  1. If you can't see how flawed your reasoning is, then you're fooling yourself about your credibility. You either can't comprehend the distinction i made, or you conveniently neglected to not include what else i said about Kalexander's mendacity being limited to things about himself, but that he was on solid ground when it came to hard data to support his arguments. You, however, make the statement that your paucity of "intelligence and education" have no bearing on the truth, as if what you and your ignorant self are saying about black men and college is true. And it simply isn't - except in your mind. You are a purveyor of sophistry. Rather than ever conceding a point, you resort to specious arguments that obscure reality with subterfuge. If i was into "psycho-babble", I'd suspect your need to always be right is symptomatic of a deeper personal problem. I have recently tried to limit my role on this board to that of an observer. But i must confess that i lack enough self discipline to keep quiet when your fallacy is so loud. So i give up. So much for my hiatus. The cynical old contrarian has taken off her gag.
  2. Obviously. Having admitted that, why should anybody pay any attention to or place any credence in the scenarios you make up in your head and subsequently declare to be true. Such as: These kind of "playas" are the ones who you relegate to not being college material and, indeed, they don't go there. Plus, you continue to gloss over the black middle class whose ethics do not fit into your "one-size-fits-all" way of categorizing black men, and from whose ranks most black male college students come from. You are also ridiculously behind the times when it comes to the Puritanical way you characterize the sexual climate on white college campuses. And contrary to your imagination, a social life reinforced by the partying traditional of black fraternities is alive and well on black campuses and within the black enclaves on the mostly-white and integrated universities. (This is what my contacts among the millennial college crowd report.) Since you've chosen Booker T. Washington as your latest "avatar", you are once again advocating his approach, as if it is new and innovative, as if technical and trade schools don't exist and as if black men do not go into the blue collar or self-employed labor force. In your efforts to be a black visionary, you wallow in stale ideas and a lack of awareness. Or do black people need you to tell them how to live, in the first place. At this point, they've all figured that they have to come up with their own individual way of getting over. Black unity is just an empty phrase that's been bandied about for at least 100 years with little effect. The best kept secret, which is right under our noses, is how diversity works for black individuals in this country. You mentioned on the "Break" thread that i haven't posted on other subjects in a while, so these comments are my way of giving equal time to another subject before i resume to my summer hiatus. BUH-BYE 😑
  3. Kalexander is quirky in and of himself. The subjects of the discussions he participates in do not rivet me. Del apparently needed a break from the hostility he was exuding toward Kalexander, - and he passed the torch on to you. Hint: The mention of my name in a post very often elicits a response. This is easily remedied.
  4. @Pioneer1 Saying you don't distort things is a lie. And I hate to burst your balloon, but you fail miserably at your attempt to come across as anything other than the egomaniac that you are. As far as "looks" go, ugliness permeates your persona. Furthermore, since you can't keep up with Kalexander, you do what you always do, which is to blame that on him instead of on your having a deluded shallow mind. And he gets points for not being a bore.
  5. They does no such thing. In fact, your response just confirms what i've always said about you distorting things in order to make yourself look good. None of those assertions are accurate. When i'm so inclined, if i get on Kalexander's wave length, i figure out what he's saying. I don't take him on, because the subjects you and him discuss don't inspire an opinion on my part. They are not issues i'm particularly interested in. Think what you want to think about him. But stop putting words in my mouth.
  6. @Pioneer1 Speak for yourself, and stop assuming that you know what i think! Kalexander shucks and jives and is inclined to taunt people; that's his style which is why I referred to his posts as "raps". I am not deeply engaged in discussions with anyone anymore but I get the impression that while he may mislead or exaggerate about himself, he doesn't falsify data when presenting his points. That's the bottom line. Like everyone else on this board, he's opinionated, and is just another member of the cast of characters who post here.
  7. @Pioneer1How can you not comprehend that the above statement by Kalexander proves what i said about him being "honest and self aware" ??? I don't engage him in conversation that much because i am not provoked by what he raps about.
