Caribbean woman calls Black American macaroni nigga-roni.....is that offensive?
I listened to about half the video and my answer is, "no." I would however have asked for clarification of what "niggeroni" means. I've had macaroni and cheese in about four different establishments here in Tulsa Oklahoma and none of them not even one served in a soul food restaurant was any good. basically it was cooked macaroni in Velveeta cheese. my macaroni and cheese is much better. Maybe "niggeroni" is poorly made macaroni and cheese. So far the macaroni and cheese on the east coast is much better than the niggeroni that they serve out here ๐

New Book - Say Their Names: 101 Unarmed Women, Men and Children Killed By Law Enforcement
This matters and is an excellent point. @Campaign Justice where can this book be found besides Amazon?

But For Real Though....Was The Brother Out Of Line?
@Pioneer1 I can't... I can't invest the time to watch this 23 minute video. If he was rude I'm sure the motivation was to attract attention as he attracted yours.

Negro Leagues officially recognized by MLB
Baseball is fighting for relevancy. I find modern baseball with the cameras, focus on stats, 160+game seasons, crazy ticket prices, an expensive, boring indulgence, so i can't get worked up about anything MLB is doing. Bring back the Negro Leagues, that might get me excited. More seriously, It would be interesting to see negro league stats bump some major league stats, but it will probably take some time before that happens

Some Reacted to 2020 by Purchasing a Gun Others buy Purchasing Books
@Stefan history and experience tell me the interest in "anti-racism" book will end. It is the nature of the book business. Something hits, the market is flooded with more of the same, people get tired, demands plummets, and it is on to the next thing... @Delano I guess that is why more money is spend on weapons than books. Fewer people are going to college...

Poisoned Puddle: Pfizer and the Rush to Push Unscientific Cures
I know a highly educated person whose son has autism and they feel the MMR vaccine gave their child autism because the symptoms presented around the time the vaccine was administered. I would never challenge anyone directly, who is in this unfortunate position. The problem is diseases that were virtually eradicated are seeing a come back in some communities because people are scared for no reason. That said, I'm not lining up to take the vaccination. ๐ฎ

Poisoned Puddle: Pfizer and the Rush to Push Unscientific Cures
@Liber8ion I don't think the mem in the syphilis "experiment" were injected with syphilis, they were not treated -- still a devilish thing to do. Why people use this as evidence to justify not taking a vaccine today is asinine for all the reasons @Stefan described. Why white people are anti-vaxxers is completely mind boggling.

Some Reacted to 2020 by Purchasing a Gun Others buy Purchasing Books
@Stefan Thanks. It seems unlikely 2021 sales will exceed 2020's but I'm working on it. @Delano that presumes we need guns. I don't think anyone needs a gun. However if you are saying people feel they have all the knowledge they need and are buying a the sense of security they lack, then i see you point.

Some Reacted to 2020 by Purchasing a Gun Others buy Purchasing Books
Why One Kentucky Man Joined the 2020 Gun-Buying Boom (SPECTRUM NEWS) "Like Fisher (pictured below), many Americans bought a gun for the first time in 2020, a year that set the record for gun sales when it was only nine months old. By the start of December, Americans had purchased more than 20 million firearms, well ahead of the 2016 record of 16.6 million, according to the firm Small Arms Analytics & Forecastings (SAAF)." 2020 will be a record year in book sales for AALBC. In fact we hit our annual record by July. Why do some people react to the events on 2020 by arming themselves with a weapon and others with knowledge? Humans are a curious bunch indeed...

Person. Of. The. Year. Should. Be. George. Floyd.
It would not have immediately occurred to me if @harry brown had not mentioned it, but one could certainly make a strong argument that George Floyd should be person of the year. In much the same way that Emmett till impacted the nation and still does, George Floyd had a profound impact on the way that people, white people in particular view how black people have been treated currently, and historically in this country. Biden and Harris cannot possibly have such a profound impact on the American psyche as George Floyd's murder has. Floyd's murder got white people to ignore a global pandemic and begin marching the streets for social justice for black people no less. Do you think Biden is going to inspire anything close to that? Biden and Harris's greatest appeal is that they are not Donald Trump.

We Don't Need Amazon - Over 1,500 Audiobooks Added to AALBC
That is interesting. I wonder if other audio bookvendors are doih the same thing?

What are you listening to now?

