lives to protect the interests of the wealthy. There is little difference today. they were manipulate then and they are manipulated now.
  9. I recently caught the movie "All Eyez on Me", the biopic of Tupac, on TV. I don't remember this movie getting a lot of hype when it first came out, but I was impressed with it. It was well produced, well scripted, and well acted. The actors who played Tupac and Shug Knight were not only excellent in their portrayals but their resemblance to Pac and Shug was amazing. Same for the minor characters playing real life people like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog. I'm assuming the production company who released this film was black because of the authenticity of it. Anyway, I plan to watch it again because it's running all month long on my TV subscription.
  10. Sure. It would be fine right up until the movie producer hands out pink slips to more than half the production crew. Many of them made their way to the big screen. It is always easy to do *right* ny people. Once established, an actor or actress or athlete or entertainer doesn't have to worry about competition. That's why they're able to command huge salaries.
  11. Political parties be d8mned....that's hilarious. The car still has Kash Kross-eyed Patel and Kristi ICE Barbie Noem for now: These folks are leading major departments within government...FBI and Homeland Security.
  12. @Pioneer1It wasn't about "teaching". It was more about whether the term "jive" is still current. I think it is; it's generational.
  13. Lol...when did you post this???? I don't remember seeing it when I logged off earlier today. ProfD That was not the question though. As an employee, would you be feel the same way. Actually, it depends on my job AS an employee. If I were an actor, maybe....maybe not. However if I were one of the engineers and designers incharge OF doing the AI portion of the film...I'd love it. It is wrong to cheat the younger generation out of similar opportunities using technology. I suppose the same argument could have been made 120 years ago against the movie industry too. I'm sure a lot of actors and actresses in Vaudeville were forced into an early retirement by the up and coming motion picture industry. Like you say so often, people have to learn to adapt. When it comes to business and business decisions, it's not always easy to assign a moral value to them. However, if he had employed someone who looked like him, another Black man would have been able to get paid too. Or....in other movies that he DIDN'T produce/direct...that same look-a-like Black man probably would have taken his spot half the time. Remember, more competition also. You have to look at it from both perspectives.
  14. Some people are like fine wine and get better with age and maturity. MC Lyte is certainly one of them.
  15. Elon Musk has gone his own way. Margerine Turned Green has divorced herself from Trump And now Dan "almost Black" Bongino has announced his almost abrupt departure. Looks like his family is breaking up.....lol.
  16. I know all of that. Well....everything except the Dancing With The Stars "Jive" category....lol. I haven't followed the show in a while. Other than that, you haven't taught me anything. But I bet I can teach YOU something. The word "jive" really came from a play on the word "jibberish". Often times when White folks heard us talk....the slang, style, and cadence....they would refer to it as jibberish. We started calling it JIBE which evolved into JIVE. There you go. No need to thank me....lol.
  17. @umbrarchist?? I have no idea what you're talking about.
  18. @Pioneer1"Jive" is a term that preceded the 1980s and bell bottoms. Its origins date probably as far back as the l940s among swing and big band musicians like Cab Calloway. Jazz musicians probably still toss the term around today. The currently popular TV show "Dancing with the Stars" has a category referred to as "Jive" which is denotes a certain style of dancing. It is a vernaular that really has earned a place in the black slang Hall of Fame, similar to the word "hip". Millenials may not use the term but many are familiar with it.
  19. Tried BlueSky? Enlighten benighted bumpkins in a world going down the drain! I have accumulated 2000 followers while being blocked by 700 geniuses. Economists and Marxists don't like me.

  22. I did a search for "automotive economist". "An automotive economist analyzes the economic factors, trends, and data shaping the global vehicle industry, focusing on sales, production, supply chains (like the shift to EVs), consumer behavior, and market forecasts for manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, and investors" No results found for "automotive economist" "planned obsolescence". Apparently an automotive economist must be out of touch with reality.

  24. As I mentioned in another thread, however people choose to use their time is great as long as it does not bring hurt, harm or danger to other folks. @aka Contrarian...you already know your contribution to the forum is appreciated by yours truly. Whenever that time comes where we can no longer share and enjoy this virtual space...the memories will linger. In the meantime, I look forward to you popping in, hanging out and posting here too.
  25. The mid-terms elections in November 2026 will be a determining factor. Either the MAGA base is still onboard or ready to move in a different direction from the circus of POTUS OJ and his administration. That's almost one year from now and people have short attention spans. I believe POTUS OJ and his administration will continue doing dumb sh8t. Ultimately, putting nails in their own coffins.
  26. Cynique At 90 something years old, people in their 60s or even early 70s would probably be considered "young" to you because it's whole a generation behind....lol The word "jive" went out of circulation in the early 80s.....along with bell bottoms.....lol. Certainly few people under 60 use that word on a regular basis. Now this is interesting....... It's what is called the "Mandela Effect". People of different backgrounds having different memories about the existence or nature of something. Me and a few other people over a certain age clearly remember Jive magazine. We saw it in supermarkets, barbershops, and liquor stores back in the 70s and 80s. But over half of the people of that same age range say they DON'T remember the magazine! Interesting!
