  1. I was in Thibodaux last year. Site of a little known race massacre. @zeke1234 the “Jesus” Pioneer speaks of is the one whose religion was used To justify slavery and had done little to stem the violence in our communities. It is a mind set. It is the same mind set that give is our standard of beauty and tells us whose ice is colder.
  2. Yeah Red Foxx used to go on about Lena Horne on his show Sanford and Son. YouTube is selling the flick for $4 maybe watch it this weekend.
  3. Yes i know. I appreciate my comment was a diversion which is why I spawned another conversation. i never saw the film stormy weather what is bad about it?
  4. I don’t know. I swear when I post from my phone it feels like my text is changed after I hit the submit reply button 😞
  5. @zeke1234 that cover from the March 19, 1953 issue from Jet Magazine Intrigued me I shared the article here.
  6. Jet Magazine, at least back in the mid-20th century, was good for crafting headlines would be considered click-bait today. This headline It got my attention, not because I did not know the answer; I wanted to see how the magazine -- designed to appeal to the masses -- covered the issue back in 1953. What do you think about the coverage?
  7. Wait, @richardmurray all this time I thought you lived or were from Harlem. I wish more people took your polls. It may be that you have to have an account to take the poll. I'll lookinto this. Yeah, I saw that Yusef Salaam won the city council seat. I'm not surprised. He is tall, handsome, and the most articulate of the five guys he got bum rushed with. Being one of the exonerated gave him some name recognition which helps tremendously -- plus white people love him... I also saw the Bill Perkins died recently -- that news caught me off guard. I used to see the Brother running in Central Park (interestingly the last time was not too far from where the Central Park Jogger was brutalized).
  8. Welcome to the forums @arabellemcelreavy2!
  9. Me too. I also used to use it to make popcorn, but that was until I got an air popper which superior to anything you can get out of microwave oven. That is good practice. It seems to me most people don't read the original posted source. Most often what I find (not talking about you) is that when you go to the "source" it; does not support the argument of the poster -- indeed may even contradict the poster; it is not an original source and is paraphrasing another course. When run down the "original" source it does not substantiate the poster's point; it is just another opinion -- not proof; or the source is specious. There have been so many posters whose shared links so often feel into one of the above categories that I just stopped looking at their sources. I've some to believe many don't even read their own sources. If they did read then they did not understand what they read. Since most do check sources, especially when reading on social media, lies proliferate and become alternative facts. Depending upon how AI is used it can start wars.
  10. Well TikTok did not like it. It was the least viewed video I’ve published since i started posting videos on TikTok if it is virtual I’m sure AI will easily mimic human interaction and may even be superior to it. It has already passed the touring test I’m not so sure about the list @Stefanmodern microwave are designed to defrost frozen meat. This past Sunday i melted a stick of frozen butter for some butter milk pancakes i made. but i never cook a meal using a microwave.
  11. That is true @zeke1234. AI should make humanity, but I fear it will just increase wealth inequality, because people are too greedy.
  12. Yeah the only social media company I half way try to post to is owned by the Chinese, so they are already manipulating me better than the Americans. The way the Chinese government surveils their population is amazing and scary; it is on par with what American corporations do with us.
  13. Still that data is about arrests, not convictions We know Black people are more likely to be arrested We know most murders are not solved. We know most people wrongly arrested and convicted of murders are Black Again, nothing the person who started this conversation substantiates the demonizing claim that black commit 60% of murders. Maybe he meant Blacks are 60% of the murder victims 🥺 Black people are under constant attack on all fronts. Given the overtly racist history of this country, this behavior is perfectly understandable. But it is time that people educate themselves and shed this racist mentality. Unfortunately it seems, in recent years, we’re are becoming more divided. This may not be true, but the media’s coverage and posts on this forum makes it seem that way .
  14. “Knowledge is power,” and “absolute power corrupts absolutely.” This is what makes AI in the hands of capitalists so dangerous.
  15. I think the real problem are media whose only motivation is maximizing profits and most of these are white owned. I could not bring myself to watch more than a minute of the video.
  16. Martin had a dream; look what happened to him. Helping white folks become less racist is not the purpose of the forum anyway. That is what Robin DiAngelo is for.
  17. I would not have guessed that. You don't come across like one of those dog-pampering, electric-vehicle-driving, city slickers. 😉 @JakeFromNY I saw the quotes, and taken out of context I really don't know what to make of them. This is yet another strawman. Again, you wrote, in response to @frankster, "Please show where I demonize you or anyone in this thread??" I have not read this entire conversation, but I've read enough of Frankster's writing to know that he would not demonize you. Frankster joining this forum is about the best this that came out of the conversation 🙂 This conversation is called "Blacks commit 60% of ALL violent crimes...." Is this something you believe too @JakeFromNY? Someone with a cursory knowledge of this nation's history would know that is just absurd. The person who started this conversation, as far as I can tell, never posted a shred of evidence to support the statement. FBI arrest stats for 2019 Don't support this. The person who posted this was lying or woefully misinformed. @JakeFromNY consider the following: Someone visits a Black discussion forum and "demonizes" Black people, by posting false information about Black people. Then a white guy comes here and says he is being demonized. Can you see why the Black people here would be incredulous?
  18. I was not aware that this was true. It may be, but I'd image it is not. I periodically look at this page: https://aalbc.com/tc/online/ it tells you what people has been doing on the forums over that last 30 minutes. I can also see the ip address which may give you a clue to the location of the user. When I log out I don't see the IP addresses. @Pioneer1 when you visit that page do you see IP addresses? Well with AI the powerful will be able to read everything ever posted anywhere on the web. The tools will be able learn your true identity and use that information in ways I can't even begin to fathom. What we saw with Cambridge Analytica and Facebook was child's play by comparison I still have not figured out what the deal is with the Black People commit 60% of the crimes conversation. It was the 2nd most visited page, in the last 30 days, on the entire site. Many visitors are from Europe, or using a VPN to make it look like they are coming from Europe. It would be getting media attention if it were on Twitter.
  19. @Wildfire welcome to the forums!
  20. I scanned the article I do not believe for a second. "The Incorruptibles remains the acknowledged classic on the bodies of saints that did not undergo decomposition after death. Many remained fresh and flexible for years, or even centuries." Centuries please! "St. Nicholas of Tolentino, whose arms have frequently bled over the last 400 years?" No. "when a finger was amputated from St. John of the Cross several months after his death, it was immediately observed that blood began to flow from the wound?" Nope, don't believe this either. You can't believe most of the stuff on the web. I just watched the video and I don't believe it either. Why do they have her "body" just sprawled out on a cafeteria table letting any mope handle her?
  21. @Stefan that last reply to Pioneer reminded me of @Cynique and made me laugh. @Pioneer1 the act of voting becomes far less effective with sophisticated, computer-driven gerrymandering. You should read the article. Clarence Thomas is a problem. Where is the drop squad when you need them?
  22. I'm voting for West if he gets on the Florida ballot. I don't think Trump will be the GOP nominee (I'm willing to wager 😉). I hope the Dems can do better than Biden/Harris, but it does not look like it.
  23. Yes. A necktie would not work for Roland, as that requires a neck 😉
