i don't have to prove anything to you because you haven't proved what you claim. Everything you say is just a bunch of crap you pull out of your ass. You think you're an authority on everything with your self-important self and you ain't nothin but a wanna-be with no credentials.

Oh, You Thought The Titanic Ship Sank?
Just because a lot of white people checked out the movie to see what all the hoopla was about doesn't mean they liked it a lot. A lot of them weren't impressed - for various reason. Others who liked it are members of the comic book hero culture. They patronize all movies about these characters. The movie's hype feeds upon itself.

In Native American and African Traditions Science was not Separate from Religion
I don't agree with what you say. His mental state does have a bearing on his scientific and religious pronouncements. And what religion is God? What religion are the Natural laws of physics tenets of?

LOL As expected, pioneer resorts to simply contradicting what i say; that's all he can do because he has no credible rebuttals. He doesn't know any more what he is talking about than i do. But my i do draw from sources other than ones that make me comfortable to believe, something pioneer can't claim. He is the center of a universe he has created, a dense miasma of bull shit where he is omniscient, riding on the back on an ass, trotting along on an endless ego trip, deluded into thinking he is some kind of a black messiah. And that is my opinion, - an insult which Del is free to rebut in his role as the charred keeper of pioneer's flame. I am receptive to the opinion of people who are innovative thinkers, to whom "what if" is a phrase that prefaces their profound speculations. Tired, unoriginal, unproven blather doesn't inspire credibility on my part, especially when the individual spewing it, thinks his half-cocked pronouncements are carved in stone. Oh, puleeze. Black humans never had domination over white humans for hundreds of thousands of years. That's a lot of hyperbole on your part. You don't know what black humans were doing to each other or, for that matter, what red humans were doing to each other. Cruelty in the quest for power exists across the board, and white humans were able to prevail because of the superior weaponry which enabled them to gain a foothold. Your argument is full of mawkish emotion.

In Native American and African Traditions Science was not Separate from Religion
If you'd have ever checked the definition of "espouse", you'd stop desperately and pathetically clinging to this idea. espouse:adopt or support (a cause, belief, or way of life):" synonyms:adopt, embrace, take up, accept, welcome None of the definitions of this word apply to science's attitude toward religion. Science acknowledges religion but does not incorporate it in its work, even if individual scientists may be religious in their private lives.

National Geographic Magazine's Issue on Race
Unlike you, Pioneer, when i am presented with credible evidence, i am not too thick-skulled to change my mind. This should be obvious to anyone but you who, because you are incapable of being enlightened,- think everyone else is the same way. BTW, i only changed my mind once, and that was when Troy's scientific based evidence made better sense than that crap you spout.

That's the whole point of race being an artificial construct. It enables tribes to dominate and discriminate against those whom they feel superior to. The social construct of "bias" is exemplified by the class distinctions which occur within the tribes. But none of these man-made classifications can neutralize the fact that humans are all the same species because they can mate and reproduce no matter how different they look. Inbred in Homo Sapiens, is apparently a survival instinct to dominate, - to be the Alpha Male/King of the Hill. Blacks portray themselves as a sympathetic noble group, but they are in reality just unlucky. If black humans had managed to hold on to their dominance, they would treat other tribes just as bad as they are treated by them - because they all have the same mentality, and power corrupts. i take the liberty of expressing my opinionated conclusions because, with pioneer, you have the option to do what he does.

National Geographic Magazine's Issue on Race
Can pioneer come up with 3 reputable sources that say there is more than one race? Instead of requesting that Troy justify his claims which are aligned with current conventional wisdom, pioneer should reinforce his stance - which is mostly opinion-based.

Cultural Wars and the Black Panther
Black Panther fever seems to have died down in this country, and blacks are moving on to whatever the next fad or cause is. Decrying the death of a young unarmed brotha shot to death in his grandmother's back yard by trigger-happy cops in Sacramento, California, and the events on the premier of "Empire"s new season seem to be filling their latest need to flex their blackness. Also, a lot of curiosity about the unidentified female who bit Beyonce on the cheek at a glitzy affair. Ho Hum

Confessions of a Weary Soul
A silly suggestion, leaving me to consider its source. I already mentioned that introspection is my fulfilling alternative to being bored. BTW, the word is spelled "monotony" not "monotany".

