I was sure those days would be a distant memory by now.

Having said that......

I agree with you that I'm looking forward to 2022 being a much better year for our people than 2021 has been.

Yep. I'm not into the religious and/or commercialized aspects of holidays.

 

For me, holidays are about family and friends gathering for food and fellowship. It's a great time for teaching and discussion instead of playing games and cussing.😁

 

Hopefully, any knowledge and information passed along during those gatherings will motivate folks to lead healthier and more prosperous lives daily. 😎

In keeping with the teachings of NF Jr. and not necessarily to the contrary,  I believe gatherings can be positive. It has to be controlled by the elders of the family and/or community.

 

There was a time when more black men were looked up to and respected by their women and children and extended family and community.

 

Case in point...my grandfathers were like EF Hutton. They were either admired or feared but always respected by everyone they knew. I'm definitely their grandson in every way.😁

 

Many factors go into the collapse and dysfunction of our families and communities. It takes a lot to rebuild but mainly comes down to men stepping up to the plate in a major way.  We gotta control our n8gglets.😎

I meant to stop by here yesterday but I had unexpected

company and that kept me busy all day.

 

I agree with your comments.  Other than sending small

gifts to family and friends to let them know they are

being thought of, I do not get embroiled in all of the 

commercial aspects of Christmas anymore.  The whole

occasion has become all about the dollar bill.

 

I get my groceries or whatever else I need a couple of 

weeks in advance so that I'm not caught up in the rush,

and anything I really want to buy, I wait for the after

Christmas sales so I can get it for less.

 

It's amazing how everybody jacks up their prices just

because they know people need it for Christmas. 

It's almost like extortion.

As a conservative, I agree with some of what MTG says, but 

she should learn to filter some of her nonsense. 

 

Every thought that pops into a person's brain does not need

to be uttered to the general public.

  

Regarding Kwanzaa, she seems to be confusing a celebration

with a religion.  Considering all the pagan holidays that whitey

has foisted on us, she should allow Black people to enjoy our

one cultural celebration in peace, and let us keep something

that belongs to just us, to ourselves.

Of just talking period when you're in the presence of older grown folks...lol.

If you were lucky...one of them might look over at you and roll their eyes a little bit to let you know "shut up boy".

But as I got older I now realize why the old folks were that way with children.
