  1. They all defiantly deny the accusations. The question remains, how can someone begin a legal procedure with such damaging accusations then say "never mind" without any penalty or repercussions -- Unless they were paid? Such a payment would, of course, be bound by a nondisclosure agreement. So, we never know the truth.
  2. @ProfD, acknowledged. I guess Eric's co-conspirators have been left holding the bag. Reading the reasons for Eric's indictments seems rather trivial compared to what Trump and Clarence Thomas, for example, are known to have done. How is what the Turkish government has done for Eric different from any K Street Lobbyist does for any member of Congress?
  3. I just read the article. The charges have not been dropped, at least not yet. The DOJ made the request, but they have not been carried out yet.
  4. Maybe she was paid off. Is that a possibility? If Puffy can do an “Eric Adams” he can make federal charges disappear.
  5. Tell me what to do please.
  6. Yeah, that video appeared in my feet too. I’m beginning to dislike YouTube even more. They positioned the video as if Obama was weighing in on the Drake Lamar beef or I don’t think he really was. Google will do anything for money. I don’t think growing up hard is a requirement for being a good rapper. It doesn’t disqualify you either. Does Drake rap about growing up hard or ghetto life as if he was about it? If he did who really cares he definitely won’t be the first person to do that ice cube is a gangster rapper and he didn’t grow up in the life and he was great. Again, I don’t follow this stuff, but it’s been shoved in my face… I heard that Drake was large before anybody knew who Kendrick was and that Drake put Kendrick on one of his tours helping him out. Obviously Kendrick is about as large as you can get right now but it’s not like Drake is a nobody. I did not know Drake was Jewish. He wouldn’t be the first Jewish person to exploit the rap industry
  7. I’m not a musician, but I’m definitely a lover of music but not I was oblivious to the childish beef. I think Chris handled it wel,l certainly better than I would have. Most musicians don’t write their own music or song lyrics. I would not hold that against Drake. But I agree he should not release a song dissing anyone. I don’t think any rap artist should producers rap dissing another artist for the enjoyment of white folks — which is the primary purpose of rap today.
  8. yes. We all stopped playing poker to watch the show. One of my buddies is a DJ and he explained the beef and what Kendrick was doing. how knowledgeable about the Kendrick/Drake beef are you? I’m not sure what you heard about “”NY Dudes,” but I’m curious what should Chris have done in your opinion? what should Drake do?
  9. Come on brother man I know it was a performance, but it was not without context.. Why not get Steph Curry or Mike Tyson to do the Crip walk or more realistically a professional dancer? I think Kendrick tried to do both , address America’s oppression of Black people, and diss Drake. You’re bending over backwards to ignore the diss and I’m not sure why. Perhaps you don’t want to acknowledge the fact that going after Drake diminished the message of critique America’s racism. Perhaps you don’t want to acknowledge the fact that this Blackman went after another in the most public way. Perhaps you reject the idea that it was just sophisticated buck dancing. To me, it’s like watching Will Smith slap the hell out of Chris Rock and react by talking talk about Will Smith great achievement as an actor
  10. @ProfD I guess you agree with Keith Boykin “Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was not a divisive distraction. It was a critical and defiant celebration of Blackness in a time of adversity.”
  11. Are you saying that he did not invest any energy in dissing Drake during the Super Bowl performance? Popular dance? I guess times have changed. I thought of you weren’t affiliated with the Crips you shouldn’t do it. So you don’t believe there was any meaning behind having Serena Williams of all people doing that particular dance to “they not like us” of all songs? Well, I’m not white, and I’m generally pretty progressive socially. I suspect it’s more of an age (ie wisdom) thing. The interesting thing is there is so much musical talent in New Orleans That could’ve been tapped without the distracting controversy. It was good to see Jon Baptiste and Trombone Shorty performing.
  12. Okay, cause 2 million deaths is WW figures. when figures are used to make a point and the figures are clearly off I begin to question everything else that is said (just the way I think). Just in our lifetime the Khmer rouge killed about 2 million Cambodian’s in the 70s. The Rwanda genocide resulted in up to 1 million deaths in the 90s…. Forget assigning characteristics to people based upon their skin color we’re all human and all capable of the same senseless killings.
