maybe you’re right. Everybody’s gotta work the father, the mother, the kids… But hasn’t that always been true for us, black folks that is? Sure there are some black families where dad‘s the breadwinner, mom stays home. Kids get to play after school…. I didn’t know any growing upand I don’t know any many today. There are circumstances where the guy can afford to raise the family himself, but the wife is gonna work anyway cause she’s gotta have her own money… being a stay at home Mom is seemingly degrading in today’s world But all the kids I grew up with, we all worked as soon as we could get our working papers at 14. I was a messenger all through high school.. a lot of kids worked earlier than that, delivering the newspapers, bagging groceries. I used to collect bottles, but that was back when a nickel was worth something. again, you may be right I’m pretty sure in places like New York City. The data will support that as well.

This is not a parameter I set so is the default and I don’t even know what it is cause I don’t recall ever hitting the limit. Whenever I post the image, I usually resize it and compress it a bit.

I’m not a joiner only in recent years have I joined organizations and actively participated in them. I’ve learned I can’t do very much by myself. I’ve never been an active member of any black organization. Pledging a frat during undergrad was the last thing on my mind. Those brothers used to pledge a whole semester or more. It seemed. I didn’t understand what the benefit of it might be. Pledging seem to help getting females, but that has never been a problem for me. I already have plenty of male friends I just didn’t see the benefit of it. Living in the south however, most of the people I engage with are frat. In New York City, most of the people I engage with were not in a Greek letter organization. It’s cultural here in the south is just assumed you remember of a church. I’m somewhat of an anomaly down here, educated entrepreneur, but don’t go to church not a member of a frat, and not married. one disadvantage of living a long life is losing friends that must be hard. I have a group of guys that play poker with regularly. I imagine one day if I live long enough, they won’t be around any longer, and it will be impossible to truly replace them. I’ve known all of them at least 30 years a couple of them more than 55 years.

did you miss the entire me too movement that was largely white boys getting caught up? Malcolm X leveled the charge against Elijah, Mohammed, and Martin Luther King was caught on tape? was a relatively common name when I was younger, so I’m sure there are a lot of Damita’s still running around. Shannon, is probably a more common name and it is gender neutral like Tracy or Morgan. Shoot there are a lot of women running around with the name Troy. English is not a gendered language so it’s not like naming a girl Antonio or a boy Sofia. You guys are too young to be having these old attitudes lol!

I know I’ve been out of the work environment for a long time, but @pioneer the way you describe the conversations you have and your understanding of how it’s set up is completely alien to me and I’ve worked for a bunch of companies in a lot of different places. I fail to see the distinction the crusades, for example, would not have taken place where not for religion. in war, there are always innocent casualties. just because Minister Farrakhan is not appeared on his show doesn’t mean he’s a racist. besides, Farrakhan would not be an ideal guest for the Bill Maher show over they talk about? Bill doesn’t believe in his religion indeed, Bill is anti-religion. Tiffany is entitled to her opinion she says she doesn’t watch the show so she probably doesn’t know that he has Black people on the show conservatives and liberals. Sure most of the guests are white. I don’t always agree with Bill and as I said before, I think he’s an elitist and has an attitude to match. Putting in the work to dismantle white racism is being anti-racist. Which is a big ask. Shoot, most Black people aren’t anti-racist. Most of us are just trying to survive. The reason I pushed back is because the implication is that if you are not the alpha male you are less than a man. This is illustrated by Peterson's quote;" "Beta male! oh, I’m Mr. double entendre OK I I agree that conversation will have zero effect… based upon my partial, listening of the video I’m actually glad pioneer brought up colorism. It is offensive, but it is an issue. I have to admit it occurred to me when I was looking at the video, but of course I’m a product of America, but I know that settlement I need to reject again.
