Conveniently Black
@Delano those examples are high profile exceptions, not the rule. I seriously doubt Nancy Cunard had a true friendship with any poor people. Man middle class Black peopledon't even hang with poor Blacks -- even if they are in their own families. There really us a caste system here in the U.S. At Stern we got to rub elbows with very wealthy people. How many are you regularly in contact with today?

Daniel, Do You Forgive Them?
I don't know any police procedure that would approve if shiiting someone in the back if they ate fleeing. Yes, I think there are many people with valueae lives who are handicapped (or whatever the PC term is). What is "Sodapop?"

Who are the Poweful Black Women with ADOS Husbands?
Rothflmbao! Well I was married for almost 30 years so... But now that I'm single and have messed around a bit, I'd say a 40/50 sonething woman is superior to a 20 sonething. Yes there are women in there 40 who are tight and know what they are working with 😉 i dont have any experience with women older than me (that i can recall). I don't plan on hittin anything over 60 until im 70+ unless her name is Oprah Lol! But check this out when you share yourself with someone sexually way you exchange something more profound than a physical activity. I know I'd be happier now with one good woman that many different ones i don't have spiritual energy. When i was younger i did not care about that.

Conveniently Black
Word! There are several books on Shirley coming out, but they are getting drowned out by all the bullshit going down now. I try to associate myself with good people. I really don't care how much money they have. The way the country works we all tend to socialize with people in our same social class. Wealthy people don't hang out with wage earners. That only happens in Tyler Perry movies.

Daniel, Do You Forgive Them?
I did not watch the George Floyd execution yet. I did just now watch this shooting. I can see why the police would want to stop the guy from going into his car, but seems like they could have easily stopped him by just grabbing him. Did both cops shoot him? It is hard for me to believe "race" was not part of this action. The guy is lucky to be alive. It will be interesting to hear what he was thinking when walked around the car and reached into it whike two white officers have guns trained on. That act was suicudal. Don't we all know by now once guns are drawn you don't do anything you are not told to do? Sure @Pioneer1 if that white women was a billionaire and gave me unfretted access to her money she might have chance lol!

Black. Vice President Kanala Harris.
@daniellegfny you should certainly consider your sources. I used to listen to right wing talk shows all the time. The good hosts were entertaining and informative. In fact that is how I discovered Thomas Sowell. But these shows have devolved. The guys aren't relating conservative ideology they are exposing conspiracies and lies. Unfortunately the conservative talk are trash now. The scitechdaily site you linked to is very questionable too.

Who are the Poweful Black Women with ADOS Husbands?
Dude if Danielle was able to say, That means we are talking at least 100 women. By the time a guys is as old as we are that is a realistic number. I'm not surprised. Guys in their 20s will screw anything not nailed down. The benefit to the Belgian senior citizen goes without saying. She probably related her experience with a young Black buck the rest of her life. Obviously. Melody does not strike me a being "needy" she is smart, attractive, young, and wealthy. She had her pick of quality Brothers and she chose George. She is operating on a level I don't understand. Obviously a vigorous sex life (they had a kid) is not important, which is surprising cause she is in her prime, while George looks like he would have trouble walking around the block. I think it was as simple as access to even more wealth and power. More power to her I doubt I could do it though.

An Example of Amazon Inflating the Price of a New Book
Here is another example:

Daniel, Do You Forgive Them?
@Pioneer1 you are continuing to muddy the conversation and I don't want to go down a convoluted rabbit hole with you 😉 At the end of the day, there is no scientific basis to support your assertions in a genetic basis for the behavioral differences between people based upon their skin color. I don't buy into the idea that white people were created in a lab, are devils, and genetically predisposed to be evil. We will just continue to disagree on this.

Oh Black Press Radio is a whole 'nother story. I have heard of them 🙂 Did I miss the connection on their website?

Has anyone else Been a BlkChk Power 100
I never heard of them before now. How did you learn about them? So they are providing a service to businesses that allows them to prove that are Black owned? Would that be a service you would recommend for AALBC? If so, why? if not, why not? I just checked their domain registration: https://www.whois.com/whois/blkchk.com The domain 2.5 month old. New site always give me pause for concern. New sites that have only been registered for a year raises a red flag with me. I link to thousands of websites. I won't link to sites under these conditions because they are often fleeting and I don;t have the time to clean up bad links. I would not give them money -- unless I knew the principals personally. Someone needs to prove to me that they are Black owned. Let me know what you discover.

Who are the Poweful Black Women with ADOS Husbands?
@daniellegfny are most of them white too? I've tried, but I simply can do 20 years younger I prefer someone from my generation, maybe 10 years younger. Twenty to 30 years older is a nonstarter. Now if a white women in her 70's (Melody's example above), who was famous and very extremely wealth stepped to me. I she'd have to be one hell of a woman. Call me shallow...

Amazon Raises the Price of Destruction of The Black Civilization
I just got a box of Chancellor Williams's classic book, the The Destruction of Black Civilization: Great Issues of a Race from 4500 B.C. to 2000 A.D. The book, published by Third World Press (another large Black owned publisher @Pioneer1) has been hard to get the last couple of months. I just updated my site to show the book is back in stock. I also decided to check out what Amazon was doing with the title, and discovered that they were selling the book at almost 50% over retail (as of August 25, 2020) Why does Amazon continue to have a reputation for having the best prices on books? I find many examples of them hiking the price of a book up, often substantially, when there is a whiff of scarcity. Amazon can even get to people to pay for the privilege of being overcharged with that "Prime" membership! If you care about Black books, and by extension Black people, just skip Amazon. They are not just over charging for books either.
-
When Looking for Products Search the Web not Amazon
I frequently see Amazon charging more for a product that other vendors. This example was particularly egregious because Amazon was charging more that EVERY other vendor I checked. I was able to check multiple prices in my search engine query. I visited Amazon just to make sure and to get the screen shot. I brought the telescope from Target because they offered free shipping, and honestly, because they were not Amazon. The product was not available locally. Other than the fact that Amazon could get away with inflating the price, there was no discernible reason for Amazon charge more for this telescope. Many people use Amazon as the first place to look for a product. Probably because they have already wasted money on a prime membership but I have to believe it is also done out of laziness as well. Save yourself some money and shop around.