  8. @Pioneer1Of course YOU wouldn't take the things Kalexander says seriously because you are in denial about your addled mentality, and the truth hurts. At least he's honest, has self-awareness and is not ashamed of who he is. And his circumstances invoke no more contempt than yours as once again you cowardly resort to hiding behind the picture of a famous person, hoping some of his sheen will rub off on you. And it's significant how you make up these silly, fictitious scenarios about me and my boy toy. You apparently believe the things you imagine are true; typical of how your warped mind works in your approach to life. Reality is not your strong suit. You couldn't come up with any rebuttals to my observations, so to save face you resort to deception because that's the name of the game in your deluded little universe. You're pathetic as you feign laughing, hoping others will not realize what a big joke you are. Take him, Kalex. He's all yours! 😂
  9. You thought wrong. As usual. (which is why you are perfect target practice for Kalexander.) Still can't get that boy toy thing off your mind, can you? BTW, do you have to use viagra when humping your blow up doll?) I don't need to be conjured up to post here. I'll do so when ever i choose.
  10. FaceBook is certainly fertile ground for slavishly religious mopes and people who can't spell, write complete sentences, speak correct grammar or know the difference between such homonyms as: to and too, their and there, your and you're, all of which is why it shouldn't be taken seriously. It's also a place for an occasional stimulating exchange, but mostly it provides amusement. Some folks need to be reminded that "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". 🙃
  11. Obviously the reason you have to keep saying it is because it has no impact on reasonable people. Wisdom and profound knowledge and common sense have no "race". That's why voices that embody these qualities endure through the ages, and are always appropriate to quote or cite or heed. The inability to comprehend this, is a reflection of a person trapped in the limited parameters of his mentality, one who possesses no credentials to judge the women he speaks of and no message that inspires their approval. Stick to what you know. (That should occupy your small mind. 😵)
  12. @Del I never questioned Kalexander's claims as a writer. I was skeptical about him having a degree in journalism. But i repeat, his assessment of pioneer's hogwash was actually on point to me, possibly because we were on the same wave length. You did a 360 degree turn on pioneer who you used to clash with because he'd needle you about your convoluted sentences and psychic predictions. Then you had this great epiphany and decided to canonize him and proclaim him the saint of Every Man, the anti-dote for Troy's academic intellect. Folks have changes of heart, although when Kalexander first came on this board, i remarked that i liked him OK because he could take criticism and was refreshingly kooky.
  13. My position was clearly stated but, as usual, people overlooked everything i said and saw what they wanted to see and decided i took a break from posting here solely because of pioneer. Del should've let sleeping dogs lie, instead of bringing my name into the conversation. That was a remarkably accurate statement in regard to pioneer's rant, Kalexander. You were on point this time! Why of all the guys on this board, would a dufus like pioneer be my choice for anything other than rejection? (He'd regularly bring up the subject of my 72 year old boy toy and would mistakenly take my responses to this as a sign that it was me initiating the subject because i had eyes for him, - probably something for him to think about during his sessions with his blow up doll 🤭) It also amazes me how transparent the reason is for Del's reaction to you, being so different from his reaction to Pioneer. It's like he imagines that adopting pioneer makes him look more magnanimous and compassionate, as he tries to fit a square peg into a round hole by totally mis-characterizing Pioneer as humble - and wise(?) 🤣 I'm disappointed in how he has stooped to such bathos. ) Whatever. But at least he admitted that he was not objective or concerned with facts. 😴 Gotta go. i don't want to get stuck back in this viscous mire of vicious opinions. I will simply co-sign to whatever Troy says, for the simple reason that he comes closest to my way of thinking.
