To Pioneer -- Regarding the $20,000 yearly limit suggestion, the idea is not to deplete the reparations fund, but have it exist for the generations to come. Rich Blacks would not partake of reparations, because they have 'found' their reward. Those would make $150,000 a year, for two or three generations consecutively, where they pass wealth to their next generations, probably should not get reparations. Those who would spend reparations frivously, eg, NIKE shoes or drug use, should be excluded. If a person can show a need for more at the immediate time, make the reparation payment, and lessen future reparation payments. No lump some reparation payment silliness, here today, gone tommorrow. Regarding the 'gates of hell' reference that I made, it was done in the vein that Catholics believe in a purgatory, where some souls wait, until the final judgment day. As a Christian, I still think the idea of reparations, should be looked at from a 'way back when' point of view, to a 'way in the future' point of view. How do our ancestors, many who have entered into the Kingdom of God, see this now and sensual generation reaping monetary benefits, from their pain and suffering 250 years ago? Is the purpose of reparations to make whole for the crime/sin committed? Will reparations make null and void, ie, forgiveness of, the culpableness of the perpertrators of the heinous crimes, especially in Portugal, Spain, Cuba, Mexico and Brazil? When we pick and choose which governments to demand reparations from, and leave out the really bad slavers, do we further dishonor our ancestors? Especially those five 'bad' actors mentioned? From a 'way in the future' point of view, put reparations in a living trust that will last for 500 years. Each person who is more that 50% Black, can get $10,000 to 20,000 a year, based on financial need. Look towards future Black generations. That Evanston 'reparations', settlement, for 'Negroes' who lived in Evanston from 1919-1965 being discriminated against in housing. Which souls of which rednecks on the verge of hell will be set free in Skokie, I mean Evanston, , because of a few Negroes desire to 'get theirs' right here and now, while 'you other' Negroes get your own later, if at all. I preface this comment by saying that I am a Christian. I have many life long light skinned Black friends and relatives, who I would not trade for anyone else. Universally generalizing on people because of their skin color, perhaps is not the best way to view the present or the past. Having said all of that, history and the present gives witness that ‘some’ light skinned mulattoes thought themselves ‘better than’ phenotypical Blacks in history, even until today. In my city ‘down South’, the light skin mulattoes on the other side of ‘Main Street’, have their own clubs, churches and cliques. On the other hand, there are many light skinned mulattoes on 'my side' of ‘Main Street’, I don't know if they even care to be a part of that society. Most light skinned mulattoes of my side of ‘Main Street’ married dark skinned spouses. On the other side of ‘Main Street’, they maintain light skinned progeny. We see the same types of divisions at Howard U. in the District, and light skinned churches along Rhode Island Ave. The same way that many light skinned mulattoes may be ‘fakin and shakin’ that they are ‘Black’, many more Blacks are ‘fakin and shakin that they are Black, but really want to be White,. And they are the main betrayers of the Black race. No sense of race uplift, nor of racial unity. Can’t universally generalize on people. Can’t universally condemn people. The most dangerous 'Negroes' are those that repent to the Lord that they were born Black, (there must have been some mistake in Heaven), and ask the Lord to wash them ‘White as snow’, like Tina Turner.