  13. Hey man, where did you get that number from? Well, I think the Ukrainians were defending themselves, and many of the Russian soldiers were mercenaries or compelled to fight. Sadly, white people do not have a monopoly on gratuitous or wonton killing.
  14. From what I understand from those much more versed in rap culture than I, was that Serena‘s Crip walk was also part of the diss to Drake. All things considered I’m not a fan that Kendrick used this tremendous platform to escalate a beef with another black rapper. I would be surprised if I didn’t appreciate the fact that wealthy white folks like to pay us do this type of thing. we have a 40+ year-old GOAT, someone’s mother, crip walking?! Did anyone notice what she was spelling out or was she just celebrating gang culture. I don’t know… I’m I the only one who thinks that was inappropriate, particularly on that stage?
  15. There are plenty of people. I was asked to buy a carton of cigarettes here in Florida for someone up in New York City who smokes two packs a day. My mother easily smokes a pack a day and has been doing that for the better part of 3/4 of a century. certainly, we as a people can do a much better job and investing in our own businesses. We do have experience with this already. There are mega churches all over the country that are supported by relatively small contributions by large numbers of people. Some of those churches have schools and provide a wide variety of services for the community in addition to ensuring contributors get into heaven. But churches have all types of tax advantages that regular businesses don’t. The real issue, I think, is creating wealth for the investors rather than lighting the pockets of some charismatic preacher. It is not just a matter of organizing the investors it’s coming up with the viable business. Alternatively, people can be content in simply contributing to a business without expecting to be rewarded financially. People contribute to my business simply because they want to support what I’m doing, which is beautiful because it actually does help.

  17. That website is defaulted. It has not been maintained for years and the length to the forms is broken. The fact that it ranks well in search seems to indicate there is no active website in the space. I wonder if there’s even a desire for one. I suspect most church communities have their own websites and online social platforms. Well, from the example that Richard provided the idea of a Black Christian website didn’t seem to work. As far as a black on website, the equivalent of what’s already out there we already know that won’t work at least not originating in the US. Of course anyone buying in stock in Meta or Alphabet are doing so to make money for themselves. Now, while Facebook makes itself out itself as bringing in the world closer together people don’t invest in them for that they invest solely to make money. There are other businesses types that are mission, driven B corps and not for profits. people invest in them to improve society, but those aren’t the organizations that make all that make money for investors or create wealth. It has been suggested buy some, that AALBC should become a not for profit.
  18. I’m not sure he’s a good example given his do nothing reaction to the slap heard around the world.
  19. there were plenty of sex scenes in the series. Typically several in each episode. There were no vulvas or penises shown, and I don’t think there were any nipples on female breasts visible. One of the lesbians was shown sporting a strap on, and they were butts shown as far as I know that was about it.
  20. Yes, your are right @ProfD Fuller described this in the interview with Rock Newman a couple of years ago:
  21. That is actually a Great idea man a Christian social media site, surely one most already exist.
  22. …but as Fuller teaches we all have to deal with it.
  23. Wow. I did not know until I read this that Nelly Fuller Jr. has transitioned, and it has been almost a week. I listen to the radio every day. I'm online every day. I talk to conscious Black people most days. Again, this is why sites like this are important. "The feed" simply does not serve us...why because it exists in the context of a system of white supremacy. RIP Mr. Fuller.
  24. You needed to give a Spoiler alert @ProfD LOL! At any rate, are all the Black TV should nowadays dealing with crime, ghettos, sex, drug use, family dysfunction. If that is all we see how can our youth aspire to anything. Personally, I was remember being shocked to learn when, during my freshman year in college, that not all Black people were from an urban ghetto like me or the kids in The Chi. I know that is why so many Black people called the Cosby Show "unrealistic," because it bucked every negative stereotype we were brainwashed with.
  25. The crazy thing is that there are Black-owned social media sites. It is fascinating to watch Black Twitter wring their hands over where to go next. The problem is unless "mainstream" media gives it their co-sign Black people won't flock to it. It takes a ton of money to run a robust social media platform capable of supporting even tens of thousands of users -- let alone hundreds of millions of users globally. So, any site we use will need serious funding and only comes from investors who believe there will be serious returns on their investment. The type of money will not flow to a Black focused social site -- at least not an American one. Perhaps one will emerge from the continent. Maybe it already exists, and I just don't know about it -- because we are all fixated to keep our TikTok account active
