  1. There is a review of The Black Agenda coming. The solution is really simple: we must educate and support our own, before allowing ourselves to be educated by and supporting others. but that is exceedingly difficult. we have been divided and conquered. undoing this will take several more generations… Black people love to proclaim “we are not a monolith,” but that is where our power comes from. What other group with power goes around proclaiming how fragmented they are? Our nation prizes individualism, but while that may work for the individual it can not work for us as a people. Actually it does not work for white folks either, they just benefit as a consequence of being the same “race” as the group in power. Read Claud Anderson too. 2. @Troy is exactly right. The solution is *simple* but exceedingly *difficult* considering how AfroAmericans were colonized. Individual achievement and accomplishment is great. We should all strive to be our very best. However, as a group of people there's strength in numbers especially when it comes to knowledge, security, wealth management, etc. Every other group has ties that bind them whether it's racial, ethnic, cultural, etc. They know their history and close ranks when necessary. Right now, Ukrainians are a good example of it. I don't see or hear any dissent among them as it relates to how they should protect themselves and take care of each other. Even wealthy Ukrainian men are on the battle front. 😎
  3. I appreciate it, too. But I abhor those who dismiss the suffering of Black people and others or jump to the defense of Trump for whatever reasons they prefer to trot out. I was stunned by the hysterical rants from Mzuri who seemed to have it in for Cardi B and anyone else who disagreed. I am aware Cardi B has said some things that raised eyebrows. But people say all sorts of things to garner attention, start a controversy or to make money. Just as GOP's Sen. Ted Cruz did when he attacked newly confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson during a Senate hearing and then checked his phone to see if he was trending on Twitter. (By the way, Tashsa K, the YouTube blogger who constantly lied to malign the Dominican entertainer, faces jail time and a $50,000 fine for refusing a federal judge's order to remove the offending content. This is after all parties mutually agreed to the move. The blogger is still on the hook for $1. 25 million she owes after losing a defamation lawsuit). I don't know if he's still waging war on his "Battlefield of Life," but Nels' nonsensical, anti-Black screeds surprised me on a forum where most tended to celebrated Black Achievement or engaged in thoughtful discussion. But Nels is another who thinks Trump can do no wrong. Black People can practically accomplish anything if given a chance, the same resources and opportunities Whites have. So, I'm not surprised many on here both think Trump and Republicans are the answer. However, the majority of Black people in this country feel differently. And neither party has a lock on morality. Both have corrupt members and alleged criminals and of course, quite a few that have been convicted. There are those on here who deny racism, White Supremacy, the loss of our Voting Rights, not to mention the huge disparity in Income, Education, Health and Mental Health Care. I will never agree with politicians who believe in handing over billions in tax cuts to the wealthy while Black, Latino and other disadvantaged children have to make do with subpar cafeteria food, old textbooks and unheated and less than ideal school buildings. This is still going on while Republicans gleefully ban books written by Blacks because they don't know what heck CRT is. The Governor of Texas sits in a wheelchair. But had the audacity to slash funding for disabled children's therapy to pay for tax cuts for property owners in 2017. Another example of Compassionate Conservatism. Defend all that? You're echoing Right Wingers.