Confessions of a Weary Soul
@Pioneer1 Only the last paragraph had daydream overtures. Everything preceding it were disclosures of my disillusionment and weariness. And you never "know better". You just think you do. You may not daydream but you are delusional, totally convinced of your infallibility, something Troy regularly deposes.

Confessions of a Weary Soul
@Pioneer1Who cares what big blow hard like you were expecting? Why would you think a post titled "the confessions of a weary soul" would be about criminal or inappropriate activity? An example of your how your skewed mind works.

Confessions of a Weary Soul
Well, now that Spring has officially arrived replete with freezing temperatures and even snow flurries, instead of me feeling ready to emerge from the winter doldrums and take on the world with renewed vigor, i have little enthusiasm for what awaits outside my cave; an arena where i have lost interest in competing. A scenario that has degenerated into a mundane TV rerun of the past. A society that is a growing reflection of what i despise, populated by people who embody what i reject; not only Trump and his ilk, but insipid celebs in the entertainment industry, ubiquitous victims of religious mind control, the droning voices of a black community debating itself. Language, which i used to love, has become a barrier rather than a gateway to communication in my one-on-one interactions. I am becoming a misanthrope as well as a captive of my own imperfections. But, i am thankful for the retreat of introspection and the encompass of the universe. If boredom with real life is the price i have to pay for the freedom to wonder and imagine, then i am grateful, too, for the psyche which transcends my material surroundings. Here on earth i have become an apathetic spectator. Inside my head, however, i am taking a thrilling spiritual journey that leads to who knows where...

Donald Trump could be the next President.
He doesn't have to fire Mueller. The burden of proof is on Mueller and he has to have an air tight case to bring Trump down, which i don't think he has. I'd be glad to see Trump go but, as Troy has noted, that evangelical fascist Pence is just as bad.

Donald Trump could be the next President.
The proceedings may very well reach the impeachment stage, but i think Trump will be acquitted because of the partisan make-up of the Congress and the Supreme Court. Or can i see him resigning, and any attempt to force him out will create unrest among the general public, fueled by the protests of his gun-toting, religious fanatical, neo-nazi followers. i think the prospects of this will inhibit the Dems, who will probably switch their focus to beating him at the polls. But, - we shall see. Will truth and justice prevail or will the fall of the American Empire enter its first phase?
-
Donald Trump could be the next President.
There are growing numbers of closet Trump supporters out there, common folk who think he is being picked on and harassed, and who empathize with him because he's just like they are, ignorant, bigoted, fascistic, misogynistic, homophobic and lewd. I don't believe Trump will be ousted from office because this would de-stabilize the country and with Trump's irrational, rabid followers, things would go from bad to worse while Democrats would, as usual, present a spineless front. The Roseanne TV show of the 1980's which was a sit-com about a blue collar family, has been re-cycled and made its debut on Tuesday, drawing a whopping 18,000,000 viewers, a figure which has been declared a bellwether of sorts. Roseanne and her family are representative of white middle America, and she is a Trump supporter both on and off the show. After the premier episode, Trump called Roseanne and personally congratulated her on the show's successful comeback. Pundits are saying that all this, along with a slow rise in Trump's ratings, is a sign that Trump and his "Make America Great Again" BS are speaking to more and more people, - people who are the true face of America, - people who are not now and never have been anything but bigots and hypocrites, and who are presently tired of having the POTUS investigated and shamed. America has never been what it claimed to be, and when put to the test of a true democacy, it always fails. That's why i have no love for this republic and its "christian" values. When the chips are down the good ol USA always shows its true colors, wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross. A scenario that will be presided over by Trump for the rest of his term. I hope i am wrong. And although i doubt if i'll be around to witness it, i also hope the mythical "man on a white horse" will appear, and kick this mothafucker out of office!

