ProfD
Due to police negligence, a mistrial has been declared in two white men shooting at a Black FedEx driver: https://www.npr.org/2023/08/17/1194548408/mississippi-judge-declares-mistrial-in-shooting-attack-on-black-fedex-driver While it's no surprise especially in the state of Mississippi, it's indicative of the racism and white privilege that still exists all over this country. Clearly, the white folks in Mississippi are totally on code in protecting their own. The body language of the two white defendants (father & son) shows they never feared losing their freedom. This situation could have been another case of Ahmaud Arbery. Fortunately, the young man, D’Monterrio Gibson is still alive. Black folks have to get on code and do a better job of protecting our own by every means necessary. We cannot afford to wait for another Black vvictimto be killed by white folks and the only thing we can do is hashtags and T-shirts with pictures and platitudes.
zeke1234
But they got the Rankin County, Mississippi six 'law officers' for sexually molesting two Black men, and shooting one in the neck or mouth. So they are making headway in Mississippi.

Another way of looking at it is, if they are COMMITTING THESE CRIMES PERIOD against Black folks......whether they're being punished for them or not....progress isn't being made. When you go to buy a house........ Your focus is on how much crime the neighborhood has, not what percentage of the burgulars were actually caught and punished. zeke1234
They fired this Fed-Ex driver, because he didn't want to take a job in a different department. Would he have been 'transferred' or fired, if the two White fellows had been convicted, and there was no mistrial? Is this Fed-Ex's avoiding future litigation against the two White fellows? Jobs like Fed-Ex aren't worth suing the ex-employer over. There is something 'better' for this fellow in life.
Pioneer1
Well now......Fed-Ex isn't a bad job. It depends on your circumstances in life. Everybody doesn't have Masters and Doctorate degrees to earn 6 figures, lol. The internet may make it SEEM that way because most internet savy people are well educated and have a little money on them. The average working class brother or single mother out there is often DOING GOOD to get a job offering $25 an hour, some healthcare, and vacation time! Remember, a large percentage of Black men don't have ANY job.

Taking a quote out of it's context and calling it judgmental doesn't read like a quest for truth and/or a desire to acknowledge it.
