Why can't anybody get the gist of my post which was in response to the consensus among you that social media is a religion and people who follow it are gullible, because its content is, for the most part, just junk! Yet, YOU YOURSELVES,  have no problem with being entertained by pioneer's "junky" blaxplotation movie which is equivalent to what you criticize on social media, sooo - said movie belongs on a social medium forum like TIK TOK rather than a discussion forum site!!  

As usual The Strawman went all off on a tangent blabbing about something that had very little to do with the inconsistency I was pointing out.

And nobody has yet to specifically address my observation.

The difference between this forum and social media platforms like TikTok are profound. Sure in some cases, the content might be just as trivial, silly, incorrect, deep sublime, witty as anything that you’ll find on social media one main difference you consistently ignore, however, is that a tremendous amount of time, energy and money goes into deliberately hacking into the brain of the users of the systems and they have been very effective.

 

There are no Scientist here trying to keep you engaged on this platform 24/7  We don’t even have ads here anymore. You ignore all the evidence which speaks to the adverse impact of this on our society. But it’s fine not everyone is going to get it or if they get it accept it.

 

It is much like pioneer refusal to accept, there’s no scientific basis for race or getting Harry realize not all ministers are money grubbing womanizers.

 I really just wanted an opportunity to give a slap on the wrist to anybody who chided people for wasting time on social media while at the same time they were wasting their time, watching that blaxploitation crap pioneer churns out, degrading black women.

My response to Troy was that social media could be considered like a religion.

 

Just like religion, I didn't cast aspersion on those who choose to use social media.

 

As an old man, I have no concern over how people choose to use their time as long as they are not bringing hurt, harm or danger to others.

 

Life is short. In the absence of purpose, people should sink their time accordingly in living to the fullest.

Yeah, I think that notion is over the top given GQ far too much credit. If it wasn’t for pioneer I wouldn’t even seen the cover I doubt many other black women have seen it — at least those who I’m not on  social media.

If people spend an inordinate time on social media and they are manipulated into not voting for Kamala and others are manipulated into voting for Trump. Has any harm been done?

 

If people are tricked and manipulated into voting against their self interest by those using social media for this purpose is that time on social media not hurting you?

Social media didn't manipulate people into costing Kamala Harris the election aneld helping POTUS OJ win. 

 

Kamala Harris was the *wrong* candidate. America isn't ready for a female POTUS.

 

The MAGA base is huge. Independent voters rode with them.

See to say that Kamala was the wrong candidate implies that Trump was the right one. Which in a normal world would make absolutely no sense but that is what happened.
 

We already know that is what happened when Hillary lost to Trump the first time. At that time, I was still on social media and I had decided not to vote then. @aka Contrarian talk some sense to me and I voted for Hillary.

 

In my book, that was the last straw and I stopped using social media. I have been manipulated and did not realize it.

Trump is a creation of the media primarily social media. If it wasn’t for social media Trump absolutely would not be the president of the United States.

These women losing the election had more to do with entrenched white patriarchy than anything else.

Well, if they voted for POTUS OJ, they're getting exactly what they wanted when casting it.

 

They weren't manipulated. In fact, there are poor people in red states who say they don't want ObamaCare. Nevermind the GOP doesn't have an alternative plan.

 

Obviously, those people who voted for POTUS OJ are willing to leave the rock if life-saving meds are no longer affordable.
