  1. Russia, Ukraine, China and US debt are messing with the economic future of this technological planet? Spaceship Earth is a Mess! Believing in ideologies is nonsense. The people who claim to be Capitalists want the workers kept ignorant. Adam Smith: Download Wealth of Nations, it has been in the public domain, and free on the internet, since 2001. Search it for "and account", you will find multiple instances of "read, write and account". Why doesn't the right or the left advocate mandatory accounting/finance in the schools? Karl Marx: Search his major work for 'depreciation'. Marx mentioned depreciation of money and machinery multiple times. He used the word 35 times in his first two volumes. There were no steam trains when Adam Smith died. Marx rode in trains and saw machinery that was modern for his time. But what sophisticated consumer technology was there to depreciate in his day? In the 1930s John Maynard Keynes was writing about a 15-hour work week for grandchildren. That could have been the 1990s. But did Keynes ever see a television commercial for automobiles? When I went to college for Electrical Engineering the term e-waste did not even exist. Today: Planned obsolescence has been going on for decades. What has happened to the DEPRECIATION of durable consumer goods? How many automobiles have Americans trashed since Sputnik? There were 200,000,000 motor vehicles in the US in 1995. Economists: Do not mention NDP, Net Domestic Product. They subtract the depreciation of Capital Goods from GDP like industrial robots and 18-wheel trucks but Joe Blow's car can fall apart and not get noticed. Can economists tell the difference between a banana and an air conditioner? NDP = GDP - Dcap (official economic delusion) NDP = GDP - (Dcap + Dcon) (reality) Dcap == Depreciation of Capital Goods Dcon == Depreciation of Durable Consumer Goods GDP == Grossly Distorted Propaganda I guess intellectuals and pseudo-intellectuals cannot figure out that economists cannot do algebra. 2. Intelligence and knowledge and technology are different things. Any moron can shoot machine gun. A couple of White Brits could gun down 100 Black men with spears. No doubt it would make them feel superior. But that does not mean that they could fix the gun if it malfunctioned. This is why people should KNOW Physics!
  3. Destee, LipstickAlley, been lots of places but did not always use that handle. It is about that PHYSICS business. I went to college for Electrical Engineering originally and imagined getting a Master's in EE and a Master's in physics. I woke up instantly on 9/12/2001. I didn't work that week and normally I kind of drift awake. It was like one side of my brain was saying "That's IMPOSSIBLE!!!" and another side was saying "What the Hell are YOU talking about?" When I went to college we could see the Sears Tower being constructed thru the living room window of the fraternity. My white pledge father was a super senior architect. This was Illinois Institute of Technology and almost everybody was doing some kind of STEM. So the destruction of the towers is not just a historical event, conspiracy or not. It was a Physics Defying Historical Event. The only recorded one I know of in HISTORY. It also involves "education" now because an entire generation has been taught that a 200 ton airliner could destroy a 500,000 ton building in less than 2 hours. So since 9/11 Physics has been HISTORY. Should Black people understand physics? You cannot build Wakanda without it.
  4. What I find curious is that the description of the book does not mention Hubert Henry Harrison. The somewhat shocking thing is that I never heard of him until his book, When Africa Awakes, turned up in Project Gutenberg. It almost looks like the Official Negro Intellectuals shoved him under the rug.
  5. I was hired by the Big Blue computer company in the late 70s. It took 3 interviews. So I was waiting alone in an office after the third interview while 4 Field Managers decided my fate. Finally one came in, Pete. But he looked real nervous so I was wondering what the problem was. He says, "You know you will have to shave your beard if you take the job." I just shrugged my shoulders and said, "Money is more important than hair." It was like I flipped a switch and his personality changed. He was all smiles. What did he think I was going to do? Pull out a knife an stab him. Anyway I got sent from Wisconsin to Atlanta for training in February , Party. Saw the Staple Singers in Atlanta. Went back home after 10 weeks. The course was no problem. Then I met Bob. Bob had been off with a bad back when I was hired. He was an Old Time employee of 20+ years in his 50s. He decided to grow a full beard while he was off. Mine had been like Malcolm X's. He got lots of jokes about his beard and I said nothing for 6 months. Then I got 2 weeks off and grew my beard back. The first person I ran into was the branch manager. He did a double take but said nothing. Bob was the only person in the department who made any comment. Maybe they were holding secret meetings. SHShshshss... "Don't say anything to the Black guy about his beard. ROFL
  6. When I was in 6th grade (I think) I got into a conversation with a classmate about the word "Lady". She came across as though she was entitled to the title. So I looked it up in the dictionary later that day. There were lots of definitions like "cleaning lady" and stuff involving European nobility, but the definition that stuck out was: LADY == Sophisticated Woman SOPHISTICATED == Knowledgeable of the Ways of the World So should we have some criteria for Lady qualification or just use the word willy nilly. Of course immediate social conditions may restrict what a man lets out of his mouth.
  7. Greetings, I was recently banned from the StraightDope message board. I got a good laugh out of it. But we are approaching the 23rd anniversary of a world changing event. It was not a Physics Changing event. Neil DeGrasse Tyson sent out a public letter on 9/12/2001 admitting that he lived 4 blocks from Ground Zero and had to leave his home because of the dust. However I am not aware of his discussing the Physics of the Destruction of the Towers since then. Living in New York he should see skyscrapers quite often and being an astrophysicist he should understand some fundamental things about them. How does the steel have to be distributed down a 1430 foot structure (including the 70 ft in the 6 basement levels) support it's weight against gravity and withstand the wind? The Eiffel Tower is 130 years old. Although it scraped the sky for 40 years before the Empire State Building it is not a skyscraper, but its nakedness displays the distribution of support and, no doubt, weight like no building could. However the 10,000 tons of wrought iron in the ET does not have to support twice it's own weight in concrete. Did level 105 of the North Tower of the WTC contain the same amount of steel as the 5th level which had to support the weight of 21 times as many stories? When and where have "experts" discussed the significance of accurate data on the distribution of steel down the Twin Towers in relation to analyzing their destruction? What does this have to do with Black people? Is there Black Physics? Is there White Physics? If there is Physics related to what I call the Twin Towers Affair shouldn't most "educated" and "Intelligent" people be able to understand it, especially in the nation that put men on the Moon. I got called a Troll and Conspiracy Theorist in 3 days on StraightDope. What is going to happen here? The clock is ticking!