It was double speak to let white folks, "Don't worry I gotchu!" You lock up a Brother trying to get into his own house, I'll invite you over for a beer. I'm still voting for Biden

Who are the Poweful Black Women with ADOS Husbands?
I'm not surprised by anything a celebrity (entertainer), they are a different kind of animal. Successful Black women often go after old white guys. Now I'm sure George Lucas is a brilliant man and a fine conversationalist, but he is old enough to Melody's father, and can easily pass for her grandfather... Is the power and money, for a sister already well off, that much of an attraction? When Melody will be my age in a few years and George will be 83. Maybe she is banking on him not being around that long. Is that too cynical?

Who are the Poweful Black Women with ADOS Husbands?
Women who are already powerful and wealthy don't need a man for that -- unless they are being greedy... ... so can you name any powerful women who married ADOS men at least to take advantage of the benefits, however stereotypical, you've mentioned?

Conveniently Black
You know, I have to admit the same of true for me too. Despite the fact that I went through a wealth destroying divorce during 45's presidency. 2018 was a record year for AALBC, which was followed about another record year in 2019, and 2020 will be better than 2019! The tax checks were not fun to write, but Trump send be a $1,200 check. I didn't even ask for it (reparations LOL!) The years during the Obama administration were all years of struggle. I did even make any real money on the book they published. I ended up gifting almost as many copies of Michelle Obama's book as I sold. Now is 45 the reason for this? Republicans will say yes and democrats will say no. The question is pretty irrelevant. The site survives because of me busting my ass and because of the support i get from you. Now, if you all are doing better and able to patronize and support AALBC.... part of the reason AALBC can do better is because YOU are doing better. The person stilling in the oval office has little direct impact, outside of the $1,200 payment Trump made -- the first direct payment i ever got from the U.S. Government! It seems 45 has gone out of his way to do things for Black people, letting wrongfully convicted people out of jail and inviting Jim Brown to the White House. I'm sure Obama let some wrongfully convicted Black people out of jail too ... right? Sometimes Black people in power don't do anything to directly support Black people. Sometimes they even take it too far by hurting Black people, just so that they do not appear to be too biased toward Black people. But don't let it be a black and a white one 'Cause they'll slam ya down to the street top Black police showin' out for the white cop --"Fuck tha Police," N.W.A The power white people have is that they don't have to worry about appearing to be biased toward Black people in fact they are usually praised for it.

Black Owned Book Stores Thriving......
I work with a book printer, Black Classic Press, in fact I'm a reseller of their services, https://aalbcprintsbooks.com, but I've only had a few clients. There one client I worked with a Brother, Dr. David Covin, who is also a publisher. EVERY business involved with the production of his book (Raisins in Milk), writer, editor, book designer, book cover artist, printer, distributor, publisher, book reviewer, promotion and advertising, and bookseller is Black. In fact, when his book became an AALBC bestseller, he printed AALBC's Bestseller's seal on the book's cover for his second print run! Dr. Covin is not the only author you utilizes Black-owned businesses to produce their books. Imagine, if every indie author did this, rather than giving Amazon all their business? Actually the Black book ecosystem is much stronger outside America. I've work with publishers like African World Press who has offices all over the word. Cassava Republic Press is based in Ghana and the UK. Once of their books In Dependence by Sarah Ladipo Manyika has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. We don't heard about these business and books because we have no significant voice and we do not control the narrative. White folks decide which Black writers are worthy and then every one else, including some Black book sellers follow the white lead. Part of the reason people echo what white folks say is important is because the books that make the bestseller's lists and get the awards are the ones that sell the most and make the most money. It is simple, we must support the business in the black Book Ecosystem, it is the only way our voices will be heard, at least in this country (America). Right now there is a effort to get Big Five publishers to publish more books by Black writers. This is tantamount to asking publishers to produce books that will lose money for them. The books will lose money not because they are not worthy, but book sellers don't have a clue how to sell these books. Sure it is easy to sell Michelle Obama's book or an Anitracist book (right now). How would they sell the upcoming novel from Africa Work Press, Maasai: A Novel of Love, War and Witchcraft in 19th Century East Africa by Elliot Fratkin? ...and that last book was written by a white guy 🙂

Who are the Poweful Black Women with ADOS Husbands?
@Pioneer1, mentioned, in an off-handed comment on another conversation, a number of prominent Black women with white husbands. While I don't care who people marry, it got me thinking about the number of prominent Black women (non entertainers) who don't chose ADOS husbands. While we celebrate the 1st Black president and Kamala Harris (married a white guy) neither are ADOS. Is this a racist conspiracy against us as Pioneer1 would probably say, or is it a consequence of ADOS being less desirable because we've allowed ourselves to be weakened by our fixating on race, as I believe @daniellegfny would suggest. Candice Owens (married a white guy), in the film Uncle Tom, said Nigerians were more successful for this reason. Are ADOS men, simply inferior stock and less desirable marriage material? Judging by the choices made be smart and successful women one could make the argument... 🤨

AfroAmerican Sexuality
Yes she is attractive, but she also looks a lot younger than Michelle or Kamala, so it is not a fair comparison.

AfroAmerican Sexuality
Just based upon appearance. She's not the sister in yellow, but I can't judge looking at her head shot. I'm not a fan of that straight-haired wig.