  14. It's OK, Pioneer. Del luvs you.
  15. @Del Egads, man, have you lost your mind? Those statements were enough to elicit a comment from me. You'll probably change your opinion about me after you read this response but - so be it. "The sun will come up tomorrow." Pioneer is one of the reasons i stopped posting because i found his stance on most things so insufferable, i needed to remove myself from an atmosphere of "familiarity breeding contempt", a situation reminding me that "if you can't say anything good, it's best to not say anything at all". My time here was up because my having difficulty in finding anything good to say about anything, made me a liability. Taking a break was not a hard decision. i had stayed too long at the party. And Troy and Mel do a very good job of keeping things real. Who needs my contrarian input? 🤐 it should come as no surprise then that i totally disagree with everything your said about Pioneer. i consider him the most egotistical, person on this board. Every conclusion he comes to has its origin in the ego that fuels how he perceives the world. All he needs is one experience to carve his opinion into the stone of an obstinacy that fosters whatever he decides about things in general and black people in particular, to be adamantly true because he considers himself to the ultimate authority. Facts, figures, studies be damned in his cherry-pickin' the tree of information. Forget Mel's and Troy's and Kalexander's rebuttals that refute his BS. When he's not preaching his gospel, he states the obvious because he is not an original thinker and yes, from time to time, he assumes a phony air of humbleness, often prefacing his remarks with the phrase "I may not be the smartest person in the world, but - ", an introduction that is subsequently proven accurate as he lays out his lengthy "dissertations" that are saturated with shallow subjectivity. "Self-assessed himself" ? Puleeze. He is incapable of regarding himself as anything other than right about the subjects he zeroes in on. Kalexander is at least, able to discern and admit his shortcomings."Funny"? He's ridiculous. Because Pioneer couldn't wrap his brain around "Childish Gambino" 's spoof, he decided something was wrong with Gambino instead of considering that he, himself, is a one-dimensional clod who can't see past his nose. His attitude about black women, is full of inaccuracies and notions that date back to 50 years ago, and are example of how out of touch he is in this era, dictating to us who our role models should be and what our motivations are, and who is and who isn't "black", as if a mentally-promiscuous, polygamy advocate like himself, the anti-thesis of what a role model for black males should be, has any room to criticize sistas. As i've previously stated, Pioneer is an example of a certain type i've come across down through the years, - individuals who simply make my gut recoil. That's an inexplicable fact of my life; not an opinion. I'm well aware that my observations on this subject don't really matter, and i would've refrained from expressing them if you hadn't brought my name up in a paragraph where you felt a need to sing an off-key version of Pioneer's praises. And speaking of opinions, Del, i haven't changed mine in regard to your using Pioneer as a vehicle to deride Troy. (Just for the record, however, you don't make my gut recoil! You just make my eyebrow rise. 🤨😉) Unfortunately, I think your admission that you don't believe in "facts" or "objectivity" pretty much undermines everything you have said. it would seem you are just blowin smoke. And this includes your mention of having encounters with a broad cross section of people What creeps between the lines is that beneath all the layers of your facade of being cool and detached, is a sensitive, easily offended person, - a someone who finds it necessary to say that he is impervious and psychic - because it is not obvious that this is the case. And i'm sorry that this further unsolicited criticism will seal my doom with you when i express my disagreement with your prediction that Donald Trump will be removed from office. IMO, no amount of credible evidence will be enough for him to be ousted. He is becoming entrenched, gradually gaining converts because the average white American can identify with his bad character and disregard for authority and the truth. Plus, the nation is not prepared for the upheaval his being forced out of office will precipitate. But i will, indeed, be glad to be wrong on this subject! And it won't be the first time i've been wrong, something i'm sure you'll agree with. C'est la Vie. Back to my retreat. My work here is done. Carry on. 😁
  16. Since Mel and Zaji have made themselves scarce, i'm going on hiatus, too. You boys can discuss amongst yourselves and exude your testosterone. Time for me to shift into the astral zone and expand my mind...
  17. Everybody has their own conception of science and religion and spirituality, which are all fluid words with multiple definitions. So what someone says on this subject is a reflection and expression of how they personally interpret definitions - definitions which are not carved in stone. I don't think it's necessary for there to be a mutual consensus about questions having to do with abstract ideas. Each of us should just believe what we want to. As far as i'm concerned, words get in the way. If some among you require the validation of others agreeing with you, then so be it. I'm done with debating the subject.
  18. i am becoming more and more into visual images that excite my focus and illustrate silence. So much better than the empty words of shallow minds.
  19. You spelled "Freudian" wrong, Dummy.
  20. Is that an opinion?
  21. And you still can't spell "definitely", which says a lot about how your brain works. Tell me again, what is the source of your assertion about the "hundreds and thousands" of years blacks were humane to whites. Even the phrase "hundreds and thousands" is a silly one. Why not just say thousands. Your mind is off-kilter. Quit worrying about my love life and focus on maintaining that blow-up doll you keep stashed in your closet. Pathetic.
  22. Not all mental illness is about schizophrenia. A fanatical religious zealot is a state of mind that can influence a person's view of the world.
  23. That's putting it mildly. And "helping you out" will be met with resistance because what you can't distort, you ignore.
  24. Nothing can convince you that you are wrong about there only being on race because you think you're an authority on everything, so Troy has wisely stopped wasting his time, - as will i. What you think really isn't important. You have no influence on anything and what you say carries no weight, so just blab on because that's all your good for.