Educated vs Trained
SMH @Pioneer1 How modest of you to compare yourself to a historical giant like Booker T. Washington. Maybe i should compare myself to the equally-esteemed, W.E.B Dubois, whose ideas were different from Washington's, which was why they were frequently at odds. And have you considered walking instead of talking all of your grand notions? If so, what success have you had in encouraging blacks to skip college? You and your chronic tunnel vision are full of simplistic answers to complicated problems. If you're as steeped in hindsight, as you profess to be, why do you think your little formula for black success hasn't ignited a mass movement? Also, consider that if white folks see any sign of this idea gaining traction, they will co-opt it and beat black folks at their own game, - as usual. Go take a plunge into all of your smug, condescending hog wash and after you finish wallowing in it, - shake it off.

MARCHING. FOR . OUR...LIVES..
@Pioneer1 Yaaaawn. i reject your conspiracy theory since if currently applied it would involve the very unlikely idea of Donald Trump being in cahoots with Liberals. And your anecdote is also irrelevant since your being black impacted on how Liberals react to you. Where the safety of white children is concerned the dynamic is different, and their goals for sensible gun control have the backing of many other groups, including the majority of Americans.

Educated vs Trained
And what did George Washington Carver spend his life doing? He was into agriculture and agronomy; a botanist, all about improving farming techniques and inventions derived from the peanut, - in total keeping with Washington's vision. Plus the fact if you and your ilk had their way, Carver wouldn't have gone to college. SMH.

MARCHING. FOR . OUR...LIVES..
What makes you think that the marchers don't have strategies? This is a movement of privileged white children who. for one thing, are targeting the ballot as a part of their goal of voting out gun proponents. Plus their demands aren't unreasonable. They just want to ban assault weapons and require back ground checks. Last but not least, they have the backing and money of white liberals.

Physics and Philosophy (Religion) Have Overlapping Interests
@Del I was not familiar with the term "non-theistic". Once you and Troy used it and i looked it up, i accepted that Quakers are a non-theistic religion which is categorized as a "sect". What more acknowledgment do you need?? Or should i say what more validation do you need. So, OK, when i asked Troy "what religion did he know that didn't worship a god?" you supplied the answer: "Quakers." I never thought of Quakers as a religious group. I thought they were like the Amish or even Zen Buddhists; just a "cult" who followed a certain way of life. Even as i was posing that question, however, i wondered if either of you would say "Unitarians" because I'd considered becoming one of them since they do not believe in the Trinity. Obviously, i was wedded to the common definition of religion. And i still am curious as to why such a word came into being since it encompasses 2 different disciplines. The color "black" is "black". When it blends with the color "white", it is called "gray". "Not "white-black". Non-theistic stands on its own and I, personally, have problem with calling it a "religion". But i'm never too old to learn. Thank you for enlightening me.

Physics and Philosophy (Religion) Have Overlapping Interests
@Del I never said the Quakers weren't a nontheistic religion. I conceded that they are a sect. (Presumably the religion they are a sect of is Christianity.) @Troy. i did not reject the definition of nontheistic, mostly because neither you nor Del posted a definition of it. This adjective, however, is self-explanatory but to me it seemed contradictory to use it to modify the noun "religion", given the definition of religion, all of which was why i called it an "oxymoron", and i said i was "just speaking for myself" in calling it this. (i didn't see any definition of religion that strayed far from the one i posted. All information on its being something other than god-centered seemed inconclusive to the point of being controversial.)

Physics and Philosophy (Religion) Have Overlapping Interests
I said that Quakers are a "sect". To inform me that they are a religious sect was unnecessary because that's the definition of sect. There are no other types of sects. Sect: a group of people with somewhat different religious beliefs (typically regarded as heretical) from those of a larger group to which they belong. Redundant: exceeding what is necessary or normal : superfluous b : characterized by or containing an excess; specifically : using more words than necessary.