I have to check this film. I'm was unfamiliar with it, but it looks fascinating!- A Black U.S. Defense Secretary
Sure, a double standard is being applied here, but why didn't Biden just select a civilian? This was an easy battle to avoid.- How can Blacks advance economically under Harris Biden?
@Stefan your opening sentence needs editing. I normally would just overlook it because I'm pretty sure you meant "eat some pretty good food..." I only bring it up because you've been so harsh on the writing skills of so many others -- the entire nation. What do you think about this sentence? Does it diminish your skill as a writer? Should we look at you and all people who post all forms as terrible writers?- How can Blacks advance economically under Harris Biden?
@Delano ๐ @Stefan I read the article and was surprised how small the amounts were paid to writers. I pay more to my editor to edit an article. The real problem is that many writers will write for free just to get a by line. HuffPost was notorious for exploiting writers who did this. Meanwhile writers demanded that far smaller black-owned publications had to pay them, while they gave Ariana Huffington free articles all day long. Black publications were dropping like flies while Ariana Huffington became very wealthy.- Lipstick Alleyโโโโโโโ One of the Best Black Discussion Forums on the Web!
Guess for now you're assessment of lipstick Alley seems harsh. I visit the site from time to time and that has not been my experience and I'm a black male. I do however restrict my participation to the Book Alley and my activity there is pretty limited so I just may not have had the chance to experience what you have. Are the sites, "healthy living, psychic alley and the front porch" black owned? If so I will check them out too.- But WHERE Is J.J. Getting All This CASH?????
When asked the same question a buddy of mine said, "they are just the dumb ones." This seems more plausible than assuming these people recognize and accept their role as canon fodder in the maintenance of white supremacy. Otherwise why do do many of them complain about their situation? Stupidity is also a more plausible explaination for their universal health Care and a higher minimum wage.- Black. Community -Toxic. Waste. Dumping .
There is plenty of talk about Oklahoma being the Black Mecca a apparently it is home to more historically Black communities than anywhere else in the country ... I'm still learning.- How can Blacks advance economically under Harris Biden?
It is an acrostic poem ... stand to upset virgins wishing x youthful zealotry.- Hope Lives: My Journey from an Obama Loyalist to Advocating for Inclusive Justice
A bit rapey? It is the very definition of rape.- How can Blacks advance economically under Harris Biden?
Nothing is perfect my friend ๐ I began to see that once was sophisticated enough to think about it. Sure I write I can write something they did not actually mean to write, but if it is important enough and unclear someone else will ask for clarification or make a correction Posting has becoming even more challenging as the auto correct and type ahead features can modify a post seemingly without you realizing it and introduce errors that are just bizarre. [just now, looking over what I just wrote "auto correct" was written as "author correct." I know I did not write "author"]. Of course simply going over what you have written will clean up a lot of problems. Often the choice for me because of time (I'm rushing to write this as I have a plane to catch) is between clean copy or not posting at all. I err on posting . I have corrected errors days -- even years after making a post, especially if I see it is being read frequently. Different people have different levels of tolerance. Cynique used to hate the @Pioneer1 often writes "definately" that never bothered me in the least, because I knew what he meant, but once she pointed it out I ways notice it. Your writing was indeed riff with often unintelligible words I only gave you grief about it when you critique others for their writing. I also assumed you were using a handheld, so I was willing tolerate it. Even great writers benefit from editors, even then it is still not "perfect." Good writers may strive for perfection, but recognize it is unachievable. Great writing comes really close and most writers are not great ๐- RUNNING WIT' DA DEVIL
Nine years old, you was a fast little kid huh @Gibran! When I got to the part "...get beat with an electrical cord..." that made me laugh. My moms used to beat me with an extension cord. I threw away the belt she used to use and she upgraded. I thought that was a particularly cruel implement to discipline a child, but it was really all my mother knew and everyone seemingly whupped their kids. She stopped whipping me when it was obvious I could stop easily stop her from doing it. I never tried to sneak out cause my moms slept light as a feather. I'd seriously considered climbing out the window over the years but I was more that 30 feet from the ground and getting back in would be pose an even even greater challenge.- How can Blacks advance economically under Harris Biden?
Hey @Delano despite what you write, I have recently begun describing myself as a "writer." I recognize I'm not as good as most others who call themselves writers. I have taught a section on writing to prepare students for the GED test. I have been writing for this website for over 20 years. I have paid writers and edited their work for this site. I have been paid to write for other publications including a book. So while I don't go around boasting about it, or put if high on my set of skills, I include it. Just some context ๐ - Time
